CONSUMER ATTITUDE TOWARD OUTLET STORES AND RETAILER LOYALTY ACCORDING TO CONSUMER SHOPPING TYPEs
Minjae Seo 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2014 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2014 No.5
Modern consumers have significantly changed their shopping patterns, so that retailers must employ competitive and innovative strategies to counter the many new types of stores such as outlets offering premium services. In addition, customers have become smarter shoppers, refusing to pay more because of brand loyalty, especially when service and price differences have diminished. This study is an analysis of consumer shopping behavior in an effort to find effective marketing strategies to appeal to consumers who shop in outlet stores. Previous research has shown that shoppers may be clustered according to whether they are oriented toward convenience, brands, hedonism, economics, or trends. Different consumer types have different attitudes toward retailer types and also vary in their retailer loyalty. Some types have strong customer loyalty to outlet stores, but others do not. In this study, we examine the relationship between consumer attitude toward the outlet store and retailer loyalty according to consumer shopping types. Hedonism-oriented and economics-orientated consumers are expected to have more interest in outlet shopping than are brand-oriented consumers.

People from all cultures are averse to looking dumb in front of others, especially if there is a large audience. However, there could be a difference between Face and Dignity cultures in the extent to which their members see themselves as dumb when they perform poorly before a large versus small audience. In the present study, Chinese and Americans were asked to imagine themselves performing poorly on tasks either in front of 10 others or one other and make judgments about how poorly (a) they thought and (b) others would think they performed on the tasks. Chinese were found to judge their performance more negatively in the large (vs. small) audience, but Americans were not. Audience size effect on self-judgments was mediated by how the Chinese perceived others to judge their performance in the large (vs. small) audience. Findings are discussed in the context of the logic of Face and Dignity cultures.

Two entomopathogenic bacteria, Xenorhabdus nematophila (Xn) and Photorhabdus temperata temperata (Ptt), are symbionts of nematodes, Steinernema carpocapsae and Heterorhabditis megidis, respectively. When the nematodes enter host insect hemocoel, the bacteria are released from the nematode intestine to insect hemocoel and cause immunosuppression, which results in septicemia. Culture broth of both bacteria had insecticidal effects when injected into hemocoel of Plutella xylostella larvae, but did not when orally administered. However, either mixture of Xn or Ptt with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) significantly enhanced the Bt pathogenicity against P. xylostella. The culture broth was fractionated with hexane and diethylacetate extracts. Diethylacetate extract had potent factor (s) to increase Bt pathogenicity. A compound, benzylideneacetone, identified from the diethylacetate fraction had oral toxicity against P. xylostella. This compound also showed high acaricidal effect on the two spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae
관절 간 상호관계 학습을 통한 VR 전신 동작 예측 모델 개선 연구
서민재(Minjae Seo),박경주(Kyoungju Park) 한국HCI학회 2024 한국HCI학회 학술대회 Vol.2024 No.1

Conventional procedures to assay RNA degradation by a protein with ribonuclease (RNase) activity require a step to isolate intact RNA molecules, which are used as a substrate. Here, we established a novel “In-cell RNA hydrolysis assay” in which RNAs within cells are used as a substrate for the RNA-hydrolyzing protein, thereby avoiding the need to prepare intact RNA molecules. In this method, the degree of RNA degradation is indicated by the fluorescence intensity of RNA molecules released from fixed and permeabilized cells following treatment with the potential RNase. A catalytic 3D8 antibody capable of degrading RNAs and pancreatic RNase A were used as model RNases. Our data demonstrate that the novel In-cell RNA hydrolysis assay is a reliable and sensitive method to analyze the activities of potential RNA-hydrolyzing proteins such as catalytic antibodies.
