Testing the Hypothesis on the Cointegrating Vector When Data May Have a Near Unit Root
Masako Miyanishi 한국계량경제학회 2011 계량경제학보 Vol.22 No.1
This paper considers the size distortion problem when testing the hypothesis on the cointegrating vector. The test on the cointegrating vector tends to be erroneously rejected. We propose constructing a valid confidence interval by application of the Bonferroni’s inequality, and compare the performance to another alternative procedure.
Acute Care for the ElderlyEducating Patients on Medication Use
( Masako Terada ) 한남대학교 사회과학연구소 2013 사회과학연구 Vol.22 No.-
In our aging society, medication management is crucial to decrease the costs associated with medication nonadherence and ensure adequate symptom management among older adults. This project focused on the type of medication education utilized by acute care registered nurses (RNs) and the barriers associated with imparting such education. The results suggest that the challenges faced by RNs in imparting such education and the methods of medication management are not fully addressed in the education system for these nurses.

Activation of the COX-2/microsomal prostaglandin E synthase-1 (mPGES-1)/prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) signaling axis is a hallmark of many cancers, including colorectal cancer, prompting the implementation of prevention strategies targeting COX-2 activity. We have previously shown that targeting the downstream terminal PGE2 synthase, mPGES-1 (Ptges), specifically reduces inducible PGE2 formation without disrupting synthesis of other essential prostanoids, thereby conferring dramatic cancer protection against colon carcinogenesis in multiple mouse models. In order to accelerate its development as a viable drug target, and to better understand the mechanisms by which PGE2 influences colon carcinogenesis, we recently developed a conditional Ptges knockout mouse model (cKO). To evaluate the functional role of Ptges directly within the colonic epithelia, cKO mice were crossed with carbonic anhydrase 1 (Car1)-Cre mice (cKO.Car1), and colon tumors were induced using the azoxymethane/dextran sodium sulfate protocol. Unexpectedly, epithelial-specific blockade of Ptges failed to protect mice against colon tumor development. Further studies using the cKO mouse model will be necessary to pinpoint the cell type-specific location of mPGES-1 and its control of inducible PGE2 formation that drives tumor formation in the colon. Key Words PGE2, mPGES-1, Colonic neoplasms, Azoxymethane, Dextran sulfate sodium
Feature-relativized Criterial Freezing
Masako Maeda 한국생성문법학회 2019 생성문법연구 Vol.29 No.1
This paper investigates the motivation for criterial freezing: the ban on movement from a criterial position. Rizzi (2006) argues that criterial freezing is motivated by the duality of semantics and the economy condition on chain formation: a chain may only have one theta-role and one discourse property. On the other hand, Rizzi (2015) attributes criterial freezing to the labeling algorithm and the maximality principle. This paper’s objective is twofold. First, I demonstrate that the labeling algorithm-based criterial freezing is only applicable to overt movement given the standard assumption that the labeling algorithm is only applicable to an element with phonological features. Second, I extend the semantic-based criterial freezing of Rizzi (2006) and argue that criterial freezing is sensitive to exhaustive satisfaction of criterial features; this feature-based criterial freezing accounts for the fact that an element with multiple criterial features may covertly move from one criterial position to another.
