Link Between Electroacupuncture Stimulation near the Sympathetic Trunk and Heart Rate Variability
Takahashi Kazufumi,Wang Xiaoming,Shinohara Daiyu,Imai Kenji 사단법인약침학회 2022 Journal of Acupuncture & Meridian Studies Vol.15 No.2
Background: The cardiovascular system and airway smooth muscles are regulated by the autonomic nervous system. Objectives: This study investigated the effect of electrical acupuncture stimulation near the cervical sympathetic ganglia on heart rate variability and respiratory function. Methods: This prospective, single-center study at Teikyo Heisei University recruited 24 healthy adults randomly assigned to no-stimulation and electroacupuncture (EA) groups in a crossover trial with a 2-week washout period. After 5 min of rest, a 5-min rest or acupuncture stimulus was delivered, followed by a further 5 min of rest for both groups. EA, at 2-Hz (level of no pain), was delivered near the left cervical ganglia at the level of the sixth cervical vertebra in the EA group. Results: The high-frequency component of the heart rate variability was significantly higher in the EA group than that in the no-stimulation group. Further, there was a significant increase in the high-frequency component of the heart rate in the EA group during the stimulation compared to before and after stimulation. Heart rate decreased significantly during EA compared to before stimulation in the EA group. Regarding respiratory function, forced vital capacity, forced expiratory volume in 1 s, and peak flow significantly increased in the EA group compared with the no-stimulation group, and after stimulation compared with before stimulation. Conclusion: Stimulation with 2-Hz EA near the cervical sympathetic trunk increased parasympathetic nerve activity and reduced heart rate. However, the respiratory function was activated via increased sympathetic nerve activity. Therefore, 2-Hz EA may be effective for autonomic nerve regulation in bronchial stenosis.
Ultra-Small Electric Vehicle Competition Using Small Rechargeable Batteries
Yoshihiko Takahashi,Kazufumi Uda 제어로봇시스템학회 2012 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2012 No.10
An ultra-small electric vehicle competition using small rechargeable batteries was held at the Kanagawa Institute of Technology in Japan. The competition was called the pico-EV Eco Challenge 2012, and participants competed based on distance travelled within 30 minutes of operation using only six small rechargeable Ni-MH (nickel metal hydride) batteries (7.2V, 1900mAh). Eleven vehicles and about 60 people participated. The winning team was able to travel approximately 3km. This paper will present the administration and the results of the completion.

A sustainable education system using electric vehicles is proposed in this paper. University students are able to learn how to use ecological energy sources and the how to design ecological vehicles in step-by-step processes. Three energy sources are considered; sunlight, hydrogen produced from water extracted using sunlight and electrolysis, and bio fuel squeezed from plant seeds. We will explain the three levels of the program to apply to varying skill levels. Students will begin to learn from a basic level.
Isolation and characterization of acid-soluble bluefin tuna (Thunnus orientalis) skin collagen

In this study, we isolated and characterized the acid-soluble skin collagen of Pacific bluefin tuna (PBT, Thunnus orientalis). The PBT skin collagen was composed of two ${\alpha}$ chains (${\alpha}1$ and ${\alpha}2$) and one ${\beta}$ chain. The denaturation temperature of PBT collagen was low although it was rich in proline and hydroxyproline. The primary structure of PBT skin collagen was almost identical to that of calf and salmon skin collagen; however, it differed with respect to the epitope recognition of the antibody against salmon type I collagen. These results suggest that the primary structure of skin collagen was highly conserved among animal species, although partial sequences that included the epitope structure differed among collagens.

Required physical abilities or factors for players are researched using indirect data, Physiology of Exercise. The purpose of this paper is measuring players running distance and various types of speed as direct data. Setting two video cameras (SONY DCR-VX1000), each one covering an entire pitch, recorded one of the J-LEAGUE MATCHES. It captured every 1/3sec frame from the recorded tape, and coordinated positions of all players' movements and ball using application software (MPJapan TOMOKO-VM). The coordinated positions data are treated with original application software. After analyzing the data, we found the following; 1) Average distance of each player moved on the match was about 13 to 14 ㎞. GK's distance was about 60% of field players. 2) Increasing players running speed, the number of one's propotion was decreased. 3) Each team showed similar total distances with the 1st and 2nd half, and the 2nd half distance indicated much longer than the 1st half. In comparison each plaver's 1st half distance and 2nd half, it was not unified.
