This paper is concerned with the observer-based sliding mode control (OBSMC) problem for Markovian jump systems with time-varying delays under the event-triggered protocol (ETP). Firstly, the ETP is introduced with hope to decrease the communication burden and determine whether the signal should be updated. Due to the fact that the system state is immeasurable, an observer is designed based on the measurement subsequently. Furthermore, by means of Lyapunov functional scheme, sufficient conditions ensuring the stochastic stability of sliding mode dynamics are obtained. Moreover, an event-triggered sliding mode control law is designed to drive the state trajectories onto a pre-defined sliding vicinity. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed OBSMC method is verified with the aid of a simulation example.

This paper investigates the progressive damage of filament wound composite tubes embedded within metal joints. Finite element analysis (FEA) modellings were provided through CADWIND filament wound simulation software, and progressive damage analysis of composite tubes was carried out using the Puck criterion under tensile loading. Besides, the ultimate tensile loading of composite tube was carried out. It was found that the inside metal joint extruded the outer composite layers, which resulted in further failure damage of the composite tubes. Furthermore, thickening the composite layer outside metal joint was beneficial to improve the tensile load of the composite tube. Moreover, the numerical results of the FEA provided a reasonably good agreement with the experimental results, which was less than 10 % on the ultimate tensile loading value. Finally, the FEA with the Puck criterion was suitable to predict the progressive damage of filament wound composite tube embedded with metal joints.

Beauveria bassiana infects a number of pest species and is known to produce insecticidal substances, such as the nonribosomal peptides (NRPs) beauvericin and bassianolide. However, most NRPs and their biological roles in B. bassiana remain undiscovered. To identify NRPs that potentially contribute to pathogenesis, the 21 predicted NRP synthetases (NRPSs) or NRPS-like proteins of B. bassiana ARSEF 2860 were primarily ranked into three functional groups: basic metabolism (7 NRPSs), pathogenicity (12 NRPSs), and unknown function (2 NRPSs). Based on the transcript levels during in vivo growth on diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus)), half of the Group II NRPSs were likely to be involved in infection. Given that the metabolites biosynthesized by these NRPSs remain to be determined, our result underlines the importance of the NRPSome in fungal pathogenesis, and will serve as a guide for future genomic mining projects to discover functionally essential and structurally diverse NRPs in fungal genomes.
