Snail family proteins (Snail1 and Slug/Snail2) are transcription factors that regulate transcription of molecules during epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Snail1/2 is known to bind to the E-box motif (CANNTG). The proteasome activity is decreased in EMT (Kim et al., 2011), and several E-box motifs are found in the promoters of genes coding for proteasome subunits. We used a new protein-binding microarray to specify the Slug/Snail2 binding sequence. Among 563 9-mer clusters, the motif CACCTGC yielded the highest P-value in the Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test. Within this motif, the A and T were absolutely required, and CC was preferred, but could be replaced by GG with little effect. In hepatocytes overexpressing Slug/Snail2, the 20S proteasome expression and proteasome activity were decreased partly due to the down-regulation of proteasome subunit beta type 2 (PSMB2) and PSMB3 transcription.

<P>Human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) is a major causative factor in the development of uterine cervical carcinomas. We investigated the role of E6/E7 in tumor formation. Skin-specific E6/E7 transgenic mice showed approximately twice as many tumors compared with nontransgenic mice in dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA)-initiated and a 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA)-promoted two-stage skin carcinogenesis. This model showed a significant increase of epidermal cell proliferation in the transgenic mice. The 8-hydroxy-2'deoxyguanosine (8OH-dG) detection assay showed that oxidative DNA damage was significantly higher in the transgenic mice after TPA treatments. The overexpression of E6/E7 in the skin in the DMBA/TPA two-stage-induced carcinogenesis model aggravated the incidence of tumor formation. HPV16 E6/E7 appears to act as an enhancer of carcinogenesis that requires initiation by DMBA and promotion by TPA.</P>
A Multi-core Based Real-time Scheduler Supporting Periodic and Sporadic Threads and Processes

This paper proposes, implements, and verifies a multicore real-time scheduler (MCRT scheduler) for periodic and sporadic threads and processes, and non-real-time processes where periodic and sporadic (or eventdriven) processes are processed according to real-time characteristics such as limited periods and deadlines. Using the Xenomai and Linux operating systems, the proposed MCRT scheduler was implemented and verified through various test cases designed for multicore operations. The proposed MCRT scheduler generates scheduling tables for periodic and sporadic threads and processes, based on which they are executed during the basic period. The MCRT scheduler was verified using several examples.

The purpose of this research is to develop a facile measurement system for colorimetric analysis for zinc powder and size analyzer for zeolite particles in order to reduce the process time for their characteristic analysis. We present facile smartphone-based analysis methods to measure and estimate the size of zinc power by using colorimeteric method and the size of zeolite particles by using ImageJ program which is an open-source program. The results show a possibility of our methods to replace the previous professional analysis processes with them.

이 글은 한일합병 전후부터 시작하여 1945년까지의 일제강점기 고적조사사업에 대해서 통시적으로 살펴보면서 당시 강원지역의 고적조사를 재조명하였고, 일제강점기 강원지역 고고자료의 활용과 그 전망에 대해서 살펴보았다. 한반도가 남북으로 분단된 상황에서 강원지역 전체의 고대사를 정립하고, 그 문화상을 제대로 복원하기 위해서는 비록 식민주의사학에 입각한 관학자들에 의한 것이나 현재 남아있는 자료 중에서는 일제강점기 고적조사 자료가 가장 현실적이면서 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 현재 강원도는 남과 북으로 분단되어 있고, 심지어 고성군과 철원군은 개별적 분단의 어려움까지 겪고 있다. 특히 이런 상황에서 객관적으로 활용할 수 있는 북강원도의 고분, 성곽, 취락, 사지 등의 고고자료는 사실상 일제강점기 조사자료에 기댈 수밖에 없는 실정이다. 앞으로 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해서는 우선적으로 이미 공간된 자료를 면밀히 검토해야 하고, 곳곳에 흩어져있는 자료를 수집 및 정리하여 체계적인 연구 자료로 활용할 수 있도록 토대를 마련해야만 한다. This article, first, diachronically examines the general investigation projects of historical sites between right before and after Japan’s annexation of Korea and 1945, also re-examines the situation of the investigation in Gangwon area at that time, and finally considers the use of those archaeological data recorded during the Japanese colonial period along with its prospects. In the situation in which the Korean Peninsula is divided into North and South, it is more likely to be realistic and useful to use the data written during the Japanese colonial period, in order to establish the ancient history of the entire Gangwon region, including North Gangwon-do, and to properly restore the region’s cultural images, although those surveys were conducted by government scholars based on the colonial view of history. Gangwon-do is divided into south and north, and even Goseong-gun and Cheorwon-gun are suffering from separate division. In this situation, we have no choice but to use the survey data during the Japanese colonial period, especially when it comes to the archaeological information on North Gangwon-do such as its tombs, fortresses, villages, temple sites. In order to overcome these difficulties in the future, it is also necessary, in addition to the already open data, to organize the new ones scattered here and there and to lay the foundation so that those materials can be used as systematic research data.
빅데이터 분석 서비스 운영 관리를 위한 빅데이터 서비스 브로커 설계 및 개발

본 논문에서는 기존의 산업 및 서비스 변화에 따라 발생하는 빅데이터 분석 서비스 처리를 위한 빅데이터 분석 서비스 브로커 시스템을 제안한다. 기존의 빅데이터 분석 시스템은 분석하는 시간 동안 지속적으로 자원을 점유하고 있어야 하며, 이러한 서비스를 이용하기 위해 내부에 대규모의 시스템을 구축하고 지속적으로 운영해야하는 단점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 빅데이터 분석에 필요한 자원을 효과적으로 사용하기 위해 클라우드 기반의 자원 관리와 연계하고 서비스 이용을 용이하게 하기 위해 단일 엔드포인트 기반의 빅데이터 분석 서비스 호출 구조를 설계하였다. 이를 통해 빅데이터 서비스 분석에 소요되는 자원 점유에 따라 동적으로 자원을 생성 관리하여 자원을 보다 효과적으로 이용할 수 있는지 테스트베드를 구축하여 서비스 이용 및 자원 사용을 효과적으로 하는지 확인하였다. 또한, 이를 통해 대규모 자원을 지속적으로 점유해야하는 빅데이터 분석 플랫폼의 자원사용에 대한 한계를 일부 해소하여 자원을 효과적으로 이용할 수 있는 것을 확인하였다.
