      • 장기투석을 받은 만성 신부전 환자에서 발생한 종양에 관한 고찰

        The authors tried to evaluate tumor occurrence in long-term dialysis patients with chronic renal failure. Among 359 patients, 20 patients (about 5.6%) were diagnosed with malignancy during long-term dialysis from the period of 1983 to 1995 at our nephrology department. The ultrasonographic and computed tomographic findings including the clinical features of 20 patients that were retrospectively reviewed. The mean age of the patients was 53 (37-75)years old and the ratio of male to female was 9:1. Among the 20 cases, 7 cases of hepatoma (35%) were developed. Among them, urinary tract tumors such as renal and bladder cancer were developed in 4 (20%) and 2 (10%) of the cases. Other malignant tumors were lymphoma, stomach cancer, uterine cervical cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, lung cancer, meningioma, and acoustic neuroma one case of each (each of 5.3%). The most common tumor in patients with chronic renal failure, who were receiving long-term dialysis, was hepatoma and the second most common tumor was cancer of the urinary tract such as kidney and bladder.

        This paper intends to analyze the consciousness structure for the criteria of medium and small enterprise using Fuzzy Modeling method on the basis of fuzzy theory. As the subject of this study, 15 middle management who play the leading role each enterprise was chosen. Also, they were answered the questionare of 14 items which can be comsidered for evalustion of medium and small enterprise. Using Fuzzy Structural Modeling method, we derived the graphic structure for their consciousness from the evaluation of the 14 items.

        폐렴구균 균혈증에 의한 감염성 심내막염 1예

        폐렴구균 균혈증에 합병된 심내막염은 드문 경우로 페니실린이 사용된 1940년대 이후로 전체의 1% 이하로 감소하였고, 주로 알코올 중독자에게 잘 발생한다. 저자들은 부비동염과 폐렴구균에 의한 균혈증으로 내원하여 항생제 치료 중 폐렴 및 대동맥 판막에 세균성 심내막염이 발생하여 대동막 판막 치환술 및 승모판 성형술 시행을경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Streptococcus pneumoniae has been a rare cause of endocarditis in the postantibiotic era. The incidence of pneumococcal endocarditis now accounts for less than 3% of all cases and most often occur in patients with risk factors, especially alcoholism. We report the case of a 68-year-old male with acute infective endocarditis due to Streptococcus pneumoniae. We stressed the low frequency of this agent as a cause of endocarditis and the atypical evolution of this case.

      • 만성 신부전증 환자에서 동정맥루형성술의 조기 성적

        The surgically created arteriovenous fistula has become the method of choice in achieving vascular access for maintenance hemodialysis. The authors performed 70 arteriovenous fistulas for angioaccess in 65 patients with CRF at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in Chungnam National University Hospital during the period form August 1990 to November 1991. There were 4 cases of early obstructions due to inadequate vein in 2 cases, inadequate artery in 1 case and technical failure in 1 case. In 3 cases except 1 case who was transferred to other hospital, re-AVF were tried with successful outcomes. There were 2 cases of minor complications (wound infection and arm swelling due to venous hypertension) which were managed conservatively with successful outcomes. During the mean follow up of 8 months in 59 patients whore are not expired or lost during follow up, 3 cases of late thrombosis were occured with fistula patency rate of 94.9%. The authors consider the 'anatomical snuffbox' arteriovenous fistula as a primary choice and consider another method if it is not possible.

        간벌에 의한 서식지 구조와 양서,파충류 개체군의 특성 차이

        본 연구는 간벌에 따른 서식지 구조와 양서·파충류 개체군 특성 차이를 파악하기 위해 2014년과 2015년 의 6월부터 9월까지 강원도 홍천군 매화산의 침엽수림과 활엽수림에서 각각 실시되었다. 산림의 수직구조를 파악한 결과, 모든 임상에서 간벌 이후 산림환경이 구조적으로 크게 변화하였다. 특히 간벌 후 중층 및 하층의 피도량이 감소한 반면, 도목잔존물의 수와 부피는 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 침엽수림과 활엽수림에 각각 2개 조사구, 총 4개 조 사구 내에서 간벌 전과 후 월별 1회씩 총 32번의 선형횡단조사를 통해 양서류는 5종 119개체, 파충류는 3종 5개체 가 확인되었다. 임상별 관찰된 평균 종수 및 개체수 차이를 파악한 결과, 침엽수림에서는 양서류의 평균 종수가 간벌 후 감소한 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 참개구리(Pelophylax nigromaculatus)와 북방산개구리(Rana dybowskii) 등 2종 이 차이를 보였다. 파충류는 관찰 간벌 후 모든 임상에서 관찰되지 않았다. 향후 간벌에 따른 양서·파충류의 개체 군 특성 차이를 파악하기 위해서는 간벌의 규모와 빈도, 강도 등 다양한 요인을 고려한 정밀 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. This study was conducted to clarify the differences in habitat structure and amphibian and reptile (herpetofauna) populations between before and after thinning in the coniferous and deciduous forests from June to September 2014 and 2015 at the Mt. Maewha of Hongcheon, Gangwon province, Korea. Forest structure was dramatically changed after thinning. Coverage of understory and mid-story were decreased while volume and number of downed trees were increased after thinning. We used line transect sampling method on a total of 4 transect lines, 2 lines in each forest type. 119 individuals of 5 amphibian species and 5 individuals of 3 reptile species were recorded. Mean number of amphibian species were decreased after thinning in the coniferous forest. There was no observed reptiles after thinning in the coniferous and deciduous forests. Detailed monitoring with different area, frequency and intensity might be needed to clarify more precise differences characterisitics of herpetofauna by thinning.

      • 김치용 간절임 배추의 저장에 관한 연구 : Ⅱ. 젖산, Calcium Chloride, 저장온도가 저장중 간절임 배추의 품질에 미치는 영향

        배추를 다듬기 하는데 발생한 폐기량은 7.5∼14% (w/w)이었고 10±2℃에서 30일간 방치한 경우 약 17∼25% 발생하였다. 간절임 배추의 pH값은 저장온도가 낮을수록, 염도가 높을수록 높았으나 calcium chloride 첨가가 절임배추의 pH값의 변화에는 영향을 주지 않았다. 유리당의 함량변화는 최소 약 4% 수준에서 산의 함량과는 반비례적으로 변화하여 저장 90일에는 소금농도가 낮고 저장온도가 높은 경우 적게 감소되었다. 균수변화에서 세균과 효모는 전 기간을 통해 증가한 반면, 곰팡이는 감소하였다. 한편 산의 첨가와 CaCl? 첨가시 소금으로만 절인 경우보다 세균과 효모는 낮은 속도로 증가했다. 저장중 경도는 온도가 낮고 염도가 높으며 젖산을 첨가한 경우 다소 높게 유지됐고, CaCl? 첨가의 경우 잎과 줄기에서 월등히 높았다. 휘발산과 불휘발산의 함량변화에서 온도가 낮고 염도가 높은경우 불휘발산의 함량이 낮았는데 특히 젖산 첨가시 불휘발산의 증가를 억제하는 것으로 나타났다. flavor score 는 저온과 고염도 젖산첨가시 유리하였다. This study was to investigate the effects of storage temperature, lactic acid and calcium chloride addition about the pH values, sugar content, firmness, volatile and nonvolatile acidity, microbial counts and flavor of the salted chinese cabbages during storage (90 days), and trim loss of chinese cabbages during the trimming of raw and storaged (30 days) chinese cabbages. The waste rate was in the course of trimming of raw chinese, cabbages was 7.5-14(w/w). The proportion of trim loss was highly correlated to sunshine duration, temperature, humidity and handling for the storage. Free sugar was decreased fast and much in the case of high temperature and low level sodium chloride in comp rison of low temperature and high sodium chloride, but ?? and lactic acid did not affect its changes. Time to reach the lowest pH values were fast in the case of high temperature and low salt content. Lactic acid affected inital pH value (4.38-4.57) and constant pH value in each case was increased at low salt content, at high temperature, and then the pH values were slowly increased when volatile acidity was increased. Firmness was high in the case of addition of lactic acid and calcium chloride, low temperature, high sodium chloride concentration. Especially, calcium chloride addition remarkably showed high firmness. Flavor score was high in the case of low storage temperature, high yeast counts were slowly increased in spite of low temperature and high salt content, but mold counts were slightly increased during all period Lactic acid, low temperature and high sodium chloride were effective to inhibit the growth of microorganisms. Volatile and nonvolatile acidity was increased during all storage period ; however, lactic acid and low temperature storage inhibited their increase. To conclude, quality of salted chinese cabbages was effective at low temperature storage, lactic acid and calcium chloride addition, and high salt concentration.

        there are several ways of increasing photoelectric transformation Efficiency of DSSC(Dye Sensitized Solar Cell). In this paper introduce difference of efficiency according to the size of TiO2 particles and the mixing ratio of the each TiO2 particles. first, each TiO2 particle of 10㎚ size and 300㎚ size is measured that efficiency of DSSC by stacking three times about 3㎛ each. On the other hand, efficiency of DSSC were investigated according to method by mixing 90% of 10㎚ TiO2 and 10% of 300㎚, by mixing 70% of 10㎚ TiO2 and 30% of 300㎚, by mixing 50% of 10㎚ TiO2 and 50% of 300㎚.

        Neuraminidase Inhibitors from the Fermentation Broth of Phellinus linteus

        During a search for neuraminidase inhibitors derived from medicinal fungi, we found that the fermentation broth of Phellinus linteus exhibited potent neuraminidase inhibitory activity. Through bioassay-guided fractionation, two active compounds were purified from the ethyl acetate-soluble portion of the fermentation broth of P. linteus. These structures were identified as inotilone (1) and 4-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-buten-2-one (2) by spectroscopic methods. Compounds 1 and 2 inhibited H1N1 neuraminidase activity with $IC_{50}$ values of 29.1 and 125.6 $125.6{\mu}M$, respectively, in a dose-dependent manner. They also exhibited an antiviral effect in a viral cytopathic effect reduction assay using MDCK cells. These results suggest that compounds 1 and 2 from the culture broth of P. linteus would be good candidates for the prevention and therapeutic strategies towards viral infections.

        <i>In vivo</i> visualization of endogenous miR-21 using hyaluronic acid-coated graphene oxide for targeted cancer therapy

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Oncogene-targeted nucleic acid therapy has been spotlighted as a new paradigm for cancer therapeutics. However, <I>in vivo</I> delivery issues and uncertainty of therapeutic antisense drug reactions remain critical hurdles for a successful targeted cancer therapy. In this study, we developed a fluorescence-switchable theranostic nanoplatform using hyaluronic acid (HA)-conjugated graphene oxide (GO), which is capable of both sensing oncogenic miR-21 and inhibiting its tumorigenicity simultaneously. Cy3-labeled antisense miR-21 peptide nucleic acid (PNA) probes loaded onto HA-GO (HGP21) specifically targeted CD44-positive MBA-MB231 cells and showed fluorescence recovery by interacting with endogenous miR-21 in the cytoplasm of the MBA-MB231 cells. Knockdown of endogenous miR-21 by HGP21 led to decreased proliferation and reduced migration of cancer cells, as well as the induction of apoptosis, with enhanced PTEN levels. Interestingly, <I>in vivo</I> fluorescence signals markedly recovered 3 h after the intravenous delivery of HGP21 and displayed signals more than 5-fold higher than those observed in the HGPscr-treated group of tumor-bearing mice. These findings demonstrate the possibility of using the HGP nanoplatform as a cancer theranostic tool in miRNA-targeted therapy.</P>
