The Anti-compaction Behavior of Aramid Fiber Based Polyvinylidene Fluoride Composite Separation Membranes

        Hongbin Li,Wenying Shi,Shuo Mei,Jinchao Li,Qiyun Du,Longwei Qin,Haixia Zhang 한국섬유공학회 2019 Fibers and polymers Vol.20 No.2

Poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) (PPTA), as the raw polymer material of Aramid fiber-1414, has high modulus and high strength which is commonly used in the reinforced composites. However, the general blending often accompany the microphase incompatibility in polymer matrix. In this study, PPTA molecules were incorporated into poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane matrix through in situ polycondensation of p-phenylene diamine (PPD) and terephthaloyl chloride (TPC) in PVDF solution and PPTA/PVDF molecular composite membranes were prepared via the subsequent nonsolvent induced phase separation (NIPS) process. The anti-compaction properties of resulted PPTA/PVDF molecular composite membranes were systematically investigated including the variations of bursting pressure and membrane thickness, porosity, pure water flux under different pressures. The results suggested that membrane comprehensive anticompaction properties were improved with the increasing of PPTA content in PVDF membrane matrix. Combining the variation trends of membrane anti-compaction properties with morphologies, the compaction-deformation evolution processes of two membrane pore types (sponge-like and finger-like pores) were proposed at the end.

Correlation analysis of muscle amino acid deposition and gut microbiota profile of broilers reared at different ambient temperatures

        Yang, Yuting,Gao, Huan,Li, Xing,Cao, Zhenhui,Li, Meiquan,Liu, Jianping,Qiao, Yingying,Ma, Li,Zhao, Zhiyong,Pan, Hongbin Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2021 Animal Bioscience Vol.34 No.1

Objective: Temperature could influence protein and amino acid deposition as well as gut microbiota profile and composition. However, the specific effects of ambient temperature on amino acids deposition and gut microbiota composition remain insufficiently understood. Methods: A total of 300 one-day-old Avian broilers were randomly divided into three groups and reared at high, medium, and low temperature (HT, MT, and LT), respectively. Breast muscle and fecal samples were collected for amino acid composition analysis and 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Results: Our data showed that compared to the MT group, there was a decrease of muscle leucine and tyrosine (p<0.05), as well as an increase of methionine in the HT group (p<0.05) and a decrease of serine in the LT group. Examination of microbiota shift revealed that at genus level, the relative abundance of Turicibacter and Parabacteroides was increased in the HT group (p<0.05) and that the relative abundances of Pandoraea, Achromobacter, Prevotella, Brevundimonas, and Stenotrophomonas in the LT group were higher than those in the MT group (p<0.05). In addition, there were substantial correlations between microbes and amino acids. In the HT group. Turicibacter was negatively correlated with aspartic acid and tyrosine, whereas Parabacteroides was positively correlated with methionine (p<0.05). In the LT group, there were multiple positive correlations between Achromobacter and arginine, isoleucine or tyrosine; between Prevotella and cysteine or phenylalanine; between Brevundimonas and cysteine; and between Stenotrophomonas and cysteine as well as a negative correlation between Stenotrophomonas and serine. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrated that amino acid content of breast muscle and intestinal microbiota profile was affected by different ambient temperatures. Under heat exposure, augmented abundance of Parabacteroides was correlated with elevated methionine. Low temperature treatment may affect muscle tyrosine content through the regulation of Achromobacter.

Interaction Between Serum/Glucocorticoid-Regulated Kinase 1 and Interleukin-6 in Chronic Rhinosinusitis

        Lai Yuting,Hu Li,Yang Lu,Hu Xianting,Song Xiaole,Yang Jingyi,Li Hongbin,Chen Kun,Li Huabin,Wang Dehui 대한천식알레르기학회 2021 Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Research Vol.13 No.5

Purpose: Serum/glucocorticoid-regulated kinase 1 (SGK1) has recently emerged as a critical regulator of inflammatory diseases. In this study, we examined SGK1 expression and its possible pathogenic roles in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Methods: Immunohistochemistry, western blotting, Bio-Plex assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction were performed to assess protein and gene expression levels. The mRNA expression levels of SGK1 and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were extracted from a CRS database to perform correlation analysis. Stable cell lines with SGK1 overexpression (16HBE) and knockdown (A549) were constructed to investigate the interaction between SGK1 and IL-6 in vitro. Results: SGK1 exhibited strong cytoplasmic and nuclear staining in the epithelial layers and the lamina propria of nasal polyps (NPs) and in the mucosal tissues of CRS without nasal polyps (CRSsNP). The mRNA and protein expression levels of SGK1 and IL-6 were significantly increased in NPs and CRSsNP tissues, compared to control tissues. SGK1 phosphorylation was significantly greater in NPs than in CRSsNP tissues (P < 0.01). The mRNA levels of SGK1 and IL-6 were significantly correlated (P < 0.001, r = 0.649). Exposure to IL-6 significantly increased SGK1 expression in cultured dispersed NP cells, 16HBE cells, and A549 cells. IL-6 expression was significantly down-regulated in SGK1-overexpressing 16HBE cells (P < 0.01) and significantly up-regulated in SGK1-knockdown A549 cells (P < 0.05). Administration of GSK650394, a SGK1 inhibitor, significantly increased IL-6 self-induced mRNA expression in cultured dispersed NP cells and 16HBE cells. Conclusions: The interaction between SGK1 and IL-6 may play an anti-inflammatory role in IL-6-induced inflammation in the pathogenesis of CRS.

Data-driven Model Free Formation Control for Multi-USV System in Complex Marine Environments

        Hongbin Wang,Qianda Luo,Ning Li,Wei Zheng 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.11

Formation control of multi-USV system in complex marine environments is investigated in this study, and a data-driven disturbance observer (DDO)-based model free adaptive control (MFAC) framework is suggested. The FMAC scheme is designed by using only the input and output data of complex USV dynamics, including the calculation of pseudo-Jacobian matrix (PJM) and the calculation of control law. To avoid the problem that the MFAC method cannot be directly applied to USV systems, an improved DDO is used to estimate the complex environmental disturbances and PJM estimation errors. Further, forgetting factor based MFAC (FMFAC) is proposed to avoid overshoot caused by redundant data. Then, the PJM estimation is proved to be accurate while the control structure of DDO-FMFAC is proved to be bounded-input and bounded-output (BIBO). Finally, the performances of the proposed method including effectiveness and robustness are shown in simulation results.

Measurement of TOF of fast neutrons with 238U target

        Li, Meng,Guan, Yuanfan,Lu, Chengui,Zhang, Junwei,Yuan, Xiaohua,Duan, Limin,Yang, Herun,Hu, Rongjiang,He, Zhiyong,Wei, Xianglun,Ma, Peng,Gan, Zaiguo,Yang, Chunli,Zhang, Hongbin,Chen, Liang,Qiu, Tianli Korean Nuclear Society 2021 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.53 No.6

We developed a Dual-PPACs detector for fast neutron measurements that consists of two sets of PPAC: conventional PPAC and fission PPAC. A238U(U3O8) coating is placed in the fission PPAC's anode, which is used as the neutrons conversion layer. An experiment was performed to measure neutron time-of-flight (TOF) in which 252Cf spontaneous fission source was used. An excellent time resolution of 164ps has been observed at 6 mbar in isobutene gas. With the excellent time resolution of Dual-PPACs detector, exact neutron energy can be extracted from the timing measurement. The experimental detection efficiency was 1.9 × 10-7, consistent with the efficiency of 2.5 × 10-7 given by a Geant4 simulation. Ultimately, the results show that the Dual-PPACs detector is a suitable candidate for measuring fast neutrons in the future CiADS system.

Backstepping Sliding Mode Trajectory Tracking via Extended State Observer for Quadrotors with Wind Disturbance

        Hongbin Wang,Ning Li,Yueling Wang,Bo Su 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.10

To overcome nonlinear, underactuated and external wind disturbances problems for the 6-DOF (degrees of freedom) quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system, a backstepping sliding mode control algorithm based on high-order extended state observer (ESO) is proposed. Based on the hierarchical control principle, the quadrotor UAV dynamic system is decomposed into position subsystem and attitude subsystem to facilitate the backsteppingcontrol design. Moreover, the EXO is used to estimate the remaining unmeasurable states and the external wind disturbances online. The advantages of the controllers are that they can not only ensure good tracking performance, but also deal with uncertain external disturbances. To imitate the real situation as much as possible, the external wind disturbances are composed of four basic wind models in this paper. The tracking error and estimate error of the design methods are shown to arbitrarily small by using Lyapunov theory. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control algorithm are proved by the simulation.

Exponential Stability of Nonlinear Delay Equation with Constant Decay Rate via Perturbed System Method

        Chuandong Li,Hui Wang,Hongbin Xu 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2010 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.8 No.5

This paper studies the exponential stability of nonlinear differential equations with constant decay rate under the assumption that the corresponding crisp equation (without delay, simply, non-delay equation) is exponentially stable. Different from most publications dealing with delay systems by applying Lyapunov-type methods, the perturbed system method is used in this paper. It shall be shown that the considered equations will remain exponentially stable provided the time lag is small enough. Moreover, we formulate and estimate the threshold of delay ensuring exponential stability when a constant decay rate appears explicitly in system model, which is better than the existing results.

Design and Synthesis of Acid-resistant Zeolite T/NaY Composite Membrane for Water/Ethanol Separation

        Xiangbo Li,Zhihui Zhou,Liang Chen,Chunlong Kong,Hongbin Du 대한화학회 2019 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.40 No.6

The random distribution of zeolite T on the porous α-Al2O3 tube during growth greatly limits its application in the industry. In this study, the defective zeolite T layer is modified with zeolite NaY. A continuous and dense zeolite T/NaY composite membrane is obtained through characterization by scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. The resulting composite membrane exhibits high selectivity and high permeation flux for 90?wt % ethanol/water solution at 75 °C. Water concentration in the permeation side of the as-synthesized zeolite T/NaY composite membrane is >99.9 wt %, whereas that of primary zeolite T layer is only 60.4 wt %. The water permeation flux of the composite membrane reaches 4.35?kg/m2/h1. The composite membrane displays good stability in acid solution when the pH of the solution is >5.
