        중생 고품질 내병 다수성 벼 ‘영보(嶺寶)’

        ‘Yeongbo’ is a variety of japonica rice (Oryza sativa L.) with good eating quality, resistance to rice stripe virus, rice dwarf virus, and bacterial blight disease. It was developed by the rice breeding team of the Yeongdeok Branch, National Institute Crop Science, Rural Development Administration in 2014. This variety was derived from a cross between ‘Yeongdeog35’ with good eating quality and ‘Saekyehwa’ with good plant type in the 2002 summer season. A promising line selected through the pedigree breeding method, YR24269-1-2-1-2-3-3, was designated as ‘Yeongdeog57’ in 2011. After a local adaptability test at nine locations from 2012 to 2014, ‘Yeongdeog57’ was released under the name of ‘Yeongbo’ in 2014. ‘Yeongbo’ had a short culm length of 66 cm and medium growth duration. This variety was resistant to K1, K2, and K3 races of bacterial blight, rice stripe virus, and dwarf virus, and moderately resistant to leaf blast disease. ‘Yeongbo’ had translucent and clear milled rice kernel without white core and belly, and good eating quality according to a panel test. The yield potential of ‘Yeongbo’ in milled rice was approximately 5.75 MT/ha at an ordinary fertilizer level in the local adaptability test. This cultivar would be adaptable to middle plain area, south plain area, Yeongnam plain area, east costal area, and south mid-mountainous area. (Registration No.6804)

      • Zinc Titanate에서 H₂S 흡수특성 조사

        요약문사출성형법으로 평가를 위해 ZnO 함량을 변화시키면서 4종류의 Zinc Titanate 흡수제를 제조하였다. Zn/Ti 몰비가 증가할수록 지배적인 결정상은 Zn 2Ti3O8과 Zn2TiO4로 관찰되었다. Zinc Titanate 탈황제에 의한 H2S 흡수반응을 모사석탄가스의 고온탈황에 의해서 실험적으로 연구하였다. 내경 3cm인 석영관의 고정상 반응기로 4종류의 Zin cTitanate 흡수제에 대하여 H2S 흡수와 재생의 10-cycle 실험을 수행하였다. 파과곡선, SEM, BET 등의 실험적인 관찰을 근거로 하여 650℃가 최적 흡수반응온도임을 결정하였다. 탈황과 재생의 반복적인 실험동안 H2S와 S02의 파과곡선들을 구하였다. 또한, 시험 전후의 흡수제의 물성변화를 SEM, EDX, Hg-porosimetry 및 BET 방법으로 분석하였다. 비록 더많은 연구가 필요하지만, 제한된 실험적 조건에서 판단하면 YZT-3(Zn/Ti=1.5)가 가장 우수한 탈황제라고 결론내릴 수 있다.AbstractFour zinc titanate sorbents were prepared for evaluation by extrusion method with varying ZnO contents. The predominant crystalline phases were Zn2Ti3O3 and Zn2TiO4 as Zn/Ti molar ratio was increased. Absorption of HzS by the zinc titanate sorbents was studied experimentally in high temperature desulfurization of simulated coal gas. Fixed-bed system of 3 cm i. d. quartz tube was used to carry out 10-cycle experiments of H2S absorption and regeneration for the zinc titanate sorbents. In these experiments the optimal absorption temperature was determined as 650 ℃ based on experimental observation of breakthrough curves, SEM and BET results, and so on. H2S and SO; breakthrough curves were obtained for each sorbent during repetitive cycles of desulfurization and regeneration. Also, property changes of the sorbent before and after testing were analyzed using SEM, EDX, XRD, Hg-porosimeter and BET method. It is concluded under this limited experimental conditions YZT-3 (Zn/Ti =1.5) was the most suitable desulfurization sorbent even though further tests are required.

        Change of the society owing to the national economic progress requires the reform of the education to produce qualified technical high school teachers in the university. In response to this need, the study on the curriculum for the mechanical engineering education in the university is inevitable. Currently, the curriculum requires 160 credits for graduation which are composed of 32 credits for the general subjects, 26 credits for the engineering basic subjects, 22 credits for the pedagogic subjects, and 80 credits or the major subjects. The study is limited only to the organization of the major subjects. As a result of this study, the new curricuiculum is presented and following conclusions are obtained; 1) Basic subjects is the major consolidated. 2) Separated courses for elective subjects are unified into one. 3) 80 credits for she major convist of 40 credits of required subjects and 40 credits of electives. 4) Theory and practice in the major subjects have proportions of 60 and 40 in classhour respectively. 5) To supplement the practice, field practice is systemtized and intensified its duration up to 2 months, but no credits are necessarily assigned to it.

        Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Zr 합금의 집합조직 발달과 기계적 특성에 미치는 Sc 첨가의 영향

        The texture and mechanical properties during fabrication processes - extrusion, cold rolling and aging treatment - of plate in the 7050 Al alloys without/with 0.1%Sc were investigated. In both the cross section(CS) and longitudinal section(LS) of the specimen without Sc, after cold rolling, texture of R-fiber was predominant. In the Sc added alloy after cold rolling, {112}<111>(Cu)+weak (123)<634>(S) texture components developed in the CS of the specimen while strong (3-fiber+(110)<001>(Goss) components developed in the LS of the specimen. After solution treatment and aging treatment, the alloy (CS and LS) without Sc had random texture, but by the alloys with the 0.1%Sc, the components of the rolling texture are not changed. After the aging treatment, hardness and tensile strength of the alloy with 0.1%Sc increased about 15% and 17%, respectively, than those without Sc. Tensile strength of the Sc added specimen was the highest along the rolling direction where the <111> texture was strongly developed. On the other hand, in the specimen without Sc, the mechanical properties were not dependent on the direction of the sample. (Received May 3, 2004)

        MAS를 이용한 줄무늬잎마름병 저항성 조생종 벼 ‘해담쌀’ 개발

        ‘Haedamssal’ is an early maturing and rice stripe virus disease-resistant cultivar adaptable for early-transplanting cultivation that was developed by the rice breeding team of the Department of Southern Crop, NICS, RDA, in 2014. This cultivar was derived from the cross YR25869 (YR21247-B-B-B-49-1/Sasanishiki BL4//Koshihikari) and YR25868 (Unkwang//YR21247-B-B-B-49-1/Sasanishiki BL4) made in the 2005/2006 winter season and was advanced to the F5 generation by a bulk breeding method using rapid generation advance. To incorporate rice stripe virus resistance, marker-assisted selection on the RSV gene was conducted in 3-way and 6-way cross F1 generation using the tightly linked marker RM6897. From testing in the replicated yield trial in 2011, a promising line YR26258-B-B-B-33-3 was selected and it was designated as ‘Milyang276’. A local adaptability test of ‘Milyang276’ was performed at three locations from 2012 to 2014 and it was named as ‘Haedamssal’, which was a good eating quality variety. The culm length was 67 cm in yield trials, which was 4 cm shorter than ‘Jopyeong’. The number of spikelets per panicle was lower than ‘Jopyeong’, whereas the number of tillers per hill was higher. This variety was resistant to RSV disease, bacterial blight, and leaf blast disease. The milled rice yield of ‘Haedamssal’ was 5.48 MT per ha at the early transplanting in the local adaptability test. ‘Haedamssal’ is well adapted to early transplanting cultivation in the southern plain area (Registration No. 6811).

        An Experimental Study on Effects of Pair Programming on Task Performance

        In recent years, pair programming has become a widely used approach for development of information systems. According to a worldwide survey, 35 percent of 104 development projects reported using pair programming. However, previous studies have shown rather mixed results in terms of the effectiveness of pair programming, comparing to individual or independent programming. This paper, therefore, uses a lab setting to control some of the variables that appear to have caused conflicting results in earlier studies. Writing SQL queries for given problem statements is selected as the task the subjects to solve. One key issue addressed is the distribution of work load among the pair programmers and the independent programmers. Another is communication among co-workers as would occur in a real-world system development environment. The results of this study indicate there is no significant difference in task performance pair programming and independent programming.

        HIT PV Module Performance Research for an Improvement of Long-term Reliability: A Review

        We report finding ways to improve the long-term reliability of PV module including the heterostructure with the intrinsic thin layer (HIT) solar cell. We point out the stability of the products of Panasonic HIT cell. We account for a brief description of the module manufacturing process to investigate the issues of each process and analyze the causes. We carried out the silicon PV module of the glass to glass type under the damp heat test around 1000 hours. However, it degraded around 7% of PV module power after 300 hours exposure in comparison with the initial status (Initial: 12.7 Watt). We investigated possible cause and solutions for the module performance to develop the long-term reliability.

        <P>There is a recent interest in semiconducting superlattice films because their low dimensionality can increase the thermal power and phonon scattering at the interface in superlattice films. However, experimental studies in all cross-plane thermoelectric (TE) properties, including thermal conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, and electrical conductivity, have not been performed from these semiconducting superlattice films because of substantial difficulties in the direct measurement of the Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity. Unlike the conventional measurement method, we present a technique using a structure of sandwiched superlattice films between two embedded heaters as the heating source, and electrodes with two Cu plates, which directly enables the investigation of the Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity across the Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>/ZnO superlattice films, prepared by the atomic layer deposition method. Used in combination with the promising cross-plane four-point probe 3-ω method, our measurements and analysis demonstrate all cross-plane TE properties of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>/ZnO superlattice films in the temperature range of 80 to 500 K. Our experimental methodology and the obtained results represent a significant advancement in the understanding of phonons and electrical transports in nanostructured materials, especially in semiconducting superlattice films in various temperature ranges.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

        The Effect of Extract from Sea Buckthorn on DNCB-induced Atopic Dermatitis in NC/Nga Mice

        Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) has been used in traditional medicine for the treatment of cough, indigestion, circulatory problems and pain. The associated anti-inflammatory effect of this agent is achieved via the inhibition of Nf-${\kappa}B$ signaling, a property that has been demonstrated to effectively control the symptoms of various skin disorders, including atopic dermatitis. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of Sea Buckthorn in reducing the production of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) activated nitric oxide (NO) by inhibiting the Nf-${\kappa}B$ pathway, as measured by the symptoms of atopic dermatitis (AD) occurring secondarily to inflammation and immune dysregulation. Our data demonstrate that Sea Buckthorn significantly decreased the LPS-induced production of NO (p<0.001). Atopic dermatitis was induced by repeated application of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene to the dorsal skin of mice. Topical application of 5% Sea Buckthorn extract improved the symptoms of AD, specifically reducing disease severity scores, scratching behaviors and epidermal thickness. When compared to the control group, animals treated with Sea Buckthorn exhibited increased serum IL-12 levels and decreased serum TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-4 and IL-5 levels. Such a modulation of biphasic T-helper (Th)1/Th2 cytokines may result in a reduction in serum IgE levels. Our findings suggest that mechanism of action of Sea Buckthorn in the treatment of AD is associated with a marked anti-inflammatory effect as well as an inhibition of Th2-mediated IgE overproduction via the modulation of biphasic Th1/Th2 cytokines. Such results suggest that topical Sea Buckthorn extract may prove to be a novel therapy for AD symptoms with few side effects.
