      • Modeling, Testing and Numerical Simulation on Hot Forming of HSS

Ning Ma Ping Hu,Guozhe Shen Wenhua Wu 한국소성가공학회 2010 기타자료 Vol.2010 No.6

The thermal-mechanical-transformation coupled relationship of microalloy steel has important significance in forming mechanism and numerical simulation of hot forming. Tensile and quenching experiments are implemented at high temperature, and then the thermal-mechanical-transformation coupled constitutive models of hot forming are developed. Based these models, the nonlinear large-deformation dynamic explicit finite element equations are proposed. The phase transformation latent heat is introduced into the analysis of temperature field during the hot forming process. Based on the independently developed commercial CAE software for sheet metal forming, named KMAS (King-Mesh Analysis System), the numerical simulation module of hot forming is developed, which considers multi-field coupled models, nonlinear and large deformation analysis. Then the hot forming process of a reinforced beam inside the automobile door is simulated by the KMAS software, and compared with its hot forming experimental testing. The experimental results indicate the validity and efficiency of the present multi-field coupled constitutive models and numerical simulation software KMAS of hot forming.

      • Quality of Life of Male Spouse Caregivers for Breast Cancer Patients in China

        Zhu, Ping,Fu, Ju-Fang,Wang, Bo,Lin, Jing,Wang, Yan,Fang, Ning-Ning,Wang, Dan-Dan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.10

Background: The aim of this study was to describe the characteristics of male spouse caregivers of breast cancer patients in China, assess their quality of life (QOL), and investigate the influencing factors. Materials and Methods: A total of 243 breast cancer patient-spouse caregiver dyads were recruited from four hospitals in Shanxi and Anhui province of China. A cross-sectional design was applied to collect data and the Chinese version of the Medical Outcomes Study 36-item Short Form (SF-36) was used to measure caregivers' QOL, and the Chinese version of M.D. Anderson Symptom Inventory (MDASI-C) was applied to measure patient symptom severity and interference. Pearson's correlation was used to examine the correlations between caregiver burden and QOL. The multiple regression analysis was used to determine the most predictive factors influencing QOL. Results: The scores of all SF-36 scales were above 50.0, which were much lower than that of general mainland Chinese males. Mental QOL was significantly worse than physical QOL. Spouses demographic characteristics, caregiving-related variables and patient symptoms were related to spouse QOL. Caregiver burden has a negative relationship with QOL. Conclusions: A decrease in life events and patient symptoms, as well as increase in spouse sleeping time and family income, ought to improve QOL.

Application of Terahertz Spectroscopy and Imaging in the Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer

        Ping Zhang,Shuncong Zhong,Junxi Zhang,Jian Ding,Zhenxiang Liu,Yi Huang,Ning Zhou,Walter Nsengiyumva,Tianfu Zhang 한국광학회 2020 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.4 No.1

The feasibility of the application of terahertz electromagnetic waves in the diagnosis of prostate cancer was examined. Four samples of incomplete cancerous prostatic paraffin-embedded tissues were examined using terahertz spectral imaging (TPI) system and the results obtained by comparing the absorption coefficient and refractive index of prostate tumor, normal prostate tissue and smooth muscle from one of the paraffin tissue masses examined were reported. Three hundred and sixty cases of absorption coefficients from one of the paraffin tissues examined were used as raw data to classify these three tissues using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LS-SVM). An excellent classification with an accuracy of 92.22% in the prediction set was achieved. Using the distribution information of THz reflection signal intensity from sample surface and absorption coefficient of the sample, an attempt was made to use the TPI system to identify the boundaries of the different tissues involved (prostate tumors, normal and smooth muscles). The location of three identified regions in the terahertz images (frequency domain slice absorption coefficient imaging, 1.2 THz) were compared with those obtained from the histopathologic examination. The tissue tumor region had a distinctively visible color and could well be distinguished from other tissue regions in terahertz images. Results indicate that a THz spectroscopy imaging system can be efficiently used in conjunction with the proposed advanced computer-based mathematical analysis method to identify tumor regions in the paraffin tissue mass of prostate cancer.

      • Expression and Significance of Hypoxia Inducible Factor-1α and Lysyl Oxidase in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Ping, Wei,Jiang, Wen-Yang,Chen, Wen-Shu,Sun, Wei,Fu, Xiang-Ning Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.6

Object: To detect expression of hypoxia inducible factor-$1{\alpha}$ (HIF-$1{\alpha}$) and lysyl oxidase (LOX) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and explore their roles in prognosis. Methods: The mRNA levels of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and LOX were investigated by real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction in 40 cases of tumour and paired normal tissues. In addition, protein expression of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and LOX was examined by immunohistochemistry in 82 cases of tumour and 45 paired normal tissues. The relationship between HIF-$1{\alpha}$ or LOX and clinicopathologic characteristics, as well as the correlation between HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and LOX, were also examined. Kaplan-Meier survival curves and the log-rank test were used to analyze progression-free survival. Results: HIF-$1{\alpha}$ or LOX mRNA levels in tumor tissues was significantly higher than those in paired normal tissues (p<0.01). Positive HIF-$1{\alpha}$ or LOX protein expression in tumor tissues was noted in 46/82 (56.1%) and 49/82 (59.8%) of the cases, respectively, being significantly higher than those in paired normal tissues (p<0.05). There was significant correlation between the expression of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ or LOX and tumor size, lymph node metastasis and pathological stage (p<0.05). The expression of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and LOX had a significant inverse impact on survival of patients with NSCLC. Conclusion: HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and LOX may play a pivotal role in the development of NSCLC, and may act in synergy to promote the progression of NSCLC.

Plasma Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor and CCL3 as Potential Biomarkers for Distinguishing Patients with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma from High-Risk Individuals Who Have Positive Epstein-Barr Virus Capsid Antigen-Specific IgA

        Ning Xue,Jian-Hua Lin,Shan Xing,Dan Liu,Shi-Bing Li,Yan-Zhen Lai,Xue-Ping Wang,Min-Jie Mao,Qian Zhong,Mu-Sheng Zeng,Wan-Li Liu 대한암학회 2019 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.51 No.1

Purpose The purpose of this study was to identify novel plasma biomarkers for distinguishing nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients from healthy individuals who have positive Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) viral capsid antigen (VCA-IgA). Materials and Methods One hundred seventy-four plasma cytokines were analyzed by a Cytokine Array in eight healthy individuals with positive EBV VCA-IgA and eight patients with NPC. Real-time polymerase chain reaction, Western blotting, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and immunohistochemistry were employed to detect the expression levels of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) and CC chemokine ligand 3 (CCL3) in NPC cell lines and tumor tissues. Plasma MIF and CCL3 were measured by ELISA in 138 NPC patients, 127 EBV VCA-IgA negative (VN) and 100 EBV VCA-IgA positive healthy donors (VP). Plasma EBV VCA-IgA was determined by immunoenzymatic techniques. Results Thirty-four of the 174 cytokines varied significantly between the VP and NPC group. Plasma MIF and CCL3 were significantly elevated in NPC patients compared with VN and VP. Combination of MIF and CCL3 could be used for the differential diagnosis of NPC from VN cohort (area under the curve [AUC], 0.913; sensitivity, 90.00%; specificity, 80.30%), and combination of MIF, CCL3, and VCA-IgA could be used for the differential diagnosis of NPC from VP cohort (AUC, 0.920; sensitivity, 90.00%; specificity, 84.00%), from (VN+VP) cohort (AUC, 0.961; sensitivity, 90.00%; specificity, 92.00%). Overexpressions of MIF and CCL3 were observed in NPC plasma, NPC cell lines and NPC tissues. Conclusion Plasma MIF, CCL3, and VCA-IgA combination significantly improves the diagnostic specificity of NPC in high-risk individuals.

Mechanochemistry synthesis of high purity lithium carbonate

        Ning Chen,E Zhou,Dong-ping Duan,Xue-min Yang 한국화학공학회 2017 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.34 No.10

A technique for preparing high purity Li2CO3 powders has been developed through mechanochemical process coupled with the dissolution-filtration process. The first step as mechanochemical reaction of both Na2CO3 and LiCl mixtures was designed to obtain the primary Li2CO3 powders using a ball mill. The second step as the dissolution- filtration process was performed to obtain high purity Li2CO3 powders. Experimental results indicate that the three parameters of milling time, rotation speed, and ball-to-sample mass ratio can closely relate with purity of primary Li2CO3 powders. The XRD patterns of primary Li2CO3 powders indicate that mechanochemical reaction of both Na2CO3 and LiCl can be completed in 15 min under optimal conditions at rotation speed as 600 rpm, ball-to-sample mass ratio as 5/1, and molar ratio of Na2CO3 to LiCl as 1/2. The target products of Li2CO3 powders contain impurity of Na+ less than 0.1mass% with the minimum values as 0.073mass%. Two shapes of massive particles and smaller grains less than 1 μm in nano scale can be observed in the target products of Li2CO3 powders.

Comparative Evaluation of Hepatoprotective Activities of Geniposide, Crocins and Crocetin by CCl4-Induced liver Injury in Mice

        ( Ping Chen ),( Yang Chen ),( Ya Rong Wang ),( Shi Ning Cai ),( Liang Deng ),( Jia Liu ),( Hao Zhang ) 한국응용약물학회 2016 Biomolecules & Therapeutics(구 응용약물학회지) Vol.24 No.2

Iridoid glycosides (mainly geniposide) and crocetin derivatives (crocins) are the two major active constituents in Gardenia jasminoides Ellis. In the present study, geniposide, crocins, crocin-1 and crocetin were separated from gardenia chromatographically. Then, mice were orally administrated with geniposide (400 mg/kg b.w.), crocins (400 mg/kg b.w.), crocin-1 (400 mg/kg b.w.) and crocetin (140 mg/kg b.w.) once daily for 7 days with CCl4. Hepatoprotective properties were evaluated by biochemical parameters: Administration of geniposide, crocins, crocin-1and crocetin significantly lowered serum alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels in CCl4-treated mice. The reduced glutathione (GSH) levels and antioxidant enzymes (SOD and CAT) activities were also increased by geniposide, crocins, crocin-1 and crocetin. Histopathological examination of livers showed that these components reduced deformability, irregular arrangement and rupture of hepatocyte in CCl4-treated mice. These biochemical results and liver histopathological assessment demonstrated that geniposide, crocetin derivatives and crocetin show comparative beneficial effects on CCl4-induced liver damage via induction of antioxidant defense. Therefore, contents of geniposide and crocetin derivatives should be both considered for hepatoprotective efficacy of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis.

The complete mitochondrial genome of fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae)

        Bo-Ping Tang,Qiu-Ning Liu,Xin-Yue Chai,Dan-Dan Bian,Bao-Ming Ge,Chun-Lin Zhou 한국유전학회 2016 Genes & Genomics Vol.38 No.2

The mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) can provide important information for understanding molecular evolution and phylogenetic analyses. The complete mitogenome of Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae) was determined to be 15,365 bp in length and has the typical gene order found in Noctuidae mitogenomes, it includes 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and a A?T-rich region. The nucleotide composition was biased toward A?T nucleotides (81.09 %) and the AT skew of this mitogenome was slightly positive (0.004). All PCGs were initiated by ATN codons, except for cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (cox1) gene which was initiated by CGA. Eight of the 13 PCGs have the incomplete termination codon, T or TA. All the tRNA genes displayed the typical clover-leaf structure of mitochondrial tRNAs, with the exception of trnS1 (AGN). The A?T-rich region was 328 bp in length and consisted of several features common to the Noctuidae insects. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the S. frugiperda was within the Noctuidae.

Molecular cloning and expression analysis of a myosin light chain 1 (MLC‐1) gene from Indian meal moth Plodia interpunctella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

        Qiu‐Ning Liu,Dan-Dan Bian,Chun-Lin Zhou,Bo-Ping Tang 한국곤충학회 2015 Entomological Research Vol.45 No.6

Myosin light chain 1 (MLC‐1) protein acts in the organization, dynamics and transport processes associated with the cytoskeleton. In this work, an MLC‐1 gene was cloned and characterized from the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae). The isolated PiMLC‐1 cDNA is 913 bp, including a 5′‐untranslated region (UTR) of 79 bp, 3′‐UTR of 381 bp and an open reading frame (ORF) of 453 bp encoding a polypeptide of 150 amino acids, which contains two calcium binding domains (EF‐hands). The deduced PiMLC‐1 protein sequence has 39–94% comparison with other individuals. The qPCR analysis revealed that PiMLC‐1 was expressed in the four developmental stages (egg, larva, pupa and adult) and in all tissues tested, suggesting that it plays an important role in development of P. interpunctella. Based on the MLC‐1 amino acids, phylogenetic analysis showed a similar topology with the traditional classification, suggesting the potential value of the MLC‐1 protein in phylogenetic inference.
