Resilience between Heterosexual and LGB Mental Health Counselors
Treye Rosenberger,Na Mi Bang 한국상담학회 2023 Journal of Asia Pacific counseling Vol.13 No.1
Being a mental health counselor increases the risk of burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. Resilience is important in understanding the psychological health risks and trauma experienced among mental health counselors. This study investigated resilience differences between lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGB) and heterosexual mental health counselors. LGB mental health counselors might experience maladaptive factors to a greater degree and possess differences in resilience as well, given their marginalization. The study consisted of 523 mental health counselors who completed the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). Mean differences were assessed between heterosexual and LGB mental health counselors using an independent samples t-test, where it found that LGB professionals report lower resiliency than their counterparts.
Antimicrobial Activity of Polymeric Microfibers Containing Coix Lacryma-Jobi Extract

Wound dressings are based on the creation of ideal environments for cell mobility, gas exchanges and to promote tissue healing and regeneration, besides controlling bacterial proliferation. Electrospinning is a simple, cheap and common technique used for such purposes and Ecovio®, a polymeric blend based on biocompatible polymers (poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) and poly(lactic acid) (PLA)), is a good example of polymer with unique properties for wound dressing materials development. To ensure antimicrobial properties, Job’s tears (Coix lacrymajobi) extract was incorporated into the material. The obtained fiber mats were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffractometry (DRX), optical microscopy (OM), and microbiological analysis. The interaction among the compounds of the extract and the polymeric matrix was inferred by the increase in the crystallinity degree and thermal stability of the fibers/extract. Also, a decrease in the diameter, roughness, and fiber homogeneity was observed. It happened due to the presence of extract in the fibers. Microbiological analysis (antimicrobial activity against S. aureus) indicated the effectiveness of the fibers/extract in preventing this bacteria growth, demonstrating the potential of this material for wound dressing purposes.
Graduate Students’ Training on Disability in Counselor Education Programs
Na Mi Bang,Treye Rosenberger,Victoria Maneev,Roseina Britton 한국상담학회 2021 Journal of Asia Pacific counseling Vol.11 No.1
Researchers have focused on how to effectively incorporate disability knowledge into the core counselor curriculum in counseling and counselor education programs. Currently, little is known about disability content in counseling programs. This study investigates the competencies of master’s students with regards to disability knowledge and disability content within master’s counseling programs. The findings of this study offer a broad perspective on graduate students’ learning in the counseling profession. Implications on disability content areas in counseling programs are suggested.
An unconventional role for miRNA: let-7 activates Toll-like receptor 7 and causes neurodegeneration
Lehmann, Sabrina M,Kr체ger, Christina,Park, Boyoun,Derkow, Katja,Rosenberger, Karen,Baumgart, Jan,Trimbuch, Thorsten,Eom, Gina,Hinz, Michael,Kaul, David,Habbel, Piet,K채lin, Roland,Franzoni, Eleonora,Ry Nature Publishing Group, a division of Macmillan P 2012 NATURE NEUROSCIENCE Vol.15 No.6
Activation of innate immune receptors by host-derived factors exacerbates CNS damage, but the identity of these factors remains elusive. We uncovered an unconventional role for the microRNA let-7, a highly abundant regulator of gene expression in the CNS, in which extracellular let-7 activates the RNA-sensing Toll-like receptor (TLR) 7 and induces neurodegeneration through neuronal TLR7. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from individuals with Alzheimer's disease contains increased amounts of let-7b, and extracellular introduction of let-7b into the CSF of wild-type mice by intrathecal injection resulted in neurodegeneration. Mice lacking TLR7 were resistant to this neurodegenerative effect, but this susceptibility to let-7 was restored in neurons transfected with TLR7 by intrauterine electroporation of Tlr7??/?? fetuses. Our results suggest that microRNAs can function as signaling molecules and identify TLR7 as an essential element in a pathway that contributes to the spread of CNS damage.

<P>By defining the chromosomal breakpoint of a balanced t(10;12) translocation from a subject with Kallmann syndrome and scanning genes in its vicinity in unrelated hypogonadal subjects, we have identified <I>WDR11</I> as a gene involved in human puberty. We found six patients with a total of five different heterozygous <I>WDR11</I> missense mutations, including three alterations (A435T, R448Q, and H690Q) in WD domains important for β propeller formation and protein-protein interaction. In addition, we discovered that WDR11 interacts with EMX1, a homeodomain transcription factor involved in the development of olfactory neurons, and that missense alterations reduce or abolish this interaction. Our findings suggest that impaired pubertal development in these patients results from a deficiency of productive WDR11 protein interaction.</P>
Sources of Innovation in Developing Economies: Reflections on the Asian Experience
Nathan Rosenberg 서울대학교 경제연구소 2013 Seoul journal of economics Vol.26 No.3
This article is concerned with the remarkable development of technological and economic capabilities by Korean and Taiwanese firms, particularly in electronics, and Indian firms in software and a few other fields. While the cases differ in many aspects, they all involve active learning, in some cases through reverse engineering, requiring a considerable amount to technical and economic sophistication. All of them also involved selling on sophisticated markets which provided both feedback and pressure to learn rapidly and well. The cases teach us a lot about the mechanisms involved in successful technological and economic catch up.
조직 행동 : 상대하기 힘든 동료와의 인간관계 Coping With Difficult Co-Workers
Buzawa,Rosenberg 이화여자대학교 법정대학 비서학과 1992 비서학연구 Vol.- No.12
