      • 디자인교육에서의 학제간 Radical Collaboration 사례 연구

        Product design development requires multidisciplinary collaboration between design, engineering and business. Over the last 5 years, there have been many attempts to create multidisciplinary design education programs globally. This paper examines the 30 top innovative design programs selected by the Businessweek in 2009. Even though the academic leadership is different, most of them are seeking new interdisciplinary programs combining 3 disciplines. Among these programs, RCA, Stanford, and Aalto show the most radical collaboration model not only education and research area but also to business incubation.

        Factors that determine the Work Ability Index of street cleaners

        Background: Korea has shown a rapid pace of aging and has become an aged society in a shorter period than Western countries. Therefore, it is important that middle-aged workers maintain their ability to work in the industrial field at the maximum level while maintaining their health.         The effect of earplug training on noise protection

        Background: Noise-induced hearing loss is an occupational disease, and workplace noise exposure is a major hazard in Korea. Although hearing protectors effectively reduce a worker"s exposure to noise, their success is compromised by the wearer"s inability to fit the protectors correctly, and there are no proper training methods for using hearing protectors in small-scale industries. This study aims to evaluate the effect of earplug training on hearing protection using field microphone-in-real-ear (F-MIRE) and prevent noise-induced hearing loss. Methods: The study population comprised 172 noise-exposed manufacturing workers who visited occupational health facilities in Daegu, South Korea, between July 2014 and September 2017. Personal attenuation ratings (PARs) were calculated with F-MIRE. Paired t-tests were used to compare the differences in PAR (dB) before and after training, and generalized estimating equations (GEEs) were used to compare the differences in PAR according to the number of trainings. Results: Mean PARs increased after the first and second training, and the differences were statistically significant. Among the 30 participants who received all 4 trainings, PARs were significantly higher after each training than before the training. As the number of training increased, the differences in PARs significantly increased. When comparing pretraining PARs for each training session, we found statistically significant differences between the first and second training and between the second and third training, but not between the third and fourth training. Conclusion: In this study, the short- and long-term effects of earplug training were statistically significant. In particular, the PAR before and after the fourth training showed the greatest increase, and the PARs continued to increase during each training.

        Prevention of blister formation in electrolessly deposited copper film on organic substrates

        Electroless copper (Cu) plating is a key process to provide seed layers for the subsequent Cu electroplating in the printed wiring boards (PWBs). Due to the demand for lower power dissipation at higher temperatures and high signal frequencies, various kinds of organic materials have been newly introduced as substrates. However, they have come with defects such as delamination and/or blisters in the Cu layers on organic substrates, i.e., weak adhesion. Here we demonstrate the root cause and a prevention method of the blister formation. Various parameters affecting the blister formation have been investigated combined with the deposit thickness (internal stress), hydrogen gas evolution, and codeposited Ni content in the electroless Cu plating. It was not obvious that the compressive internal stress in deposits was directly related to the blister formation. Instead, the hydrogen gas evolution clearly turned out to be the key factor,and it was observed that Ni added plating solutions reduced the hydrogen gas evolution significantly and thus produced no blisters in the Cu deposits. The control of blisters would be more critical as the line and space become narrower in the production lines such as ball grid array (BGA) and high density interconnection (HDI).

        <P>A hysteresis-free and high-efficiency planar perovskite solar cell was developed using a solution-processed SnO2electron-transporting layer (ETL). Tin(iv) isopropoxide dissolved in isopropanol (IPA) was spin-coated on a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate in a nitrogen atmosphere. The effects of annealing temperature and precursor concentration on the photovoltaic performance were systematically investigated. The annealing temperature was scanned from 100 °C to 500 °C, whereby the 250 °C-annealed SnO2film demonstrated the best performance along with negligible current-voltage hysteresis. The SnO2film annealed at 250 °C was X-ray amorphous, while it was observed to be nanocrystallite from SnO2annealed at 500 °C. The faster stabilization of the photocurrent and lower interfacial capacitance for the 250 °C-annealed SnO2than for the 500 °C-annealed one were responsible for the markedly reduced hysteresis. The photovoltaic performance and hysteresis were influenced by the precursor concentration, where a concentration of 0.1 M showed hysteresis-free higher performance among the concentrations investigated ranging from 0.05 M to 0.2 M owing to a larger and faster photoluminescence quenching. The planar (HC(NH2)2PbI3)0.875(CsPbBr3)0.125perovskite that was formed on the 40 nm-thick, 0.1 M-based and 250 °C-annealed SnO2thin film delivered a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.17% averaged out from the forward scan PCE of 19.40% and the reverse scan PCE of 18.93%.</P>

        Factors that determine the Work Ability Index of street cleaners

Statistically significant (p<0.2) factors were selected and a multiple linear regression analysis was conducted with WAI scores as a dependent variable. Results: Age, body mass index, body fat percentage, the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-Korea (AUDIT-K) scores, the Psychosocial Well-Being Index-Short Form (PWI-SF) scores, maximal oxygen consumption ($VO_{2max}$), and hypertension showed statistically significant correlations with the WAI in the univariate analysis. In the multivariate analysis, the $VO_{2max}$, AUDIT-K scores, and PWI-SF scores were included in the regression equation. $VO_{2max}$ had the greatest effect on the standardization coefficient indicating the relative contribution of independent variables, followed by the AUDIT-K scores and the PWI-SF scores. Conclusion: Programs to increase workers' physical work ability and alleviate psychosocial stress and drinking habits should be developed and implemented in the future.

      • Pore-Engineered Silica Nanoreactors for Chemical Interaction-Guided Confined Synthesis of Porous Platinum Nanodendrites

        <P>Designing and synthesizing noble metal nanostructures with tunable porosity and nanoscopic intricacies is crucial for highly augmented surface properties and as gateway to the wide range of applications. Here, we develop a pore-engineered nanoreactor (<B>PENR</B>)-based approach toward the synthesis of porous platinum nanodendrites (<B>PtND</B>s) of “yolk-in-shell” and “shell-in-shell” morphologies and with tunable nanoscale porosity. In our strategy, first, various silica-based <B>PENR</B>s with variable porosity and each containing a single Au seed were synthesized by a successive base-catalyzed condensation reaction of a mixture of aminoalkyl-organosilanes in a one-pot reverse-microemulsion strategy, followed by selective silica hydrolysis reactions. The key strategy involved the addition of different silanes at different stages of silica condensation, rendering appropriately located fragile and rigid silica regions in silica nanospheres, which were conveniently carved into a “termite-nest” like structure with amine-rich nanocompartments. Further, growth of different <B>PtND</B>s was chemically guided by metallophilic amine groups through the pores and channels of nanoreactors, and overall morphologies of <B>PtND</B>s were highly customizable by the different confined nanospaces inside <B>PENR</B>s.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

      • 상호작용 맵에서 단백질 기능 예측

        단백질 상호작용 데이터는 현 생물정보학에서 기능이 알려지지 많은 단백질의 기능 예측에 높은 신뢰성이 있는 프로티오믹스의 계산 모델에 이용되고 있다. 일반적으로 이 단백질 기능 예측 알고리즘들은 대규모의 2차원 단백질-단백질 상호작용 맵에서 Guilt-by-Association 개념 기반으로 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 단백질-단백질 상호작용 데이터를 이용한 그래프 기반 단백질 기능 예측 모델을 개발하였다. 특히 이 모델은 대량의 상호작용 데이터에서 정확한 기능 예측을 수행할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 이를 위해 Yeast에 대한 단백질 상호작용 맵, Homology 및 Interaction Generality 를 이용하여 이 모델을 평가하였다.
