        Fabrication and Interface Structural Behavior of Mg/Al Thickness-Oriented Bonding Sheet via Direct Extrusion

        Solid-state bonding of heterogeneous materials is one of the effective ways to achieve light weight. An extrusion formingprocess for Mg/Al thickness-oriented bonding sheet was carried out. Due to triaxial compressive stress in the extrusion container,the AZ31 and AA6061 billets were deformed and the bonding and forming of Mg/Al thickness-oriented sheet can berealized by this method. The observation results of the bonding position by using XRD, SEM and EDS showed that: at theforming temperature with 360–420 °C, it had a good bonding interface, and the width of the transition layer increased withthe increase of the forming temperature. The presence of brittle intermetallic compounds in the transition layer indicated thatmetallurgical bonding had occurred at the interface. Considering all factors comprehensively, when the forming temperaturewas 390 °C, the bonding quality was appropriate. Its tensile-shear strength was 42 MPa, the width of the interface transitionlayer was about 10 μm, and the microhardness was about 164.3 HV. This method provided scientific guidance and technicalreserves for green forming of Mg/Al sheets.

      • Meta-analysis of Circulating Tumor Cells as a Prognostic Marker in Lung Cancer

        Introduction: Recent studies have shown that circulating tumor cells (CTCs) play potential roles as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers with various cancer types. The aim of this study was to comprehensively and quantitatively summarize the evidence for the use of CTCs to predict the survival outcome of lung cancer patients. Materials and Methods: Relevant literature was identified using Medline and EMBASE. Patients' clinical characteristics, overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) together with CTC positive rates at different time points (before, during and after treatment) were extracted. A meta-analysis was performed to clarify the prognostic role of CTCs and the correlation between the CTC appearance and clinical characteristics. Results: A total of 12 articles containing survival outcomes and clinical characteristics and 15 articles containing only clinical characteristics were included for the global meta-analysis. The hazard ratio (HR) for OS predicted by pro-treatment CTCs was 2.61 [1.82, 3.74], while the HR for PFS was 2.37 [1.41, 3.99]. The HR for OS predicted by post-treatment CTCs was 4.19 [2.92, 6.00], while the HR for PFS was 4.97 [3.05, 8.11]. Subgroup analyses were conducted according to histological classification and detection method. Odds ratio (OR) showed the appearance of pro-treatment CTCs correlated with the lymph node status, distant metastasis, and TNM staging, while post-treatment CTCs correlated with TNM staging only. Conclusion: Detection of CTCs in the peripheral blood indicates a poor prognosis in patients with lung cancer.

      • Prognostic Role of MicroRNA-21 in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: a Meta-analysis

        Introduction: Many studies have reported that microRNA-21 (miR-21) mihght predict the survival outcome in non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) but the opposite opinion has also been expressed. The aim of this study was to summarize the evidence for a prognostic role of miR-21. Materials and Methods: All the eligible studies was searched by Medline and EMBASE and patients' clinical characteristics and survival outcome were extracted. Then a meta-analysis was performed to clarify the prognostic role of the miR-21 expression in different subgroups. Results: A total of 8 eligible articles were yielded covering survival outcomes or clinical characteristics. The combined hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) for overall survival (OS) was 2.19 [0.76, 6.30], while the combined HR (95% CI) of Asian group for OS had a significant result, 5.49 [2.46, 12.27]. The combined HR (95% CI) for recurrence free survival or disease free survival (RFS/DFS) was 2.31 [1.52, 3.49]. Odds ratios (ORs) showed that the miR-21 expression was associated with lymph node status and histological type. Conclusion: miR-21 expression could predict the prognostic outcome of NSCLC in Asians, despite some deficiencies in the study data.

        Melatonin Attenuates Noise Stress-induced Gastrointestinal Motility Disorder and Gastric Stress Ulcer: Role of Gastrointestinal Hormones and Oxidative Stress in Rats

        Background/Aims There are increasing evidences for gastrointestinal motility disorder (GIMD) and gastric stress ulcer induced by noise stress. The present study was to investigate the reversed effect of melatonin on GIMD and gastric stress ulcer induced by noise stress and potential mechanism. Methods Noise stress was induced on rats, and melatonin (15 mg/kg) was administered to rats by intraperitoneal injection. Differences were assessed in gastric residual rate (GRR), small intestine propulsion rate (SPR), Guth injury score, cortisol, gastrointestinal hormones (calcitonin-gene-related peptide and motilin) and oxidative stress markers (superoxide dismutase and malondialde hyde) in blood plasma as well as gastric mucosa homogenate with or without melatonin. The pathological examination of gastric mucosa was also performed. Results The GRR and SPR were improved by noise stress compared with control (P < 0.05). The pathological examination and Guth injury score revealed gastric stress ulcer. Moreover, the levels of cortisol, motilin and malondialdehyde in blood plasma and malondialdehyde in gastric mucosa homogenate were increased by noise stress (P < 0.05). CGRP and superoxide dismutase activity in both of blood plasma and gastric mucosa homogenate were significantly decreased (P< 0.05). Furthermore, melatonin reversed changes in GRR, SPR, pathological examination, Guth injury score, cortisol, motilin, CGRP, superoxide dismutase activity and malondialdehyde (P < 0.05). Conclusions Melatonin is effective in reversing the GIMD and gastric stress ulcer induced by noise stress. The underlying mechanism may be involved in oxidative stress and gastrointestinal hormones.         Efficient Measurement Method for Spatiotemporal Compressive Data Gathering in Wireless Sensor Networks

        By means of compressive sensing (CS) technique, this paper considers the collection of sensor data with spatiotemporal correlations in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In energy-constrained WSNs, one-dimensional CS methods need a lot of data transmissions since they are less applicable in fully exploiting the spatiotemporal correlations, while the Kronecker CS (KCS) methods suffer performance degradations when the signal dimension increases. In this paper, an appropriate sensing matrix as well as an efficient sensing method is proposed to further reduce the data transmissions without the loss of the recovery performance. Different matrices for the temporal signal of each sensor node are separately designed. The corresponding energy-efficient data gathering method is presented, which only transmitting a subset of sensor readings to recover data of the entire WSN. Theoretical analysis indicates that the sensing structure could have the relatively small mutual coherence according to the selection of matrix. Compared with the existing spatiotemporal CS (CS-ST) method, the simulation results show that the proposed efficient measurement method could reduce data transmissions by about 25% with the similar recovery performance. In addition, compared with the conventional KCS method, for 95% successful recovery, the proposed sensing structure could improve the recovery performance by about 20%.

        Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) Corporate / Consumer-CSR Activities and Brand Attitude

        본 연구는 삼성, 현대자동차, LG전자 등 중국 시장에서 기업 환경변화를 주도하고 있는 한국기업에 대한 연구와 고찰을 통해 CSR 활동과 적합성, 기업의 평판, 기업의 신뢰도, 소비자들의 태도 간의 상관관계를 분석하고 있다. 최근 기업의 사회적 책임을 중요시하는 움직임이 갈수록 활발해지고 있으며, 특히 해외에서의 CRS 활동은 더욱 강조되고 있는 추세다. 하지만 여전히 이에 대한 깊이 있는 연구 성과는 아직 미흡한 것이 현실이다. 본 연구는 필드 샘플링, 네트워크 샘플링, 단계별 샘플링 추출, 설문지조사 등 다양한 방법들을 결합시켜 연구를 진행하였다. 필드 샘플링은 주로 한국의 경상도 지역과 중국의 창사(長沙), 선양(沈陽) 등의 지역에서 이루어졌으며, 네트워크를 통한 설문지 샘플링 조사는 베이징(北京), 홍콩, 다렌(大連), 창춘(長春), 창사(長沙), 우한(武漢)에서 진행하였으며, 현지조사는 주로 원 투 원 방식을 취했는데 주요 내용은 CSR 활동 사례, CSR에 대한 전반적 질문, 규모측정, 인구통계학적 문제로 구성되었다. 본 논문은 다음과 같은 6가지의 가설을 설정하고 연구를 진행하였는데 설문조사와 통계분석을 통해 다음과 같은 결론과 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, CSR 활동 중 사회 경제적 책임감과 환경보호 요소 변수는 기업의 CSR 적합성에 대해 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 적합성 변수 중 기업과 CSR 활동 간 적합성 변수는 기업의 신뢰도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 기업 신뢰도 변수는 소비자의 모든 태도 변수 즉 인지적 태도, 감정적 태도, 행위적 태도를 포함한 태도 변수에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 기업 평판에도 긍정적 효과로 작용한다. 넷째, 삼성과 기타 중국 진출 대기업들은 CSR 활동과 기업의 CSR 적합성, 기업 신뢰도, 기업 평판, 브랜드 태도 간의 상호관계 면에서 차이점을 보이고 있다는 결론을 도출해 내었다.

        Semi-deterministic Sparse Matrix for Low Complexity Compressive Sampling

        The construction of completely random sensing matrices of Compressive Sensing requires a large number of random numbers while that of deterministic sensing operators often needs complex mathematical operations. Thus both of them have difficulty in acquiring large signals efficiently. This paper focuses on the enhancement of the practicability of the structurally random matrices and proposes a semi-deterministic sensing matrix called Partial Kronecker product of Identity and Hadamard (PKIH) matrix. The proposed matrix can be viewed as a sub matrix of a well-structured, sparse, and orthogonal matrix. Only the row index is selected at random and the positions of the entries of each row are determined by a deterministic sequence. Therefore, the PKIH significantly decreases the requirement of random numbers, which has a complex generating algorithm, in matrix construction and further reduces the complexity of sampling. Besides, in order to process large signals, the corresponding fast sampling algorithm is developed, which can be easily parallelized and realized in hardware. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed sensing matrix maintains almost the same performance but with at least 50% less random numbers comparing with the popular sampling matrices. Meanwhile, it saved roughly 15%-35% processing time in comparison to that of the SRM matrices.

        Maximum Likelihood Receivers for DAPSK Signaling

        This paper considers the maximum likelihood (ML) detection of 16-ary differential amplitude and phase shift keying (DAPSK) in Rayleigh fading channels. Based on the conditional likelihood function, two new receiver structures, namely ML symbol-by-symbol receiver and ML sequence receiver, are proposed. For the symbol-by-symbol detection, the conventional DAPSK detector is shown to be sub-optimum due to the complete separation in the phase and amplitude detection, but it results in very close performance to the ML detector provided that its circular amplitude decision thresholds are optimized. For the sequence detection, a simple Viterbi algorithm with only two states are adopted to provide an SNR gain around 1 dB on the amplitude bit detection compared with the conventional detector.
