        The Kinetics of Anodic Dissolution and Repassivation on 316L Stainless Steel in Borate Buffer Solution Studied by Abrading Electrode Technique

        The capacity of passive metal to repassivate after film damage determines the development of local corrosion and the resistance to corrosion failures. In this work, the repassivation kinetics of 316L stainless steel (316LSS) was investigated in borate buffer solution (pH 9. 1) using a novel abrading electrode technique. The repassivation kinetics was analyzed in terms of the current density flowing from freshly bare 316L SS surface as measured by a potentiostatic method. During the early phase of decay (t < 2 s), according to the Avrami kinetics-based film growth model, the transient current was separated into anodic dissolution (idiss) and film formation (ifilm) components and analyzed individually. The film reformation rate and thickness were compared according to applied potential. Anodic dissolution initially dominated the repassivation for a short time, and the amount of dissolution increased with increasing applied potential in the passive region. Film growth at higher potentials occurred more rapidly compared to at lower potentials. Increasing the applied potential from 0 VSCE to 0. 8 VSCE resulted in a thicker passive film (0. 12 to 0. 52 nm). If the oxide monolayer covered the entire bare surface (θ=1), the electric field strength through the thin passive film reached 1. 6 × 107 V/cm.

        THE UNIQUENESS OF MEROMORPHIC FUNCTIONS WHOSE DIFFERENTIAL POLYNOMIALS SHARE SOME VALUES

        In this article, we deal with the uniqueness problems of meromorphic functions concerning differential polynomials and prove the following theorem. Let f and g be two nonconstant meromorphic functions, n ≥ 12 a positive integer. If f<sup>n</sup>(f<sup>3</sup> - 1)f′ and g<sup>n</sup>(g<sup>3</sup> - 1)g′ share (1, 2), f and g share ∞ IM, then f ≡ g. The results in this paper improve and generalize the results given by Meng (C. Meng, Uniqueness theorems for differential polynomials concerning fixed-point, Kyungpook Math. J. 48(2008), 25-35), I.         Improvement of OPW-TR Algorithm for Compressing GPS Trajectory Data

        Massive volumes of GPS trajectory data bring challenges to storage and processing. These issues can be addressed by compression algorithm which can reduce the size of the trajectory data. A key requirement for GPS trajectory compression algorithm is to reduce the size of the trajectory data while minimizing the loss of information. Synchronized Euclidean distance (SED) as an important error measure is adopted by most of the existing algorithms. In order to further reduce the SED error, an improved algorithm for open window time ratio (OPW-TR) called local optimum open window time ratio (LO-OPW-TR) is proposed. In order to make SED error smaller, the anchor points are selected by calculating point's accumulated synchronized Euclidean distance (ASED). A variety of error metrics are used for the algorithm evaluation. The experimental results show that the errors of our algorithm are smaller than the existing algorithms in terms of SED and speed errors under the same compression ratio.

        Information Dissemination Model of Microblogging with Internet Marketers

        Microblogging services (such as Twitter) are the representative information communication networks during the Web 2.0 era, which have gained remarkable popularity. Weibo has become a popular platform for information dissemination in online social networks due to its large number of users. In this study, a microblog information dissemination model is presented. Related concepts are introduced and analyzed based on the dynamic model of infectious disease, and new influencing factors are proposed to improve the susceptible-infective-removal (SIR) information dissemination model. Correlation analysis is conducted on the existing information dissemination risk and the rumor dissemination model of microblog. In this study, web hyper is used to model rumor dissemination. Finally, the experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the method in reducing the rumor dissemination of microblogs.

        Image Retrieval Method Based on IPDSH and SRIP

        At present, the Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system has become a hot research topic in the computer vision field. In the CBIR system, the accurate extractions of low-level features can reduce the gaps between high-level semantics and improve retrieval precision. This paper puts forward a new retrieval method aiming at the problems of high computational complexities and low precision of global feature extraction algorithms. The establishment of the new retrieval method is on the basis of the SIFT and Harris (APISH) algorithm, and the salient region of interest points (SRIP) algorithm to satisfy users` interests in the specific targets of images. In the first place, by using the IPDSH and SRIP algorithms, we tested stable interest points and found salient regions. The interest points in the salient region were named as salient interest points. Secondary, we extracted the pseudo-Zernike moments of the salient interest points` neighborhood as the feature vectors. Finally, we calculated the similarities between query and database images. Finally, We conducted this experiment based on the Caltech-101 database. By studying the experiment, the results have shown that this new retrieval method can decrease the interference of unstable interest points in the regions of non-interests and improve the ratios of accuracy and recall.

        Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of Flower-like and Plate-like CuO Nanopowder and Their Photocatalytic Activity for Polluted Lake Water

        Flower-like and plate-like CuO nanopowder has been successfully synthesized using a facile microwave-assisted synthetic route. The morphology and size of the final products strongly depended on microwave power. The phase, structures and morphologies of the as-prepared products were investigated in detail by BET surface area analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In addition, the chemical oxygen demand of polluted lake water was employed for characterization of these new photocatalysts. The results showed correlations between the morphology of CuO micro-crystals and their catalytic properties.

        Polyhexamethylene Biguanide Functionalized Hyperbranched Polymers Enhance Their Antimicrobial Activities

        Hyperbranched antibacterials show much more potential performances than their small molecules due to unique structure. Polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB) functionalized hyperbranched poly(amide-PHMB)s (DPBs) were prepared and their antibacterial properties were investigated using several techniques. The results showed that Gram-positive organisms were more susceptible than Gram-negative bacteria for DPBs, N¹, N³, N<SUP>5</SUP>-tris(2-aminoethyl)benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (DT) and PHMB. DPBs had better comprehensive properties than DT and PHMB, and the best one was DPB1. SEM and AFM were utilized to investigate the interactions between DPB1 and bacterial membranes of E. coli. The mode of action of DPB1 was revealed by the morphological images, which was consistent with bactericidal mechanism of cationic antibacterial agents.

        Study of structural-thermal characteristics of electrified conductors under aeolian vibration

        High-voltage transmission lines are featured by electrical and structural properties. Current studies on aeolian vibration of transmission lines focus primarily on structural responses of unenergized conductors. However, moderate aeolian vibration can also enhance the convection heat transfer capability of a transmission line, which improves the steady current-carrying capacity. In this paper, a fluid-structure interaction (FSI) model is established to study the structural thermal characteristics of overhead electrified aluminum conductor steel-reinforced cable (ACSR) conductors. Moreover, the fatigue damage of the energized conductor is analyzed under operational conditions. Results show that there is considerable influence from aeolian vibration on the current-carrying capacity of energized conductors. Compared with the nonelectrical conductors, aeolian vibration can enhance the convective heat transfer effect of energized conductors. Additionally, fatigue life of electrified transmission lines is larger than that of nonelectrical conductors under aeolian vibration. The developed structure-fluid-thermal model can be used to aid design and operation optimization of transmission lines.
