Cable supported structures offer an elegant and economical solution for bridging over long spans with resultant low material content and ease of construction. In this paper, a model of shallow cable supported footbridge with reverse profiled pre-tensioned cables is treated and its load deformation characteristics under different quasi-static loads are investigated. Effects of important parameters such as cable sag and pre-tension are also studied. Numerical results performed on a 3D model show that structural stiffness of this bridge (model) depends not only on the cable sag and cross sectional areas of the cables, but also on the pre-tension in the reverse profiled cables. The tension in the top supporting cables can be adjusted to a high level by the pre-tension in the reverse profiled bottom cables, with the total horizontal force in the bridge structure remaining reasonably constant. It is also evident that pre-tensioned horizontally profiled cables can greatly increase the lateral horizontal stiffness and suppress the lateral horizontal deflection induced by eccentric vertical loads.

In attempt to lead compounds exhibiting both insecticidal and fungicidal activities, a series of O-benzyl oximeether derivatives were designed and synthesized by introducing β-methoxyacrylate pharmacophore into a scaffold. The insecticidal activity against Aphis fabae and the fungicidal activity against Erysiphe graminis were screened. The title compounds exhibited remarkable insecticidal and fungicidal activities. The most potent compound 6d was identified. Its insecticidal LC50 against A. fabae is 6.4 mg/L, which is lower than that of chlorfenapyr (19.4 mg/L) and even close to the level of imidacloprid (4.8 mg/L). Its fungicidal EC90 in preventive and curative treatment against E. graminis are 2.2 and 4.8 mg/L, respectively, which are lower than azoxystrobin (7.0 and 5.9 mg/L). These results indicate that compound 6d can be considered as a lead for further developing new O-benzyl oxime-ether typed candidates with both fungicidal and insecticidal activities.

In attempt to lead compounds exhibiting both insecticidal and fungicidal activities, a series of O-benzyl oximeether derivatives were designed and synthesized by introducing ${\beta}$-methoxyacrylate pharmacophore into a scaffold. The insecticidal activity against Aphis fabae and the fungicidal activity against Erysiphe graminis were screened. The title compounds exhibited remarkable insecticidal and fungicidal activities. The most potent compound 6d was identified. Its insecticidal $LC_{50}$ against A. fabae is 6.4 mg/L, which is lower than that of chlorfenapyr (19.4 mg/L) and even close to the level of imidacloprid (4.8 mg/L). Its fungicidal $EC_{90}$ in preventive and curative treatment against E. graminis are 2.2 and 4.8 mg/L, respectively, which are lower than azoxystrobin (7.0 and 5.9 mg/L). Two new isoflavanones, (3R) 5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-2'-methoxyisoflavanone (1) and (3R) 5',8-di-(${\gamma}$,${\gamma}$-dimethylallyl)-2',5-dihydroxyl-4',7-dimethoxyl-isoflavanone (2), were isolated from Uraria clarkei, together with two known compounds dalbergioidin (3), 5,7-dihydroxy-2',4'-dimethoxyisoflavanone (4). The structures involving the absolute configuration of the new compounds were well elucidated by MS, IR, UV, CD, 1D and 2D NMR analyses. Cytotoxicity of the four compounds were assessed, results suggested that compound 2 possessed well cytotoxic activity, against the Hela, K562, and HL60 cell lines with $IC_{50}$ values of 28.0, 40.6 and $35.1{\mu}M$, respectively.

<P>A simple surfactant-assisted reflux method was used in this study for the synthesis of cocklebur-shaped Fe2O3 nanoparticles (NPs). With this strategy, a series of nanostructured Fe2O3 NPs with a size distribution ranging from 20 to 120 nm and a tunable surface area were readily controlled by varying reflux temperature and the type of surfactant. Surfactants such as cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), poly(ethylene glycol)-<I>block</I>-poly(propylene glycol)-<I>block</I>-poly(ethylene glycol) (F127) and sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate (SDBS) were used to achieve large-scale synthesis of uniform Fe2O3 NPs with a relatively low cost. A new composite of Fe3O4@CF<I>x</I> was prepared by coating the primary Fe2O3 NPs with a layer of F-doped carbon (CF<I>x</I>) with a one-step carbonization process. The Fe3O4@CF<I>x</I> composite was utilized as the anode in a lithium ion battery and exhibited a high reversible capacity of 900 mAh g–1 at a current density of 100 mA g–1 over 100 cycles with 95% capacity retention. In addition, a new Fe3O4@CF<I>x</I>/LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 battery with a high energy density of 371 Wh kg–1 (vs cathode) was successfully assembled, and more than 300 cycles were easily completed with 66.8% capacity retention at 100 mA g–1. Even cycled at the high temperature of 45 °C, this full cell also exhibited a relatively high capacity of 91.6 mAh g–1 (vs cathode) at 100 mA g–1 and retained 54.6% of its reversible capacity over 50 cycles. Introducing CF<I>x</I> chemicals to modify metal oxide anodes and/or any other cathode is of great interest for advanced energy storage and conversion devices.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2014/aamick.2014.6.issue-17/am504144d/production/images/medium/am-2014-04144d_0009.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/am504144d'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) is the rate-limiting enzyme in polyamine biosynthesis and a target for chemoprevention. Hydroxydibenzoylmethane (HDB),a derivative of dibenzoylmethane of licorice, is a promising chemopreventive agent. In this paper, we investigated whether HDB would inhibit the ODC pathway to enhance apoptosis in human promyelocytic leukemia HL-60 cells. We found ODC enzyme activity was reduced during HDB treatment. Overexpression of ODC in HL-60 parental cells could reduce HDB-induced apoptosis, which leads to loss of mitochondrial membrane potential (Δψ m), through lessening intracellular ROS. Furthermore, ODC overexpression protected cytochrome c release and the activation of caspase-3 following HDB treatment. The results demonstrated HDB-induced apoptosis was through a mechanism of down-regulation of ODC and occurred along a ROS-dependent mitochondria-mediated pathway.
PRICING VOLATILITY SWAPS UNDER DOUBLE HESTON STOCHASTIC VOLATILITY MODEL WITH REGIME SWITCHING
Huang Yun,Wang Ming-hui 경남대학교 기초과학연구소 2019 Nonlinear Functional Analysis and Applications Vol.24 No.4
In this paper, we consider a continuous-time Heston stochastic volatility model with regime-switching, the asset and volatility dynamics are closely related to the value of Markovian modulated process. Compared with the previous literatures, our propose is to extend the one-stochastic volatility model to the double-stochastic volatility model. We are interested in nding solutions to pricing the discretely-sampled volatility swaps under Heston's framework. We also get a closed-form solution by deriving the characteristic function of the lognormal asset price via a system of partial di erential equations.
