        The Nexus between International Trade, FDI and Income Inequality

        Purpose - This paper investigated the effect of international trade affects income inequality. It also compares the different effects between developing and developed countries over the period from 2005 to 2014 for 58 countries. Design/methodology - The econometric estimation was used to identify the relationship between export, import, FDI, GDP, unemployment and income inequality. In this empirical analysis, we utilized a Vector Error Correction (VEC) model using panel data. Findings - The findings show that there is a close correlated between trade and income inequality. The higher export ratio of GDP tends to have a 1.79 times more income inequality in developing countries than in developed countries. The higher import ratio of GDP tends to have a 2.44 times higher income inequality in developing countries than in developed countries. Further, Increasing FDI tend to have an approximately 1.43 times higher income inequality in developing countries than in developed countries. Korea is in the middle of developed and developing countries’ result. Originality/value - To correct the global income inequality regarding trade, developed countries’ proactive trade policies, such as granting preferential tariff benefits to developing countries, are likely to be needed and Income Safety Net in international trade must be taken into account.

        Maximizing the Beauty of Ceramic Art Application in Landscape Design under the Background of Artificial Intelligence

        With the large-scale development of urban landscaping construction, the problems in its expression of beauty are gradually emerging. This article selects the beauty of ceramic art in landscape design, which combines complexity and ambiguity, as the research object and conducts a systematic study on its aesthetic evaluation. Ceramic artists use pattern content to express their attitude towards life and pursuit of art. But ce-ramic art creation is difficult and highly professional, making it difficult for non-professionals to get started. Against the backdrop of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, image analysis technology has emerged, allowing non-professionals to decorate ceramic products. In this study, the extraction, quantification, and recognition of ceramic features are carried out through machines. The idea and implementation method of replacing experts with machines for intelligent ceramic recognition are explored. Traditional models such as Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Visual Geometry Group (VGG) network, and fast migration model are introduced, and the improved fast migration model are pro-posed. Finally, through experimental comparison, the results show that the improved fast migration model exhibits robust changes in extrac-tion quality as the learning amount increases, and has generalization ability. It is an effective new method for achieving ceramic aesthetic re-search and analysis, and has good practicality

        Surfactant-Free Synthesis of PdPt/rGO for the Alkaline Ethanol Oxidation Reaction

        In this work, a synthesis method of residue-free PdPt nanodendrites on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) is reported. Using UV light as an energy trigger and methanol as the reducing agent, PdPt nanodendrites are synthesized with clean, residue-free surfaces (e.g., surfactant and polymer). In comparison with commercial Pd/C and Pt/C catalysts, the as-prepared PdPt nanodendrites on rGO have a large electrochemically active surface area, enhanced catalytic activity, high stability, and tolerance toward the ethanol oxidation reaction in alkaline media. Among the nanodendrite composites prepared, those containing a Pd:Pt ratio of 1:2 on rGO exhibit the best stability and durability, and their mass activity is 2.0 and 2.4 times greater than those of commercial Pt/C and Pd/C catalysts, respectively. This strategy presents an environmentally friendly way to fabricate other noble metal catalysts with improved catalytic activity and stability for use in direct alcohol fuel cells.

        Characteristics of La_2O_3―Y_2O_3―Mo cermet cathode with RE_2O_3 nano particles

        The secondary electron emission property and microstructure of La_2O_3―Y_2O_3―Mo cermet cathode have been studied. It shows that the cathode prepared by Sol―Gel doping method has fine microstructure containing rare earth oxide (RE_2O_3) nanoparticles and uniform distribution of different substances. Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) depth profile result shows that an RE_2O_3 layer about 28 nm in thickness could be formed on the cathode surface, which plays an important role in the emission. Pre-activation of the cathode is favorable for the improvement of emission property. La_2O_3―Y_2O_3―Mo cathode preactivated exhibits good secondary emission property. The secondary emission yield could reach 5.24,about 1.8 times higher than that of original cathode. The enhancement on the conductivity of materials resulting from the pre-activation is favorable for the replenishment and transport of electrons, thus the secondary emission property of the cathode could be improved.

        Robust Image Watermarking via Perceptual Structural Regularity-based JND Model

        A better tradeoff between robustness and invisibility will be realized by using the just noticeable (JND) model into the quantization-based watermarking scheme. The JND model is usually used to describe the perception characteristics of human visual systems (HVS). According to the research of cognitive science, HVS can adaptively extract the structure features of an image. However, the existing JND models in the watermarking scheme do not consider the structure features. Therefore, a novel JND model is proposed , which includes three aspects: contrast sensitivity function, luminance adaptation, and contrast masking (CM). In this model, the CM effect is modeled by analyzing the direction features and texture complexity, which meets the human visual perception characteristics and matches well with the spread transform dither modulation (STDM) watermarking framework by employing a new method to measure edge intensity. Compared with the other existing JND models, the proposed JND model based on structural regularity is more efficient and applicable in the STDM watermarking scheme. In terms of the experimental results, the proposed scheme performs better than the other watermarking scheme based on the existing JND models.

        Skin Lesion Image Segmentation Based on Adversarial Networks

        Traditional methods based active contours or region merging are powerless in processing images with blurring border or hair occlusion. In this paper, a structure based convolutional neural networks is proposed to solve segmentation of skin lesion image. The structure mainly consists of two networks which are segmentation net and discrimination net. The segmentation net is designed based U-net that used to generate the mask of lesion, while the discrimination net is designed with only convolutional layers that used to determine whether input image is from ground truth labels or generated images. Images were obtained from “Skin Lesion Analysis Toward Melanoma Detection” challenge which was hosted by ISBI 2016 conference. We achieved segmentation average accuracy of 0.97, dice coefficient of 0.94 and Jaccard index of 0.89 which outperform the other existed state-of-the-art segmentation networks, including winner of ISBI 2016 challenge for skin melanoma segmentation.

        SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF AU NANOPARTICLES/REDUCED GRAPHENE OXIDE NANOCOMPOSITE: A FACILE AND ECO-FRIENDLY APPROACH

        In this paper, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) was used as a green reductant both for thefabrication of soluble reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and the synthesis of Au nanoparticles/rGOnanocomposite. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra con¯rmed the e±cient removal of theoxygen-containing groups in graphene oxide (GO) through the reduction act of EGCG. Aunanoparticles (AuNPs) were anchored onto the rGO sheets by heating the mixed solution of rGOand chloroauric acid at 65?C using EGCG as reductant. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM), atomic force microscope (AFM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) wereemployed to characterize the resulting nanocomposite. Due to the chelating e®ect of polyhydroxyEGCG, AuNPs with diameters of ? 20 – 50 nm were stably decorated onto both sides of the rGOsheets. Because this reduction method avoids the use of toxic reagents, AuNPs/rGO nano-composite would be eco-friendly, and it might be useful not only for electronic devices but also forbiocompatible materials in the future applications.

        A study on tensile strength mechanism of hypoeutectic gray cast iron reinforced by composite silicon carbide powder

        This study aims to reveal the changes in the microstructure of hypoeutectic gray cast iron under the addition of compositesilicon carbide powder of different mass fractions, and to explore how modified silicon carbide (SiC) particles of different sizesand contents improve the mechanical properties of hypoeutectic gray cast iron. The results showed that the modified SiCparticles increased the nucleation, the undercooling and microstructure of hypoeutectic gray cast iron, and the tensile strengthof the iron at room temperature was increased by 18,28%. The present work solves the problem that traditional SiC ceramicparticles are prone to agglomeration in molten metal, analyzes its action mechanism, and can expand the application of SiCceramic particles to strengthening metal properties of casting materials.

        Role of NEAT1/MiR-9-5p/SLC26A2 Pathway on Human Airway Smooth Muscle Cell

        Purpose: Asthma is a serious inflammatory disease of the respiratory system in which airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs) playa key role. This study aimed to investigate the expression of SLC26A2 in human ASMCs (HASMCs) and the regulatory mechanismof SLC26A2 in the proliferation and inflammatory factor production of HASMCs. Materials and Methods: We obtained the asthma-associated differential mRNA SLC26A2 by bioinformatics analysis in childhoodacute asthma samples. To investigate its role in airway inflammation and airway remodeling, we treated HASMCs with plateletderivedgrowth factor (PDGF) in an in vitro model and determined SLC26A2 expression in cells using western blotting. Cell proliferationwas detected by MTT and EdU assays, and cell contractile phenotype marker proteins were measured. Cell migrationand production of inflammatory factors were determined by Transwell and ELISA assays. Additionally, the upstream regulatorymiRNA and LncRNA of SLC26A2 were identified by bioinformatics, luciferase reporter gene, and RIP analyses. Results: SLC26A2 was significantly upregulated in bioinformatics analysis of pediatric asthma-related sample. PDGF treatmentup-regulated SLC26A2 expression in HASMCs, whereas the knockdown of SLC26A2 inhibited PDGF-stimulated proliferation,migration, and production of inflammatory factors, and enhanced the expression of cell contractile phenotype marker proteinsin HASMCs. Luciferase reporter and RIP experiments validated that NEAT1 targeted miR-9-5p to regulate SLC26A2, thereby influencingthe biological function of PDGF-induced HASMCs. Conclusion: These findings indicate that NEAT1-mediated miR-9-5p targeting of SLC26A2 inhibits the PDGF-induced proliferationand production of inflammatory factors in HASMCs. These findings highlight potential therapeutic targets for asthma andairway inflammation.
