• Utilization of PhotoinducedCharge-Separated Stateof Donor–Acceptor-Linked Molecules for Regulation of Cell MembranePotential and Ion Transport

        Numata, Tomohiro,Murakami, Tatsuya,Kawashima, Fumiaki,Morone, Nobuhiro,Heuser, John E.,Takano, Yuta,Ohkubo, Kei,Fukuzumi, Shunichi,Mori, Yasuo,Imahori, Hiroshi American Chemical Society 2012 JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY - Vol.134 No.14

The control of ion transport across cell membranes by light is an attractive strategy that allows targeted, fast control of precisely defined events in the biological membrane, Here we report a novel general strategy for the control of membrane potential and ion transport by using charge-separation molecules and light. Delivery of charge-separation molecules to the plasma membrane of PC12 cells by a membranous nanocarrier and subsequent light irradiation led to depolarization of the membrane potential as well as inhibition of the potassium ion flow across the membrane. Photoregulation of the cell membrane potential and ion transport by using charge-separation molecules is highly promising for control of cell functions.

        日本語作文の授業に物語の創作をとり入れる試み

        沼田浩通(Numata Hiromichi) 대한일어일문학회 2018 일어일문학 Vol.79 No.-

This manuscript is a practical report about the introduction of a narrative writing lesson, which has been attracting attention in the Japanese writing class, which is mostly used to write practical writing such as exposition or rhetoric, letters or notices, etc. In this paper, we first confirm the results of the creation of stories that have been revealed through research and practice in Japanese language education and then propose a design of classes using four-frame cartoons as an attempt to incorporate them into Japanese language learning. Furthermore, through the study of the works written by the learners and the review sheet after class, we examined what kind of learning effects were obtained by the creation of the story. The target group was the third grade at Jeju Foreign Language High School where I teach. As a result, it was confirmed that the creation of the story gives learners the opportunity to enjoy writing and expressing it in Japanese, and that it may be effective for learning rhetoric, such as metaphor, onomatopoeia, and mimetic words.

        付帯状況のナガラ節と逆接のナガラ節が表すアスペクト的意味

沼田浩通 ( Numata Hiromichi ) 한국일어교육학회 2022 일본어교육연구 Vol.- No.59

This paper seeks to study syntactic conditions making a distinction between nagara clauses for simultaneous and adversative usage based upon their aspectual meanings. For this purpose, this study was performed by taking examples contradictory to the indications of previous studies about the relationship between the aspect and meaning of nagara clauses, including ones in which a nagara clause represents a continuative aspect but has an adversative meaning, among those collected in the corpus. Furthermore, based upon the results, nagara clauses, which represent the adversative usage due to the difference of aspectual meaning, were classified into three categories. Adversative usage A indicates that the taxes of main and nagara clauses represent “simultaneity” and the aspect of a nagara clause is “continuative” and that the event of a nagara clause and the one not matching or contradictory to that of the main clause are valid at the same time. Adversative usage B indicates that the taxes of main and nagara clauses represent “sequence” and their aspectual meanings are “actional perfect” and that the event of the main clause following the previous one with its action completed is the one not proposed or not valid. Adversative usage C indicates that a nagara clause is connected with nouns, adjectives, and stative verbs representing “static situation” with no time development and that the property of a nagara clause and the one not matching or contradictory to the main clause are valid at the same time.

        「姿勢変化動詞+ナガラ」が表わす意味

        沼田浩通 ( Numata¸ Hiromichi ) 한국일어교육학회 2021 일본어교육연구 Vol.- No.56

Previous studies have suggested that the 'postural change verb + nagara' representing collateral circumstances indicates the “resultative” aspect. However, some case studies have shown that there are a few examples where the postural change verb + nagara construction indicates the “progressive” aspect. Noting the examples where some nagara clauses indicate different aspects even if they have the same construction of postural change verb + nagara, this paper is to classify these examples of postural change verb + nagara construction according to the differences in aspects and study the relationship between the aspect and meaning of nagara clause. According to the study findings, the aspects of nagara clauses in examples containing postural change verb + nagara constructions could be classified into three: progressive, resultative and iterative. Among them, while the nagara clause whose aspect was progressive indicated the postural change of an agent running parallel with the event of the principal clause, the nagara clause whose aspect was resultative indicated a posture taken by the agent while the event of the principal clause was realized. Likewise, in case of iterative aspect, the nagara clause comprehensively indicated the postural change of an agent repeatedly performed along with the event of the principal clause. More importantly, it was confirmed that if the time interval for the event of a principal clause is shorter than that for the event of the nagara clause, the postural change verb + nagara can indicate the “progressive” aspect unlike the previous explanations. It means that the conjunction forms of nagara can be focused on the ‘action’ stage of an event indicated by a postural change verb which cannot be understood in the dichotomous classification of verbs where they are verbs of action and verbs of change.

        시민참여형 이벤트에서 사회적 자본의 고찰

        누마타 시니치(Numata Shinichi),박성현(Park Sung Hyun),김일태(Kim Il Tai) 한국도시행정학회 2011 도시 행정 학보 Vol.24 No.2

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate whether participatory events are an effective means, improving Social Capital, with Yokohama Triennale in 2008. We also illustrate the possibility of improving social capital and how social capital can change the society with limited time for preparation and execution of events. The results of study are as follows; first of all, it is able to identify that various resources are embedded and trust and norm are improved in the network where volunteers involve participatory events. We are also able to find the social capital made up with resource, trust and norm. Secondly, it confirms that two social capitals, combination and mediation, improved by participatory events are existed. Thirdly, it identifies that social capital improved by participatory events can have horizontal and vertical features. Consequently, it demonstrates that successful process of participatory event is in line with the process of improving social capital.

Evaluation of Urinary Nitrogen Excretion from Plasma Urea Nitrogen in Dry and Lactating Cows

        Kume, S.,Numata, K.,Takeya, Y,Miyagawa, Y,Ikeda, S.,Kitagawa, M.,Nonaka, K.,Oshita, T.,Kozakai, T. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2008 Animal Bioscience Vol.21 No.8

Data of 42 balance measurements from dry and lactating Holstein cows and blood and urine samples from 24 Japanese Black cows were collected to evaluate the potential for predicting urinary nitrogen (N) excretion from plasma urea nitrogen (PUN). Similar positive correlations were obtained between N intake and apparent N absorption in dry and lactating cows. The regression equations of N intake on urinary N excretion varied in dry and lactating cows, and the difference of urinary N excretion between dry and lactating cows was due to the N secretion into milk. Highly positive correlations were observed between urinary N contents and urinary urea N in Japanese Black cows, and urinary urea N increased with increasing PUN. There were positive correlations between N intake and PUN in dry and lactating cows, but PUN and urinary N excretion in lactating cows were higher than in dry cows. There were positive correlations between PUN and urinary N excretion per BW in dry and lactating cows. Although urinary N excretion could be calculated as (N clearance rate of kidneys)PUNBW, high N clearance rate of kidneys, such as 2.08 L/d/kg BW, may be suitable to calculate urinary N excretion in lactating cows, compared with 1.33 L/d/kg BW in dry cows.
