The Antecedent of Employee Engagement and Its Effect on Innovative Behavior: A Religiosity-Based Social Exchange Theory (SET) Perspective

Noor ARIFIN,Heru Kurnianto TJAHJONO,Arif HARTONO,Muafi MUAFI 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.7

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, spiritual leadership, and work-life balance and its impact on innovative behavior through the mediating effect of employee engagement on the state-owned sharia bank of Central Java Province. The total sample of this study is 226 respondents taken from state-owned sharia bank in 6 Regencies/Cities in the former Karisedenan of Central Java. Samples are taken using a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique is using the division of regions based on clusters (cities) and is carried out using a purposive sampling method. The results indicate that the indirect influence of all independent variables on innovative behavior through the mediating effect of employee engagement is found to be significant. This study views employee engagement from the perspective of religiosity-based social exchange theory so that religious values in the interaction relationship can be fairly applied and respected by the employees of the state-owned sharia bank. Managers can socialize the importance of spirit behavior to employees so that it can be their everyday attitude and becomes their guide for work. Leaders can become role models in straightening intentions while working as well as conditioning the conscience to always think positively at work by strengthening work engagement in sharia banking institutions.

Optimization and Comparison of Typical Elastic Actuators in Powered Ankle-foot Prosthesis

Jingjing Liu,Noor Azuan Abu Osman,Mouaz Al Kouzbary,Hamza Al Kouzbary,Nasrul Anuar Abd Razak,Hanie Nadia Shasmin,Nooranida Arifin 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.1

Elastic actuators are broadly applied in the design of the powered ankle-foot prosthesis, so it is a significant task to select and optimize a suitable elastic actuator. Dynamic models of seven kinds of elastic actuators are constructed from a two-degrees-of-freedom vibration system in rotation. With input parameters from sound ankle data during walking, motor data, and the three-dimensional model of the proposed prosthesis, two objectives, which are to minimize the peak mechanical power and mean energy consumption power of the motor, respectively, are optimized by changing the parameters of elastic elements. Unidirectional parallel elastic actuator (UPEA) and UPEA with series spring (SE+UPEA) optimize nearly 75% compared to the direct-driver actuator (DDA) in minimizing the characteristic of peak mechanical power. When it comes to reducing mean energy consumption power, UPEA is also the best, and its performance is at least 15% better than those of the other four kinds of elastic actuators with effective optimization. Besides, features of torque and velocity on the driver end are also compared from elastic actuators to sound ankle. The comparison contributes to understanding the optimization mechanism of different elastic elements, and the optimized and compared performances of elastic actuators can be utilized as the selection basis in the design of the powered ankle-foot prosthesis.

Hypogene kaolin deposits from felsic intrusive rocks (Peninsular Malaysia) with special reference to rare earth elements and stable isotopes geochemistry

        Hassan Baioumy,Mohsen Farahat,Mohd Hariri Arifin,Mohammad Noor Akmal Bin Anuar,Khaled Al-Kahtany 한국지질과학협의회 2021 Geosciences Journal Vol.25 No.6

Clay fractions of the hypogene kaolin deposits from Ipoh granite and Jerai pegmatite are composed of kaolinite, while the greenish kaolin horizon of Ipoh area comprises of illite and kaolinite. Al2O3 and SiO2 are the main constituents in the studied kaolins with very low concentrations of other oxides. K2O occurs in relatively high contents in the illite-rich kaolin that formed by hydrothermal alteration of biotite-granite of the greenish kaolin horizon of Ipoh area. The higher contents of Ba, Cr, Cs, Ga, Rb, Sc, and Sn in the illiterich horizon are inherited from its source rock. The relative enrichment of light rare earth elements (LREE) over heavy rare earth elements (HREE) as indicated from the high (La/Yb)n ratios and positive correlations between ΣREE and P2O5 in the studied kaolins suggest the occurrence of REE as authigenic florencite, churchite and/or rhabdophane and, therefore, reflect the kaolinitization process rather than the parent rocks. δH and δO values are similar in both Ipoh and Jerai kaolins with dH values range from –84 to –99‰ and positive δO values varying between 0.95 and 5.47‰. H- and O-isotopes data fall close to the left side of the kaolinite line in equilibrium with meteoric water at temperatures of > 100 °C. The pronounced negative Eu anomalies, absence of positive Ce anomaly and high crystallization temperature (94–113 °C) indicate the hydrothermal (hypogene) origin of the studied kaolins as a result of the Triassic postmagmatic hydrothermal activities in Peninsular Malaysia. Mineralogical and geochemical variations among the studied deposits although they formed by the same kaolinitization process, suggest a significant role of parent rocks in their compositions.

Understanding Dieting and Previous Weight Loss Attempts among Overweight and Obese Participants: Insights into My Body Is Fit and Fabulous at Work Program

Tengku Alina Tengku Ismail,Rohana Abdul Jalil,Wan Rosli Wan Ishak,Noor Fadzlina Hamid,Wan Suriati Wan Nik,Hamid Jan Jan Mohamed,Nor Haslina Mohd,Wan Nor Arifin,Wan Mohd Izani Wan Mohamed,Mohd Ismail I 대한가정의학회 2018 Korean Journal of Family Medicine Vol.39 No.1

Background: A qualitative study providing an in-depth exploration of people’s view and the increasing burden of overweight and obesity is required. This study aimed to explore the understanding of dieting and previous experi-ences on weight loss attempts among overweight and obese government employees in Kelantan, Malaysia, prior to recruitment into the intervention program. Methods: Thirteen focus group discussions involving 129 participants from a weight-loss intervention program were conducted within the first 1 month of recruitment. These discussions were moderated by two trained re-searchers in the Malay language and assisted by an interview guide. They were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. A thematic analysis was performed, and codes and themes from each discussion were constructed. Results: The participants understood dieting with various meanings, including skipping meals and removing rice from daily diets. They applied numerous methods to lose weight and achieved various outcomes. Health and ap-pearance, social support, and compliance with current trends were the factors motivating these participants to lose weight. Their determination to lose weight was limited by lack of self-control and motivation, experiences of un-pleasant effects, influence on weight, and environmental and health factors. Conclusion: Real-life weight loss experiences and perceptions provided relevant insights into current weight loss management strategies. Some of these issues and misunderstandings should be emphasized in weight loss strate-gies during health promotion.
