      • Classification of Penaeid Prawn Species using Radial basis Probabilistic Neural Networks and Support Vector Machines

        V.Sucharita,P.Venkateswara Rao,Debnath Bhattacharyya,Tai-hoon Kim 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Bio-Science and Bio-Techn Vol.8 No.1

This research is to present a new approach for the classification of the Penaeid Prawn Species. The extraction of Texture features based on the Gabor filter is proposed in this method. These extracted features are used for the classification of Penaeid Prawn Species based on Radial Basis Probabilistic Neural Networks and Support Vector Machines. The texture of the prawn image are extracted based on different scales and orientations by which mean and standard deviation are calculated. The resultant Gabor feature values are fed as input to Radial basis Probabilistic Neural Network Classifier for the classification of the species. The experimental results show the performance of the extracted feature vectors for Penaeid Prawn species recognition. The RBPNN gives better recognition when compared with Support vector machines.

Cloning of fatty acid desaturase-coding sequence (Lufad3) from flax and its functional validation in rice

        Rajasekhar Urla,P. Pavan Kumar,Prabhakar Sripadi,Venkateswara Rao Khareedu,Dashavantha Reddy Vudem 한국식물생명공학회 2017 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.11 No.5

Flax contains very high levels of alpha-linolenic acid (57%) and a fatty acid desaturase 3-coding sequence (Lufad3) of flax has been amplified from the RNA isolated from developing seeds. The deduced amino acid sequence of LuFAD3 showed the presence of three histidine motifs, six membrane spanning domains and an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) retention signal KSK, indicating its plausible localization into the ER. Flax is not amenable for genetic transformation and not suitable for functional validation of Lufad3 gene. Hence, rice with well-developed genetic transformation has been selected as heterologous host system. Coding sequence of Lufad3 driven by maize Ubi1 promoter has been introduced into indica rice by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated genetic transformation. Southern analysis of putative transformants (T0) revealed signals at variable lengths at [5 kbp indicating random integration of transgene into the genomes of different transformants. The Mendelian segregation observed for selectable marker gene hyg in both T1 and T2 generations confirmed stable inheritance and single-site integration of transgenes. As compared to untransformed control (UC), homozygous transgenic rice expressing Lufad3 showed higher levels of essential a-linolenic acid in leaves and seeds validating its functionality.

Thermal post-buckling analysis of uniform slender functionally graded material beams

        K. Sanjay Anandrao,R.K. Gupta,P. Ramchandran,G. Venkateswara Rao 국제구조공학회 2010 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.36 No.5

Two or more distinct materials are combined into a single functionally graded material (FGM) where the microstructural composition and properties change gradually. Thermal post-buckling behavior of uniform slender FGM beams is investigated independently using the classical Rayleigh-Ritz (RR) formulation and the versatile Finite Element Analysis (FEA) formulation developed in this paper. The von-Karman strain-displacement relations are used to account for moderately large deflections of FGM beams. Bending-extension coupling arising due to heterogeneity of material through the thickness is included. Simply supported and clamped beams with axially immovable ends are considered in the present study. Post-buckling load versus deflection curves and buckled mode shapes obtained from both the RR and FEA formulations for different volume fraction exponents show an excellent agreement with the available literature results for simply supported ends. Response of the FGM beam with clamped ends is studied for the first time and the results from both the RR and FEA formulations show a very good agreement. Though the response of the FGM beam could have been studied more accurately by FEA formulation alone, the authors aim to apply the RR formulation is to find an approximate closed form post-buckling solutions for the FGM beams. Further, the use of the RR formulation clearly demonstrates the effect of bending-extension coupling on the post-buckling response of the FGM beams.

      • Applying Z-Curve Technique to Compute Skyline Set in Multi Criteria Decision Making System

        T. Vijaya Saradhi,Kodukula Subrahmanyam,P. Venkateswara Rao,Hye-jin Kim 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Database Theory and Appli Vol.9 No.12

The skyline queries are the best tools to be used in distributed multi criteria decision making of web based applications for user commendations. However, as the Data dimensions are increasing size of dominance set and skyline set is also increasing. Increasing dimensionality becomes the major problem with real word databases. In skyline computation major cost depends on finding dominance tests between high dimensional objects and the order in which they are accessing. Space filling Z-curve is the best suitable way to address the challenges in skyline computation. In this proposed work, we incorporated Z-curve with optimized skyline boundary detection algorithm to effective access and early pruning. In this paper efficient hybrid index structure was proposed which takes the advantage of sorting and partition approaches to improve the storage and search efficiency. Experimental results show that our propose approach is better than the previous static skyline computation techniques in terms of searching and finding skyline set.

Non-linear free vibrations and post-buckling analysis of shear flexible functionally graded beams

        K. Sanjay Anandrao,R.K. Gupta,P. Ramchandran,G. Venkateswara Rao 국제구조공학회 2012 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.44 No.3

Large amplitude free vibration and thermal post-buckling of shear flexible Functionally Graded Material (FGM) beams is studied using finite element formulation based on first order Timoshenko beam theory. Classical boundary conditions are considered. The ends are assumed to be axially immovable. The von-Karman type strain-displacement relations are used to account for geometric non-linearity. For all the boundary conditions considered, hardening type of non-linearity is observed. For large amplitude vibration of FGM beams, a comprehensive study has been carried out with various lengths to height ratios, maximum lateral amplitude to radius of gyration ratios, volume fraction exponents and boundary conditions. It is observed that, for FGM beams, the non-linear frequencies are dependent on the sign of the vibration amplitudes. For thermal post-buckling of FGM beams, the effect of shear flexibility on the structural response is discussed in detail for different volume fraction exponents, length to height ratios and boundary conditions. The effect of shear flexibility is observed to be predominant for clamped beam as compared to simply supported beam.
