IMPROVED VERSION ON SOME INEQUALITIES OF A POLYNOMIAL

Rashmi Rekha Sahoo,N. Reingachan,Robinson Soraisam,Khangembam Babina Devi,Barchand Chanam 경남대학교 기초과학연구소 2023 Nonlinear Functional Analysis and Applications Vol.28 No.4

Let $P(z)$ be a polynomial of degree $n$ and $P(z)\neq0$ in $|z|<1$. Then for every real $\alpha$ and $R>1$,Aziz \cite{Aziz1} proved that$$ \max_{|z|=1}|P(Rz)-P(z)|\leq \frac{R^{n}-1}{2}\left(M_{\alpha}^{2}+M_{\alpha+\pi}^{2}\right)^{\frac{1}{2}},$$where\begin{equation*}M_{\alpha}=\max_{1\leq k\leq n}|P(e^{i(\alpha+2k\pi) n})|. \end{equation*}\par In this paper, we establish some improvements and generalizations of the above inequality concerning the polynomials and their ordinary derivatives.

Measurement and correlation of thermodynamic properties of ternary mixtures of oxygenated fuel

        Suman Gahlyan,Rekha Devi,Sweety Verma,Manju Rani,박소진,Sanjeev Maken 한국화학공학회 2020 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.37 No.7

Oxygenated fuels are of great interest as these are more energy efficient and environment friendly. Therefore, thermodynamic properties like density, ultrasonic speed and refractive indices of diisopropyl ether+benzene+nhexane mixtures were measured experimentally at 298.15 K, 308.15 K and 318.15 K. Excess properties like volume (Vm E ), isentropic compressibility (KS E), intermolecular free length (Lf E) as well as deviation in ultrasonic speed (u) and refractive index (n) of these mixtures were derived from experimental data. The Vm E values were also fitted to the Singh, Cibulka and Nagata equations, and the same were also predicted using Prigogine-Flory-Patterson theory and four geometrical models from constituent binary Vm E data. The u data were correlated by Nomato, van Dael, impedance dependence correlations and CFT theory at 298.15 K. Lf E and Va E were also calculated using Jacobson free length theory at 298.15 K. The n data were also predicted by Arago-Biot, Gladstone-Dale, Weiner, Heller, Newton, Eyring and John mixing rules.

      • CYP2E1 Genetic Polymorphism with Dietary, Tobacco, Alcohol Habits, H. pylori Infection Status and Susceptibility to Stomach Cancer in Mizoram, India

        Malakar, Mridul,Devi, K. Rekha,Phukan, Rup Kumar,Kaur, Tanvir,Deka, Manab,Puia, Lalhriat,Baruah, Debajit,Mahanta, Jagadish,Narain, Kanwar Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.20

Background: The incidence of stomach cancer in India is highest in the state of Mizoram. In this population based matched case-control study, we evaluated the relationship between CYP450 2E1 RsaI polymorphism and risk of stomach cancer taking into considering various important dietary habits along with tobacco, alcohol consumption and H. pylori infection status. Materials and Methods: A total of 105 histologically confirmed stomach cancer cases and 210 matched healthy population controls were recruited. CYP2E1 RsaI genotypes were determined by PCR-RFLP and H. pylori infection status by ELISA. Information on various dietary, tobacco and alcohol habits was recorded in a standard questionnaire. Results: Our study revealed no significant association between the CYP2E1 RsaI polymorphism and overall risk of stomach cancer in Mizoram. However, we observed a non-significant protective effect of the variant allele (A) of CYP2E1 against stomach cancer. Tobacco smokers carrying C/C genotype have three times more risk of stomach cancer, as compared to non-smokers carrying C/C genotype. Both Meiziol and cigarette current and past smokers who smoked for more than 10 times per day and carrying the (C/C) genotype are more prone to develop stomach cancer. Smoke dried fish and preserved meat (smoked/sun dried) consumers carrying C/C genotype possesses higher risk of stomach cancer. No significant association between H. pylori infection and CYP2E1 RsaI polymorphism in terms of stomach cancer was observed. Conclusions: Although no direct association between the CYP2E1 RsaI polymorphism and stomach cancer was observed, relations with different tobacco and dietary risk habits in terms of developing stomach cancer exist in this high risk population of north-eastern part of India. Further in-depth study recruiting larger population is required to shed more light on this important problem.

        Malakar, Mridul,Devi, K. Rekha,Phukan, Rup Kumar,Kaur, Tanvir,Deka, Manab,Puia, Lalhriat,Sailo, Lalrinliana,Lalhmangaihi, T.,Barua, Debajit,Rajguru, Sanjib Kumar,Mahanta, Jagadish,Narain, Kanwar Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.2

Background: This study was carried out to investigate the interaction of p53 codon 72 polymorphism, dietary and tobacco habits with reference to risk of stomach cancer in Mizoram, India. A total of 105 histologically confirmed stomach cancer cases and 210 age, sex and ethnicity matched healthy population controls were included in this study. Materials and Methods: The p53 codon 72 polymorphism was detected by PCR-RFLP and sequencing. H. pylori infection status was determined by ELISA. Information on various dietary and tobacco related habits was recorded with a standard questionnaire. Results: This study revealed that overall, the Pro/Pro genotype was significantly associated with a higher risk of stomach cancer (OR, 2.54; 95%CI, 1.01-6.40) as compared to the Arg/Arg genotype. In gender stratified analysis, the Pro/Pro genotype showed higher risk (OR, 7.50; 95%CI, 1.20-47.0) than the Arg/Arg genotype among females. Similarly, the Pro/Pro genotype demonstrated higher risk of stomach cancer (OR, 6.30; 95%CI, 1.41-28.2) among older people (>60 years). However, no such associations were observed in males and in individuals <60 years of age. Smoke dried fish and preserved meat (smoke dried/sun dried) consumers were at increased risk of stomach cancer (OR, 4.85; 95%CI, 1.91-12.3 and OR, 4.22; 95%CI, 1.46-12.2 respectively) as compared to non-consumers. Significant gene-environment interactions exist in terms of p53 codon 72 polymorphism and stomach cancer in Mizoram. Tobacco smokers with Pro/Pro and Arg/Pro genotypes were at higher risk of stomach cancer (OR, 16.2; 95%CI, 1.72-153.4 and OR, 9.45; 95%CI, 1.09-81.7 respectively) than the non-smokers Arg/Arg genotype carriers. The combination of tuibur user and Arg/Pro genotype also demonstrated an elevated risk association (OR, 4.76; 95%CI, 1.40-16.21). Conclusions: In conclusion, this study revealed that p53 codon 72 polymorphism and dietary and tobacco habit interactions influence stomach cancer development in Mizoram, India.

      • Genetic Polymorphism of Glutathione S-transferases M1 and T1, Tobacco Habits and Risk of Stomach Cancer in Mizoram, India

        Malakar, Mridul,Devi, K. Rekha,Phukan, Rup Kumar,Kaur, Tanvir,Deka, Manab,Puia, Lalhriat,Barua, Debajit,Mahanta, Jagadish,Narain, Kanwar Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.9

Aim: The incidence of stomach cancer in Mizoram is highest in India. We have conducted a population based matched case-control study to identify environmental and genetic risk factors in this geographical area. Methods: A total of 102 histologically confirmed stomach cancer cases and 204 matched healthy population controls were recruited. GSTM1 and GSTT1 genotypes were determined by PCR and H. pylori infections were determined by ELISA. Results: Tobacco-smoking was found to be an important risk factor for high incidence of stomach cancer in Mizoram. Meiziol (local cigarette) smoking was a more important risk factor than other tobacco related habits. Cigarette, tuibur (tobacco smoke infused water) and betel nut consumption synergistically increased the risk of stomach cancer. Polymorphisms of GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes were not found to be directly associated with stomach cancer in Mizoram. However, they appeared to be effect modifiers. Persons habituated with tobacco smoking and/or tuibur habit had increased risk of stomach cancer if they carried the GSTM1 null genotype and GSTT1 non-null genotype. Conclusion: Tobacco smoking, especially meiziol is the important risk factor for stomach cancer in Mizoram. GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes modify the effect of tobacco habits. This study is a first step in understanding the epidemiology of stomach cancer in Mizoram, India.

Suman Rani,Balwinder Singh,Rekha Devi 한국전기전자재료학회 2021 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.22 No.6

1-Trit and 2-Trit Ternary comparator circuits using Complementary Metal–Oxide–Semiconductor (CMOS) as well as Carbon Nanotube Field-Effect Transistor (CNTFET) is proposed and investigated for Low Power High-performance applications. The design and simulation are investigated and authenticated using Hailey Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit (HSPICE) with Predictive technology model (PTM) low power 32 nm metal gate/High-K/Strained-Si Model for CMOS and 32 nm Stanford Model for CNTFET. The CNTFET based design is compared with the CMOS design in terms of signifi cant design aspects, specifically delay, Average Power consumption and Power delay product (PDP). A comparison is performed among CMOS and CNTFET based ternary comparator circuits which reveals that CNTFETs can lead to more efficient ternary circuits. In terms of delay and power consumption, the CNTFET based 1-Trit Ternary Comparator performs better than the CMOS based 1-Trit Ternary Comparator as the delay and Average power consumption are reduced by 89.7% and 57.3% in CNTFET type as compared to the CMOS based 1-Trit Ternary Comparator design. Similarly, in the case of the 2-Trit comparator, the CNTFET based design performs better than the CMOS-based design as the delay and Average power consumption are reduced by 88.7% and 42% in the CNTFET type.

      • Volumetric and optical studies of binary and ternary mixture of diisopropyl ether, benzene and hexane

박소진,( Manju Rani ),( Rekha Devi ),( Sanjeev Markin ) 한국공업화학회 2019 한국공업화학회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.2019 No.0

Experimentally measured data of various thermophysical properties of possible mixtures containing oxygenates and components of gasoline such as alkanes, aromatics over a wide temperature range, is very helpful for formulation of environmental friendly fuel, petrochemical additives. In this work, Density and refractive indices of the binary and ternary liquid mixtures of diisopropyl ether, benzene and n-hexane were experimentally measured from 298.15 K to 318.15 K over the entire composition range. Excess molar volume and deviation in refractive index of binary and ternary mixtures were fitted to the Redlich-Kister equation and the Singh equation respectively. The excess volume data of binary and ternary mixtures have also been interpreted using Prigogine-Flory-Patterson theory. Various mixing rules were used for theoretical determination of refractive indices of the binary and ternary mixtures. Temperature effects were also studied in terms of molecular interactions.

Studies on Multi-step Addition of NMP in (LiNi0.80Co0.15Al0.05) (NCA) Cathode Slurry Preparation and its Rheological, Mechanical Strength and Electrochemical Properties for Li-ion Cells

Vasudevarao Pasala,Satyanarayana Maddukuri,V. Sethuraman,Rekha Lankipalli,Devi Gajula,Venkateswarlu Manne The Korean Electrochemical Society 2023 Journal of electrochemical science and technology Vol.14 No.3

For electrode stability and the electrochemical performance of the Li-ion cell, it is essential that the active ingredients and unique additives in the polymer binder be well dispersed with the solvent-based slurry. The efficient procedure used to create the slurry affects the rheological characteristics of the electrode slurry. When successively adding different steps of Nmethyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) solvent to the cathode composition, it is evenly disseminated. The electrochemical performance of the Li-ion cells and the electrodes made with slurry formed by single step and multiple steps of addition of NMP solvent are examined. To preform rheological properties of cathode electrode slurry on Ni-rich Lithium Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum Oxide (LiNi0.80Co0.15Al0.05) (NCA). Also, we investigate different step addition of electrode formation and mechanical strength characterization like peel strength. According to the EIS study, a multi-step electrode slurry has lower internal resistance than a single-step electrode slurry, which results in better electrical characteristics and efficiency. Further, microstructure of electrodes is obtained electrochemical performance in the 18650 cylindrical cells with targeted capacity of 1.5 Ah. The slurry of electrodes prepared by single step and multiple steps of addition of NMP solvent and its effect on the fabrication of 1.5 Ah cells. A three-step solvent addition on slurry has been found to be a lower internal resistance than a single-step electrode slurry as confirmed by the EIS analysis, yielding improved electrical properties and efficiency.
