Samy M. Mostafa,S. H. Han,Ehab F. Adb-elfattah,Mostafa A. Hassan,허걸,백종일 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2022 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.23 No.2
A crossing octahedron set is composed of three components : interval-valued fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set and negative-valued function. In this paper, we first introduce the concept of crossing octahedron set and investigate its properties. Further, we define a crossing octahedron Q-ideal, Q-subalgebra and BCK-ideal of a Q-algebra, and we deal with their relationships. In addition, the homomorphic images and pre-images of a crossing octahedron Q-ideal are also studied. Related properties of crossing octahedron Q-ideals are explored and discussed. Finally, the Cartesian product of two crossing octahedron Q-ideals is investigated.

Background: For children with cleft palates, surgeries at a young age are necessary to reduce feeding or phonation difficulties and reduce complications, especially respiratory tract infections and frequent sinusitis. We hypothesized that dexmedetomidine might prolong the postoperative analgesic duration when added to bupivacaine during nerve blocks. Methods: Eighty patients of 1-5 years old were arbitrarily assigned to two equal groups (forty patients each) to receive bilateral suprazygomatic maxillary nerve blocks. Group A received bilateral 0.2 mL/kg bupivacaine (0.125%; maximum volume 4 mL/side). Group B received bilateral 0.2 mL/kg bupivacaine (0.125%) + 0.5 µg/kg dexmedetomidine (maximum volume 4 mL/side). Results: The modified children’s hospital of Eastern Ontario pain scale score was significantly lower in group B children after 8 hours of follow-up postoperatively (P < 0.001). Mean values of heart rate and blood pressure were significantly different between the groups, with lower mean values in group B (P < 0.001). Median time to the first analgesic demand in group A children was 10 hours (range 8-12 hr), and no patients needed analgesia in group B. The sedation score assessment was higher in children given dexmedetomidine (P = 0.03) during the first postoperative 30 minutes. Better parent satisfaction scores (5-point Likert scale) were recorded in group B and without serious adverse effects. Conclusions: Addition of dexmedetomidine 0.5 μg/kg to bupivacaine 0.125% has accentuated the analgesic efficacy of bilateral suprazygomatic maxillary nerve block in children undergoing primary cleft palate repair with less postoperative supplemental analgesia or untoward effects.

We investigated the optical and structural properties of ZnOS digital alloy grown on Si by atomic layer deposition. The refractive index and extinction coecient were evaluated using spectroscopic ellipsometry. ZnOS alloy film shows a strong absorption tail extended to the below band gap regime, which is attributed to a high density of band tail states formed within the band gap owing to the amorphous crystallinity. The ZnOS alloy exhibits a large Urbach energy of 210 - 540 meV. After high-temperature annealing, the band tail states are reduced with a decrease in lattice disorder, which is confirmed by enhanced X-ray diffraction peaks.

The present study addresses isolation, optimization, partial purification, and characterization of a haloalkaline serine protease from a newly isolated haloarchaeal strain isolated from Wadi El Natrun in Egypt. We expected that a two-step sequential statistical approach (one variable at a time, followed by response surface methodology) might maximize the production of the haloalkaline serine protease. The enzyme was partially purified using Hiprep 16/60 sephacryl S-100 HR gel filtration column. Molecular identification revealed the newly isolated haloarchaeon to be Natrialba hulunbeirensis strain WNHS14. Among several tested physicochemical determinants, casamino acids, KCl, and NaCl showed the most significant effects on enzyme production as determined from results of the One-Variable-At-A-time (OVAT) study. The Box- Behnken design localized the optimal levels of the three key determinants; casamino acids, KCl, and NaCl to be 0.5% (w/v), 0.02% (w/v), and 15% (w/v), respectively, obtaining 62.9 U/ml as the maximal amount of protease produced after treatment at 40℃, and pH 9 for 9 days with 6-fold enhancement in yield. The enzyme was partially purified after size exclusion chromatography with specific activity, purification fold, and yield of 1282.63 U/mg, 8.9, and 23%, respectively. The enzyme showed its maximal activity at pH, temperature, and NaCl concentration optima of 10, 75℃, and 2 M, respectively. Phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride (PMSF, 5 mM) completely inhibited enzyme activity.

The paper addresses the limitations of the Moth-Flame Optimization (MFO) algorithm, a meta-heuristic used to solve optimization problems. The MFO algorithm, which employs moths' transverse orientation navigation technique, has been used to generate solutions for such problems. However, the performance of MFO is dependent on the flame production and spiral search components, and the search mechanism could still be improved concerning the diversity of flames and the moths' ability to find solutions. The authors propose a revised version called GMSMFO, which uses a Novel Gaussian mutation mechanism and shrink MFO to enhance population diversity and balance exploration and exploitation capabilities. The study evaluates the performance of GMSMFO using the CEC 2017 benchmark and 20 datasets, including a high-dimensional intrusion detection system dataset. The proposed algorithm is compared to other advanced metaheuristics, and its performance is evaluated using statistical tests such as Friedman and Wilcoxon rank-sum. The study shows that GMSMFO is highly competitive and frequently superior to other algorithms. It can identify the ideal feature subset, improving classification accuracy and reducing the number of features used. The main contribution of this research paper includes the improvement of the exploration/exploitation balance and the expansion of the local search. The ranging controller and Gaussian mutation enhance navigation and diversity. The research paper compares GMSMFO with traditional and advanced metaheuristic algorithms on 29 benchmarks and its application to binary feature selection on 20 benchmarks, including intrusion detection systems. The statistical tests (Wilcoxon rank-sum and Friedman) evaluate the performance of GMSMFO compared to other algorithms. The algorithm source code is available at https://github.com/MohammedQaraad/GMSMFO-algorithm.
Enhanced photoelectrocatalytic water oxidation using CoPi modified GaN/MWCNTs composite photoanodes

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>GaN is promising material for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water oxidation owing to its adjustable band gap and suitable band edge locations, which straddle the H+/H2 and O2/H2O redox conditions. However, due to its wide band gap and unavoidable surface defects, the PEC conversion efficiency of GaN is insufficient to be used for practical applications. To improve the PEC efficiency of GaN, we report fabrication of a cobalt phosphate (CoPi)-modified GaN/multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composite photoanode through combination of metal organic chemical vapor deposition, dip and dry methods, and electrodeposition. Here, GaN photoanodes with different MWCNT surface coverages were obtained by cost effective ‘dip and dry’ method. Different deposition cycles were performed to prepare a series of samples, which were evaluated for their photoelectrochemical water oxidation. The highest photocurrent density (<I>J</I> ph) of 2.23 mA/cm2 at (0 V vs. Pt electrode) was achieved in a sample with moderate incorporation of MWCNTs, formed by through three cycles of the dip and dry coating (i.e., GaN/MWCNT 3T). We attribute this result to the MWCNTs facilitating light sensitization. However, excessive MWCNT loading produced a shielding effect, which lowered the photocurrent density, and an undesirable two-plateau photocurrent behavior indicating sluggish reaction kinetics. The maximum photocurrent density <I>J</I> ph of 2.81 mA/cm2, (vs. Pt electrode) with solar to hydrogen conversion efficiency 0.91% was achieved for GaN/MWCNTs 3T/CoPi ternary composite photoanode, which was approximately 2.51 and 1.26 times as high as that of bare GaN and GaN/MWCNTs 3T photoanodes.</P> <P><B>Highlights:</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Combining GaN with MWCNTs improves the light harvesting capability. </LI> <LI> Large amount of MWCNTs negatively affected PEC performance. </LI> <LI> The GaN/MWCNTs/CoPi composite photoanode promises unassisted water splitting. </LI> <LI> The PEC activity was improved, approximately 2.51 times higher compare to bare GaN. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
Crossing intuitionistic KU-ideals on KU-algebras as an extension of bipolar fuzzy sets
Samy M. Mostafa,Ehab f.Adb-elfattah,Mostafa A. Hassan,Young Bae Jun,허걸 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2021 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.22 No.3
The concept crossing intuitionistic structures set is combination of intuitionistic fuzzy set and $N$- function. In this paper, the concept crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals are introduced and several properties are investigated. Also, the relations between crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals and crossing intuitionistic ideals are given. The image and the pre-image of crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals under homomorphism of $KU$-algebras are defined and how the image and the pre-image of crossing intuitionistic KU-ideals under homomorphism of KU-algebras become crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals are studied. Moreover, the Cartesian product of crossing intuitionistic $KU$-ideals in Cartesian product $KU$-algebras is established.

It is thought that population characteristics of breast cancer may be due to a variation in the frequency of different alleles of genes such as CYP1B1. We aimed to determine the association of CYP1B1 polymorphisms in 200 breast cancer cases and 40 controls by PCR-RFLP. Frequencies were assessed with clinical and risk factors in Egyptian patients. The genotype LV and the Leu allele frequencies for patients and controls were 42.9% and 50%, and 52.9% and 53.3%, respectively), with no significant differences observed (P values = 0.8 and 0.6, respectively). There was also no significant association between genotypes and any risk factors for cases (P>0.05) except laterality and metastasis of the tumor (P values=0.006 and 0.06, respectively). The CYP1B1 polymorphism Val432Leu was not associated with breast cancer in Egypt, but may provide clues for future studies into early detection of the disease.
