Uruguay Round(UR) has a lot of implication in the forest product market as well as the other sectors of the economy. Jujube, one of the major forest products in Kyungsan county would be affected by the free trade resulting from the agreement on UR. To establish effective policy measures dealing with negative effects on free trade, if any, the effect of UR on Jujube producers should be figured out. In this context, the purpose of this study are (1) estimating the demand, supply and its price functions of the Jujube market and (2) forecasting the effect of UR on Jujube growers. The result is such as; Demand funtion : Q^d_t〓 - 19032-714.3203·ln p_t+5179.3947·ln GNP_t Supply function : Q^s_t= - 6975.15+266.871516·ln P_t-1+1159.4668·ln Q_t-1 Price function : ln P_t=1.41225-0.02004·ln Q_t-1+0.053464·ln P_t-1+0.693957·ln GNP The damage to the Jujube growers is estimated to be 34 billion won, 37 billion won, 39 billion won and 48 billion won by 2001 if jujube's tariffication rate in the year of 2001 is reduced 30% 40% 50% and 90%, respectively.

This research was conducted to estimate the use and preservation values of Jirisan national park, using a dichotomous choice contingent valuation. Jirisan national park was estimated to have the use value of 6,377 won per visitor. In terms of preservation value was estimated 13,030 won per housed per year. The results of this research show that Jirisan national park generated considerable use and preservation values, exceeding far greater than current admission fees. The findings also indicate that the estimated economic value provides enough justification for the national park service to increase admission fees in order to maintain the quality of the natural environment. This result may contribute to guidance on the pricing policy of national park managers and practitioners, although public policy may be made in the political arena.
Measuring the Preservation Value for Endangered Wildlife in Korea
Sang yoel Han,Tae kyun Kim,Kwan Choi 한국농업경제학회 2000 農業經濟硏究 Vol.41 No.4
This article estimates the preservation value of Manchurian black bear, a prominent endangered wildlife species, in South Korea. A dichotomous-choice contingent valuation with actual payment is used to estimate the preservation value including option. existence, and bequest values. This study also reveals some variables of explaining the preservation value. The results show that the preservation value is estimated to be U.S. $4.86 per household. Results also indicate that the variable of environmental attitudes is important in explaining willingness to pay. The findings suggest that visitors of Chirisan National Park strongly support for the preservation of endangered wildlife species.
Measuring Economic Value for Endangered Korean Goral
Han, Sang-Yoel Korean Society of Forest Science 2008 한국산림과학회지 Vol.97 No.5
The purpose of this paper is to examine willingness to pay (WTP) for endangered species, the Korean goral, of Woraksan National Park in South Korea. The median of the WTP is adopted to estimate the value because it will not be affected by the extreme values. The estimated household median WTP using a logit model for Korean goral conservation in Woraksan National Park was 15,221 won. The estimated value of the WTP in relation to the Korean goral has some policy implications. especially in terms of implementing policy to protect the Korean goral. The result shows that the public conservation program does have a positive WTP for the conservation of the Korean goral. This implies that the Korean goral is an important species that needs to be maintained, the government has been expended a large sum of money in an attempt to protect it.
