Jurisprudential Contemplation of the world trade organisation
( Mrinal Sharma ),( Shivsulabh Nambiar ) 고려대학교 법학연구원 2012 Korea University Law Review Vol.11 No.-
The World Trade Organisation has emerged as the facilitator and the sentinel of free and global trade. The WTO stands on the primary principle of liberalisation. In recent times, the WTO scholars have professed that the organisation is a special and selfcontained regime. In the opinions of these scholars, the WTO is superior to the regime of public international law and is governed only by the WTO law, which is formulated by the organisation in consideration of free cross border trade. It has been advocated that WTO and its members in the support of free trade cannot be constrained by any other law such as the public internal law, and the dispute settlement mechanism of the WTO is exclusive to the norms established by the WTO. Also, a segment of the scholarship has perceived the regime of the WTO to have true potential to formulate a constitutional vision and authority for international trade, as is reflected in its practice.
Design and Implementation of Instantaneous Power Estimation Algorithm for Unified Power Conditioner
S., Sindhu,M.R., Sindhu,Nambiar, T.N.P. The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.3
This paper discusses a simple control approach for a Unified Power Conditioner (UPC) system to achieve power quality compensation at the point of common coupling in distribution systems. The proposed Instantaneous Power Estimation Algorithm (IPEA) for shunt and series active power filters uses a simple mathematical concept that reduces the complexity in the design of the controller. The performance of a UPC is verified with a system subjected to voltage distortions, sags/swells and unbalanced loads using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation study shows that a UPC with the proposed control algorithm can effectively compensate for voltage and current harmonics, unbalance and reactive power. The control algorithm is experimentally implemented using dSPACE DS1104 and its effectiveness has been verified.
Translational genomics in Brassica crops: challenges, progress, and future prospects
Rehna Augustine,Naveen C. Bisht,Gulab C. Arya,Deepti M. Nambiar,Roshan Kumar 한국식물생명공학회 2014 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.8 No.2
The last two decades have been a period ofrapid advancement in our understanding of plant biologyand its related developmental processes. This advancementhas been facilitated by the adoption of plant models formost of the economically important plant families, as wellas the development of enriched genetic, genomic, transcriptomicand metabolomic resources. In recent years, sequencing projects on major crops have further enhancedour understanding of their genomic structure, evolution, gene functions, and, most importantly, this knowledge hasbeen utilized for crop improvement. The Brassicaceaefamily contains several important research and agriculturalspecies, including the model plant Arabidopsis thalianaand economically important Brassica crops that areof great importance to human health and agriculture. Exploiting heterosis for yield enhancement, increasingtolerance against biotic and abiotic factors, and improvingnutritional value remain the priorities in Brassica cropimprovement. This review summarizes the potential ofrecently adopted genetic and genomic resources, as well asthe basic knowledge obtained from studying the closestmodel plant A. thaliana, to accelerate the crop improvementprograms in Brassica crops.

An ANN Controlled Three-Phase Auto-Tuned Passive Filter for Harmonic and Reactive Power Compensation
Sindhu M.R,Manjula Nair,T.N.P. Nambiar 전력전자학회 2009 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.9 No.3
Automatically tuned passive filters can improve power quality to a great extent in power systems. A novel three-phase shunt auto-tuned filter is designed to effectively compensate source current harmonics and to provide reactive power required by the non-linear load, which draws a highly reactive, harmonic-rich current from the supply. An artificial neural network (ANN) based controller selects filter component values in accordance with reactive power requirement and harmonic compensation. Traditional passive filters are permanently connected to the system and draw large amounts of source current even under light load conditions. By using auto-tuned filters, the passive filter components can be controlled according to load variations and, hence, draw only required source currents. The selection is done by the ANN with the help of a properly tuned knowledge base to provide instantaneous compensation using a digital controller.
