Mitsuhisa Kawabe,Joo Kooi Tan,Hyoungseop Kim,Seiji Ishikawa,Takashi Morie 제어로봇시스템학회 2011 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2011 No.10
A traffic accident occurs mainly because of carelessness of a driver. To prevent such an accident, many systems which detect pedestrians from vehicle are proposed. But most of these systems give a warning to a driver every time when a pedestrian is detected. The effect of warning becomes lower if the frequency of warning increases in a busy area. The objective of this study is to develop a technique for detecting pedestrians from a vehicle and to arrange them according to their potential risks by analyzing their behaviors. In this paper, we propose a technique for segmenting pedestrians employing stereo camera images to analyze a pedestrian’s behavior. First, foreground regions are extracted employing background estimation using the mixture of Gaussian model. After extracting foreground regions in an input image, these regions are segmented by using the distance information. By using this method, each shape of the detected pedestrians can be obtained even when pedestrians are overlapping with each other. The proposed technique was examined experimentally employing real video images and satisfactory results were obtained.

The purpose of this study was to make clear what affects the running speed of a player in a game. This research made the game of soccer of two games a research object. Two games of these were Japan versus UAE and Sanfrecce Hiroshima versus Yokohama Marinos. The method of calculating the amount of the activity used three dimensions DLT method. First of all, it takes a picture to install the entire pitch from the main stand rooftop in the competition site on each camera in two video cameras and this image is capture in PC every 1/3 seconds. And, the three?dimensional image analysis software was used, digitized, player's movement and the ball were converted into objective positional coordinates, and the amount of the activity was calculated on coordinate data. The following results were obtained by analyzing these data. In the J league game, the average speed of the ball was 6.04±6.26m/sec in the first half, and 6.23±5.52m/sec in the second half. In the game Japan versus UAE, the average speed of the ball was 6.11±6.29 in the first half, and 5.12±6.56 in the second half. The change of the average running speed of the field players of a team was highly affected by the change of the ball speed from both 2games.
An Analysis of 2D/3D Data Fusion for a Sensor Resource Reduction
Takashi Matsuzaki,Mitsuhisa Ikeda,Hiroshi Kameda 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
In tracking flying objects using 3D sensors which observe range and angle observations such as elevation and azimuth in 3D sensor system, there may not be enough 3D sensor resources such as a number of radar and radar beams. In consequence, it it difficult to achieve desired tracking accuracy due to the lack of 3D sensor coverage, it cannot be done to achieve users’ desired tracking accuracy. Therefore, to apply 2D sensors for 3D sensor system is needed in term of filling some blank of 3D sensor coverage, and moreover it is necessary to minimize the 3D sensor resources at the same time. 2D sensor observes angle observations (elevation and azimuth). In SICE2008, we have already proposed a 2D/3D Data Fusion method for launched target. However, this method is not confirmed in any condition, for example, situation based on combination of number of sensors, the location of sensors and performance of sensors, etc. In this paper, we carried on a sensitivity analysis of tracking accuracy for various location of 2D sensor platform with different location of 3D sensors, and various sensors, etc. As the result of the computer simulations, we could confirm one or two 3D sensors with 2D sensor system are superior to three 3D sensor system in a view point of tracking accuracy.

Ammonia has received significant attention as a fuel due to its carbon-free molecular structure. However, burning ammonia is challenging because of its low laminar burning velocity. To promote the combustion velocity, the authors propose a constant volume combustion chamber with a sub-chamber. This study investigated the effects of the mixing time and equivalence ratio of the ammonia/oxygen/argon mixture on combustion. The mean velocity of the ejection from the sub-chamber can be calculated by evaluating the combustion pressure, mass fraction burned, and volume fraction burned. It was clarified that with the sub-chamber structure, the ejection from the sub-chamber improved the compression and turbulence of unburned gas in the main chamber and increased the mean flame velocity of ammonia combustion. The appropriate glow plug temperature could improve the ignitability of the fuel mixture, leading to increased combustion efficiency, maximum combustion pressure, and reduced combustion time.

Improving thermal efficiency of internal combustion engines has been a priority in the automotive industry. It is necessary to model the heat transfer phenomenon at the intake system and precisely predict intake air’s mass flow rate into the engine cylinder. In the previous studies, the heat transfer at the intake system was modeled as quasi-steady state phenomenon, based on Colburn analogy. Authors developed two empirical equations with the introduction of Graetz and Strouhal numbers. In the present study, further improvements were done by the addition of pressure ratio between the intake manifold and atmospheric pressure, along with Reynolds number in order to characterize the backflow gas effect on intake air temperature. Compared with the experimental results, maximum and average errors of intake air temperature estimations inside the manifold found to be 2.9 % and 0.9 %, respectively.

Required physical abilities or factors for players are researched using indirect data, Physiology of Exercise. The purpose of this paper is measuring players running distance and various types of speed as direct data. Setting two video cameras (SONY DCR-VX1000), each one covering an entire pitch, recorded one of the J-LEAGUE MATCHES. It captured every 1/3sec frame from the recorded tape, and coordinated positions of all players' movements and ball using application software (MPJapan TOMOKO-VM). The coordinated positions data are treated with original application software. After analyzing the data, we found the following; 1) Average distance of each player moved on the match was about 13 to 14 ㎞. GK's distance was about 60% of field players. 2) Increasing players running speed, the number of one's propotion was decreased. 3) Each team showed similar total distances with the 1st and 2nd half, and the 2nd half distance indicated much longer than the 1st half. In comparison each plaver's 1st half distance and 2nd half, it was not unified.
