        Improved information fusion approach based on D-S evidence theory

        Conventional D-S evidence theory has an unavoidable disadvantage in that it will give counter-intuitive result when fusing high conflict information. This paper proposes an improved method to solve this problem. By reassigning weight factors before fusing, the method can give reasonable results especially when the initial weight factors of conflict evidences are almost equal. It gives an adjustable factor to adjust the reassigning force. An example is given to illustrate these advantages.

      • ANXA2 Regulates the Behavior of SGC-7901 Cells

        ANXA2, a member of the annexin family, is overexpressed and plays important roles in tumor development. However, the significance of ANXA2 expression in gastric carcinoma has not been clarified.To elucidate its roles in growth of gastric cancer, ANXA2 expression in SGC-7901 cells was inhibited with a designated siRNA, then cell proliferation, cell cycling, apoptosis and motility were determined by MTT assay, flow cytometry, Hoechst 33342 staining and wound healing assay, respectively. To further assess the behavior of ANXA2 deleted SGC-7901 cells, changes of microstructures were observed under fluorescence microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy and electron microscopy. We found that inhibition of ANXA2 expression caused cell proliferation to decrease significantly with G1 arrest, motility to be reduced with changes in pseudopodia/filopodia structure and F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin expression, and apoptosis to be enhanced albeit without significance. At the same time, ANXA2 deletion resulted in fewer pseudopodia/filopodia, non-stained areas were increased, contact inhibition among cells reappeared, and expression of F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin was decreased, with induction of polymerized disassembled forms. Taken together, these data suggest that ANXA2 overexpression is important to maintain the malignancy of cancer cells, and this member of the annexin family has potential to be considered as a target for the gene therapy of gastric carcinoma.

      • S-benzyl-cysteine-mediated Cell Cycle Arrest and Apoptosis Involving Activation of Mitochondrial-dependent Caspase Cascade through the p53 Pathway in Human Gastric Cancer SGC-7901 Cells

        S-benzyl-cysteine (SBC) is a structural analog of S-allylcysteine (SAC), which is one of the major water-soluble compounds in aged garlic extract. In this study, anticancer activities and the underlying mechanisms of SBC action were investigated and compared these with those of SAC using human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells. SBC significantly suppressed the survival rate of SGC-7901 cells in a concentration- and time-dependent manner, and the inhibitory activities of SBC were stronger than those of SAC. Flow cytometry revealed that SBC induced G2-phase arrest and apoptosis in SGC-7901 cells. Typical apoptotic morphological changes were observed by Hoechst 33258 dye assay. SBC-treatment dramatically induced the dissipation of mitochondrial membrane potential (${\Delta}{\Psi}m$), and enhanced the enzymatic activities of caspase-9 and caspase-3 whilst hardly affecting caspase-8 activity. Furthermore, Western blotting indicated that SBC-induced apoptosis was accompanied by up-regulation of the expression of p53, Bax and the down-regulation of Bcl-2. Taken together, this study suggested that SBC exerts cytotoxic activity involving activation of mitochondrial-dependent apoptosis through p53 and Bax/Bcl-2 pathways in human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells.

        가창 찐빵 골목의 플레이스 브랜딩 디자인 개발연구

        찐빵은 대한민국의 대표 먹거리이자 전통 간식이다. 가창찐빵거리는 대구광역시에서 청도로 가는 30번국도 변을 중심으로 500여에 걸쳐 형성되어 있으며 10여 곳의 찐빵집이 성업 중이다. 2000년 첫 번째 찐빵집이 들어선 이후, 2002년 대구 지역 방송 에 알려지면서 입소문을 타기 시작하였고, 2003년에는 전국적인 관심을 얻으며 특성화 골목으로 명성을 떨치게 되었다. 찐빵 특화 거리로 대구 시뿐 만 아니라 전국적으로 유명세를 떨쳤던 가 창 찐빵 거리는 현재 상인들이 경기 침체와 매출 감소로 어려움을 겪고 있다. 2019년의 코로나 때문에 상황이 더 설상 가상이다. 본 연구는 이상 실제상황을 반영하여 지역경제 활성화에 대한 지역특화 전략의 중요성이 증대됨에 따라 지역특수성을 강조하여 가창 찐빵 골목의 부진을 진단했다. 플레이스 브랜딩과 복합문화공간에 관한 선행연구 및 이론적 고찰을 통해 플레이스 브랜딩의 3가지 유형인 ‘장소 기반, 콘텐츠 기반, 환경 문화적 기반’을 도출하고 복합문화공간의 4가지 유형인 ‘문화예술 형, 상업 공간 형, 체험 공간 형, 지역 자원융합 형’을 도출하여 종합 디자인과 서비스 디자인 분야에서 전략적 연결점을 찾아 맞춤형 요소를 융합하는 방안을 제시하며, 브랜드공간과 서비스디자인에 있어 새로운 방향과 아이디어와 분석을 제시하고 실사 및 디자인개발을 통해 가창찐빵골목의 재생을 희망하는 목적을 달성하였다. 본 연구를 통해 지역 브랜드 향상을 위한 방법으로 지역자원인 문화와 역사적 건물들을 활용하고 지역주민과의 연계를 통한 프로그램을 계획하여 그 지역만의 상징성을 느낄 수 있는 장소로 변화된다면 이와 동시에 본 연구는 플레이스 브랜드에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 지역의 브랜드 파워에 대한 경제활 성화, 지역 특성화 홍보의 효과가 있으며, 새로운 가치 창출을 통한 과정의 창출을 희망하며, 미래의 플레이스 브랜딩 디자인과 마케팅 분야 및 체계적인 창의적 방법의 결과 도출에 의의가 있다. Pastry is a representative food and traditional snack of the Republic of Korea, and since the first pastry shop was built in 2000, Kachang Pastry Alley became widely known on Daegu area broadcasts in 2002 and began to spread by word of mouth, gaining national attention and fame as a special alleyway in 2003. Kachang Pastry Street, once renowned in Daegu and nationwide as a specialty street for confectionery, is now in difficulty due to economic recession and reduced sales. The covid-19 that began in 2019 has added to the woes of a declining pastry street. This study reflects the reality described above, diagnosing the depressed state of the Kachang pastry alley as the importance of regional distinctiveness strategies for revitalizing the regional economy increases, emphasizing regional specificities. Through prior research and theoretical investigation of Place Branding and integrated cultural spaces, three types of Place Branding are derived: place-based, content-based and environment-culture-based, and four types of integrated cultural spaces are derived: culture and art-based, commercial space-based, experience space-based and regional resource integration-based. In addition to identifying strategic links in the field of integrated design and service design, the project also proposes new directions, ideas and analyses in the area of brand space and service design, with the aim of regenerating Kachang Steamed Bun Alley through field research and design development. Through this study, as a method of enhancing the brand of this area, cultural and historical buildings that make use of the local resources are planned to be transformed into symbolic places where the uniqueness of the area can be felt through projects that connect with the residents of the area. At the same time, this study, by examining the theory of local branding, has the power to activate the economy, promote regional effects and hopefully create new value after arriving at a process that is important for future findings in the field of local brand design and marketing as well as systematic creative approaches.

        Prospectively Electrocardiogram-Gated High-Pitch Spiral Acquisition Mode Dual-Source CT Coronary Angiography in Patients with High Heart Rates: Comparison with Retrospective Electrocardiogram-Gated Spiral Acquisition Mode

        Objective: To assess the image quality and effective radiation dose of prospectively electrocardiogram (ECG)-gated high-pitch spiral acquisition mode (flash mode) of dual-source CT (DSCT) coronary angiography (CTCA) in patients with high heart rates (HRs) as compared with retrospectively ECG-gated spiral acquisition mode. Materials and Methods: Two hundred and sixty-eight consecutive patients (132 female, mean age: 55 ± 11 years) with mean HR > 65 beats per minute (bpm) were prospectively included in this study. The patients were divided into two groups. Collection was performed in group A CTCA using flash mode setting at 20-30% of the R-R interval, and retrospectively ECG-gated spiral acquisition mode in group B. The image noise, contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), image quality scores, effective radiation dose and influencing factors on image quality between the two groups were assessed. Results: There were no significant differences in image quality scores and proportions of non-diagnostic coronary artery segments between two groups (image quality scores: 1.064 ± 0.306 [group A] vs. 1.084 ± 0.327 [group B], p = 0.063; proportion of non-diagnostic coronary artery segments: segment-based analysis 1.52% (group A) vs. 1.74% (group B), p = 0.345; patient-based analysis 7.5% (group A) vs. 6.7% (group B), p = 0.812). The estimated radiation dose was 1.0 ± 0.16 mSv in group A and 7.1 ± 1.05 mSv in group B (p = 0.001). Conclusion: In conclusion, in patients with HRs > 65 bpm without cardiac arrhythmia, the prospectively high-pitch spiral-acquisition mode with image-acquired timing set at 20-30% of the R-R interval provides a similar image quality and low rate of non-diagnostic coronary segments to the retrospectively ECG-gated low-pitch spiral acquisition mode, with significant reduction of radiation exposure.         In this paper, we are concerned with the following eigenvalue problems of m-point boundary value problem for p-Laplacian dynamic equation on time scales <수식> where φ_p(u) = |u|^p−2u, p > 1 and ¸ λ>0 is a real parameter. Under certain assumptions, some new results on existence of one or two positive solution and nonexistence are obtained for λ evaluated in different intervals. Our work develop and improve many known results in the literature even for the continual case. In doing so the usual restriction that f^0 = lim_(u→0)+ f(u)/φ_p(u) and f_∞ = lim_(u→∞) f(u)/φ_p(u) exist is removed. As an applications, an example is given to illustrate the main results obtained.         Protective effect of acacetin on sepsis-induced acute lung injury via its anti-inflammatory and antioxidative activity

        Sepsis is a clinical syndrome with no effective protective or therapeutic treatments. Acacetin, a natural flavonoid compound, has anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects which can potentially work to reduce sepsis. We investigated the potential protective effect of acacetin on sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI) ALI and dissect out the underlying mechanisms. Mice were divided into five groups: a sham group, a sepsis-induced ALI group, and three sepsis groups pre-treated with 20, 40, and 80 mg/kg body weight of acacetin. We found that acacetin significantly attenuated sepsis-induced ALI, in histological examinations and lung edema. Additionally, acacetin treatment decreased protein and inflammatory cytokine concentration and the number of infiltrated inflammatory cells in BALF compared with that in the non-treated sepsis mice. Pulmonary myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity was lower in the acacetin-pre-treated sepsis groups than in the sepsis group. The mechanism underlying the protective effect of acacetin on sepsis is related to the regulation of certain antioxidation genes, including inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), superoxide dismutases (SODs), and heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1).Taken together, our results indicate that acacetin pre-treatment inhibits sepsis-induced ALI through its anti-inflammatory and antioxidative activity, suggesting that acacetin may be a potential protective agent for sepsis-induced ALI.

        Application of HTB-SiHa Cells Transfected with a Recombinant Plasmid for External Quality Assessment of Chlamydia trachomatis PCR

        Background: The participation of laboratories in external quality assessment (EQA) pro- grams is required for the quality assurance of nucleic acid amplification of Chlamydia tra- chomatis . This study aimed to construct a new quality control (QC) material applicated in EQA of C. trachomatis PCR. Methods: A QC material-HTB-SiHa cells transfected with a recombinant plasmid contain- ing the cryptic plasmid sequence-was constructed for C. trachomatis PCR detection, and four different panels, each consisting of 4 positive samples with serial dilution of the con- structed QC material and 1 negative sample, were distributed by the National Center for Clinical Laboratories among four groups of 275, 268, 317, and 304 participants across China from 2011 through 2012. A total of eight commercial kits were used for C. tracho- matis PCR detection in participants. Results: Nine laboratories reported false-positive results (0.9%). As the series dilution in- creased, the correct reporting of the data sets decreased; the lowest correct rate was 96.3% in the weakest positive samples (10 4 copies/mL). Eight laboratories reported false- positive results, and 42 laboratories reported false-negative results in the EQA detection of C. trachomatis . No significant differences were observed in the detection of the con- structed C. trachomatis positive samples (97.9%, 98.5%, 100%, 98.5%; P =0.36) and negative samples (100%, 99.0%, 100%, 99.0%; P =0.764) using four commercial kits commonly used in China. Conclusions: The results of the EQA study indicated that the constructed material pro- vides a noninfectious, stable control material with sufficient volume for PCR detection of C. trachomatis.

        Effect of Matrix Metalloproteinase on Autolysis of Sea Cucumber Stichopus japonicus

        To investigate the relationship between matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) and autolysis of sea cucumber Stichopus japonicus, the dermis homogenate was incubated at 25oC to induce autolysis. EDTA Na2 and 1,10-phenanthroline were used to verify the effect of MMPs on autolysis, which was measured by soluble protein and protein pattern. Soluble protein level increased during a 6-h autolysis process. SDS-PAGE demonstrated obvious protein degradation with the concomitant occurrence of degradation products. The above two indicators could be inhibited significantly by EDTA Na2 and 1,10-phenanthroline, indicating that MMPs might play a significant role in autolysis of sea cucumber.

In doing so the usual restriction that $f_0=lim_{u{\rightarrow}0}+f(u)/\varphi_p(u)$ and $f_\infty = lim_{u{\rightarrow}{\infty}}f(u)/\varphi_p({u})$ exist is removed. As an applications, an example is given to illustrate the main results obtained.
