<P>The fabrication of Ag nanowire (AgNW) patterns on a working substrate is a critical step to prepare flexible/stretchable electronics. The conventional method of making AgNW patterns is based on a 2-D mask, which suffers some serious drawbacks, such as low material usage, difficulty in preparing complex patterns, and susceptibility to damaged pattern edges. To overcome these drawbacks, this study proposes the use of a 3-D mask, which when combined with a vacuum filtration system, allowed efficient fabrication of complex AgNW patterns with clear edges. In addition, we controlled the microstructure of the patterned AgNW/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) electrodes transferred from the membrane filter, obtaining stretchable electrodes with anisotropic electrical properties. Moreover, we greatly improved the stability and reliability of the patterned electrodes in long-term stretch/release tests by developing a PDMS/AgNW/PDMS sandwich structure. Based on these improvements, robust stretchable electrodes with a stretchability of over 80% uniaxial strain and tunable gauge factors ranging from 0.07 to 520 (a much wider range than previously reported) were fabricated by optimizing the AgNW deposition density and PDMS peel-off direction. Finally, we demonstrated the applicability of the proposed method by fabricating stretchable circuits which were able to either maintain a stable resistance or sensitively monitor various human motions, revealing its tremendous potential for applications in flexible/stretchable electronics.</P>

Li, Xiao-Pan,Xie, Zhen-Yu,Fu, Yi-Fei,Yang, Chen,Hao, Li-Peng,Yang, Li-Ming,Zhang, Mei-Yu,Li, Xiao-Li,Feng, Li-Li,Yan, Bei,Sun, Qiao Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.7
Objectives: Understanding the situation of cancer awareness which doctors give to patients might lead to prognostic prediction in cases of of colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods: Subsets of 10,779 CRC patients were used to screen the risk factors from the Cancer Registry in Pudong New Area in cancer awareness, age, TNM stage, and gender. Survival of the patients was calculated by the Kaplan-Meier method and assessed by Cox regression analysis. The views of cancer awareness in doctors and patients were surveyed by telephone or household. Results: After a median observation time of 1,616 days (ranging from 0 to 4,083 days) of 10,779 available patients, 2,596 of the 4,561 patients with cancer awareness survived, whereas 2,258 of the 5,469 patients without cancer awareness and 406 of the 749 patients without information on cancer awareness died of the disease. All-cause and cancer-specific survival were poorer for the patients without cancer awareness than those with (P < 0.001 for each, log-rank test). Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that cancer concealment cases had significantly lower cancer-specific survival (hazard ratio (HR) = 1.299; 95 % confidence interval (CI): 1.200-1.407)and all-cause survival (HR = 1.324; 95 % CI: 1.227-1.428). Furthermore, attitudes of cancer awareness between doctors and patients were significantly different (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Cancer concealment, not only late-stage tumor and age, is associated with a poor survival of CRC patients.

<P>Recently, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have demonstrated great potential in photocatalysis and luminosity applications. However, most MOFs are dielectrics with substantial band gaps which limits applications of MOFs in the visible-light region. In this paper, we systematically tune the band gap of paradigm MOF-5 by substituting new atoms for the corner elements (X4Y), in computer simulations using density functional theory. The new proposed materials are labeled X4Y–MOF-5 (X = Zn, Cd, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba; Y = O, S, Se, Te). These new materials have band gaps ranging from 1.7 to 3.6 eV. The underlying mechanism of tunability of band gap can be ascribed to the electronic states of chalcogen atoms (O, S, Se, Te) in the X4Y nodes and carbon atoms in the BDC linkers. The substantial tunability of band gap leads to a large absorption range covering the visible spectrum. These proposed new materials may be useful for future applications in visible-light promoted photocatalysis or luminosity. The tunability of other properties such as bulk modulus, chemical bonding, and optical properties were also investigated. These novel materials may also be useful for devices in nanoelectronics or optoelectronics.</P><P>The band gap of paradigm MOF-5 is tuned by substituting new atoms for the corner elements (X4Y) using DFT calculations. Recently, wireless power transfer (WPT) via coupled magnetic resonances has attracted a lot of attention owing to its long operation distance and high efficiency. However, the WPT systems is over-coupling and a frequency splitting phenomenon occurs when resonators are placed closely, which leads to a decrease in the transfer power. To solve this problem, an adaptive frequency tracking control (AFTC) was used based on a closed-loop control scheme. An improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was proposed with the AFTC to track the maximum power point in real time. In addition, simulations were carried out. Finally, a WPT system with the AFTC was demonstrated to experimentally validate the improved PSO algorithm and its tracking performance in terms of optimal frequency.
Wireless Synchronous Transfer of Power and Reverse Signals
Yang Li,Yumei Li,Shaojie Feng,Qingxin Yang,Weihao Dong,Jingtai Zhao,Ming Xue 전력전자학회 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.3
Wireless power transfer via coupled magnetic resonances has been a hot research topic in recent years. In addition, the number of related devices has also been increasing. However, reverse signals transfer is often required in addition to wireless power transfer. The structure of the circuit for a wireless power transfer system via coupled magnetic resonances is analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of both parallel compensation and series compensation are listed. Then the compensation characteristics of the inductor, capacitor and resistor were studied and an appropriate compensation method was selected. The reverse signals can be transferred by controlling the compensation of the resistor. In addition, it can be demodulated by extracting the change of the primary current. A 3.3 MHz resonant frequency with a 100 kHz reverse signals transfer system platform was established in the laboratory. Experimental results demonstrate that wireless power and reverse signals can be transferred synchronously.

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effects of dietary maifanite supplementation and fecal collection method on the apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) and blood parameters in growing pigs. Methods: Thirty-six growing barrows (Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire; 27.0±2.6 kg) were allotted to six dietary treatments with 6 pigs per treatment according to body weight in a completely randomized design. The experimental treatments were: i) Low Ca+cornstarch (2.25%), ii) Low Ca+maifanite (2.25%), iii) Medium Ca+cornstarch (1.42%), iv) Medium Ca+maifanite (1.42%), v) High Ca+cornstarch (0.64%), and vi) High Ca+maifanite (0.64%). Feces were collected by the total collection (TC) and indicator method (IM). At the beginning and the end of the experiment, blood samples were collected from each pig. Results: For the TC method, there were no difference in Ca intake, fecal Ca output, Ca retention and the ATTD of Ca between cornstarch and maifanite diets at the same dietary Ca level. However, urinary Ca excretion was lower (p = 0.01) in pigs fed low Ca diets without maifanite supplementation compared with other dietary treatments. Dietary maifanite supplementation had no effect on the P metabolism in growing pigs. For the IM method, there was no difference in Ca digestibility between cornstarch and maifanite diets at the same dietary Ca level. The ATTD of P was greater (p<0.01) in pigs fed the high Ca diet with maifanite supplementation compared with the high Ca diet with cornstarch treatment. Dietary inclusion of maifanite had no effect on blood parameters in growing pigs. Conclusion: Dietary maifanite supplementation had no effect on the ATTD of Ca and P and serum parameters in growing pigs. The IM resulted in lower digestibility values than the TC method.

Gaeumannomyces graminis var. tritici is a soil borne pathogenic fungus associated with wheat roots. The accurate quantification of gene expression during the process of infection might be helpful to understand the pathogenic molecular mechanism. However, this method requires suitable reference genes for transcript normalization. In this study, nine candidate reference genes were chosen, and the specificity of the primers were investigated by melting curves of PCR products. The expression stability of these nine candidates was determined with three programs-geNorm, Norm Finder, and Best Keeper. TUBβ was identified as the most stable reference gene. Furthermore, the exopolygalacturonase gene (ExoPG) was selected to verify the reliability of TUBβ expression. The expression profile of ExoPG assessed using TUBβ agreed with the results of digital gene expression analysis by RNA-Seq. This study is the first systematic exploration of the optimal reference genes in the infection process of Gaeumannomyces graminis var. tritici.
