        Two-dimensional metal organic framework for effective gas absorption

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Herein, crystalline metal organic framework (MOF) nanosheets have been fabricated through using a modified soft physical exfoliation method from bulk crystals of a layered MOF, [Cd(4,4′‑bpy)<SUB>2</SUB>(H<SUB>2</SUB>O)<SUB>2</SUB>](ClO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>·(2,4′‑bpy)<SUB>2</SUB>·H<SUB>2</SUB>O (MOF-1), and fully characterized via transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscope (AFM).         Evaluating the Effectiveness and Efficiency of the Four-trillion Yuan Stimulus Package: Evidence from Stock Market Returns of Chinese Listed A Shares

        Using stock returns of individual Chinese A shares as dependent variables, we confirm that the 2008 global financial crisis hit China through the demand channel and find that the four-trillion yuan stimulus package had a larger and more lasting effect on stimulating the real economy than on encouraging stock market speculation. The package, implemented with tremendous credit expansion in 2009 and 2010, is both effective and efficient in facilitating the financing of firms’ working capital, but has weaker effects on the financing of investments. Longterm capital allocation is not efficient in that it goes to firms that idiosyncratically invested heavily before the financial crisis but not to those that are in need of capital for investment determined by industry features. Specifically, state-owned companies are privileged in long-term financing but significantly underperform non-state-owned ones.

        Subproteomic profiling from renal cortices in OLETF rats reveals mutations of multiple novel genes in diabetic nephropathy

        Background: Ovarian cancer is a common gynecological malignancy among female patients and poses a serious threat to women's health. Although it has been established that Fos-like antigen 2 (FOSL2) is linked to ovarian cancer (OC), its exact role in the development of OC remains unknown. Objective: This article aims to investigate the role of FOSL2 in ovarian cancer development. Methods: FOSL2 expression in ovarian carcinoma and adjacent tissues was assessed using real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR and western blot. We constructed OE/sh-FOSL2 plasmids and Caspase-1 specific inhibitors (Yvad-CMK) and transfected A 2780 cells with them to identify the relevant cell functions. Furthermore, we used western blot assay to determine the changes in expression of apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC), cysteine aspartate-specific proteasezymogen procaspase 1 (pro-caspase-1), cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase-1 (caspase-1), interleukin-1β precursor (pro-IL-1β), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-18 precursor (pro-IL-18), and interleukin-18 (IL-18). In addition, we measured the concentration of IL-1β and IL-18 using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Moreover, Tthe level of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the cell supernatant was measured by LDH release assay kit. Results: The expression of FOSL2 was significantly higher compared with the surrounding tissues. The proliferation, migration, and invasion of A2780 cells were enhanced after transfection with OE-FOSL2 plasmids; however, the cell apoptosis was significantly decreased. When FOSL2 was overexpressed, the inflammasome-associated proteins such as ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-18 were downregulated. Furthermore, FOSL2 induced apoptosis and activated the production of inflammasomes in A2780 cells. Co-therapy with Yvad-CMK and substantially inhibited apoptosis and activation of inflammasomes. Conclusions: Inhibition of FOSL2 promotes the apoptosis of OC cells by mediating the formation of an inflammasome.

        Calculation Modeling of Tourism Ecological Efficiency Based on Carbon Footprint in Shanxi, China

        Tourism is a typical energy-intensive industry. It is imperative to formulate and implement carbon reduction strategies in Shanxi, China. The Tourism Carbon Footprint and Tourism Ecological Efficiency is the key to ensuring ecotourism’s healthy development. Through data query, model calculation, and panel data analysis, this study uses tourism revenue as an economic indicator and tourism carbon footprint as an environmental indicator to construct a Calculation Modeling for tourism ecological efficiency in Shanxi Province for the period of 2000-2020, totaling 21 years. Based on the results, it is concluded that the average proportion of tourism transportation carbon footprint in Shanxi Province indicates an absolute advantage. The total tourism revenue in 2020 in Shanxi Province shows a sharp decline, greatly affected by COVID-19. Tourism transportation and activity revenues have a higher proportion. The average proportions of tourism dining and accommodation revenue display an increasing trend yearly, while the proportion of tourism activity revenue shows a decreasing trend. Both the overall tourism ecological efficiency and the ecological efficiency of each sector have been increasing yearly, with higher growth rates observed in tourism dining and accommodation ecological efficiency. The aim is to provide a theoretical basis and form a complete model for measuring tourism Ecological Efficiency for Shanxi, China.

      • An Empirical Study on the Validity of Corporate Coaching in China

        corporate coaching brought profound influence on numberiess individuals and organizations since it was introduced into Chinese in 1995, this paper focus on the validity of corporate coaching in China based on the outcome of 2000 questionnaires which come from all of 31 provinces of China and more than 18 industries; nearly 90 percents of the coaching clients undertake the responsibility for managerial effect; 73.6 percents of the coaching clients" age distribution lie in 26-40 years old. The data told us that the clients" personal ability, the relationship with others, and organizational performance can get improvement in different ways. We also found that Chinese traditional excellent culture and managerial intelligences can provide abundant nourishment for the long-term healthy development of corporate coaching in China.

        Numerical studies of the suppression of vortex-induced vibrations of twin box girders by central grids

        A numerical study based on a delayed detached eddy simulation (DDES) is conducted to investigate the aerodynamic mechanism behind the suppression of vortex-induced vibrations (VIVs) of twin box girders by central grids, which have an inhibition effect on VIVs, as evidenced by the results of section model wind tunnel tests. The mean aerodynamic force coefficients with different attack angles are compared with experimental results to validate the numerical method. Next, the flow structures around the deck and the aerodynamic forces on the deck are analyzed to enhance the understanding of the occurrence of VIVs and the suppression of VIVs by the application of central grids. The results show that shear layers are separated from the upper railings and lower overhaul track of the upstream girder and induce large-scale vortices in the gap that cause periodical lift forces of large amplitude acting on the downstream girder, resulting in VIVs of the bridge deck. However, the VIVs are apparently suppressed by the central grids because the vortices in the central gap are reduced into smaller vortices and become weaker, causing slightly fluctuating lift forces on the deck. In addition, the mean lift force on the deck is mainly caused by the upstream girder, whereas the fluctuating lift force is mainly caused by the downstream girder.

        Kinetic Evaluation of Products Inhibition to Succinic Acid Producers Escherichia coli NZN111, AFP111, BL21, and Actinobacillus succinogenes 130ZT

        Succinic acid is one of the platform compounds and its production via natural feedstocks has drawn worldwide concerns. To evaluate the inhibitory effects of fermentation products on the growth of Actinobacillus succinogenes 130ZT and Escherichia coli NZN111, AFP111, BL21, fermentations with addition of individual products in medium were carried out. The cell growth was inhibited when the concentrations of formate, acetate, lactate, and succinate were at range of 8.8-17.6 g/L, 10-40 g/L, 9-18 g/L, and 10-80 g/L, respectively. For these two species of bacteria, E. coli was more resistant to acid products than A. succinogenes, while both endured succinate rather than by-products. As a result of end product inhibition, succinate production yield by A. succinogenes decreased from 1.11 to 0.49 g/g glucose. Logistic and Monod mathematical models were presented to simulate the inhibition kinetics. The Logistic model was found more suitable for describing the overall synergistic inhibitory effects.

        Hybrid nanofiltration membranes prepared by a simultaneous synthesis method for precise molecular separation

        Incorporation of nanofillers is an option to break through the trade-off of nanofiltration membranes. Inthe present work, a simultaneous synthesis method, ZIF and selective layer formed in one step, was proposedto prepare hybrid nanofiltration membrane. Co2+ ions pre-assembled on hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile(PANH) support provided nucleation sites for ZIF-67 formation. The growth of ZIF-67 and theformation of polyethyleneimine (PEI) selective layer on the support completed in one step through codepositingof a solution of PEI and Hmim (2-methylimidazole). The feasibility of the simultaneous synthesismethod was verified by using different supports, PEIs, and the precursor concentrations. All resultsshow that ZIF-67 incorporation improved the water permenace, without significant compromising ofmembrane rejection. At an optimized condition, the obtained hybrid composite membrane showed highpermeance of 35 L/(m2*h*bar) and rejection of 93% toward PEG 200. The permeance increased by about150%–200% compared with the membrane without ZIF-67. Meanwile, the rejections of salts of the hybridmembrane were very low, exhibiting outstanding organic selectivity.

        Self-Healing Polycarbonate-Based Polyurethane with Shape Memory Behavior

        A self-healing polycarbonate-based shape memory polyurethane (PCPU) comprising of polycarbonate diol, 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and 1,4- Butanediol (1,4-BDO) was synthesized. Through a series of shape memory tests, PCPUs showed 100% shape fixation rate, and a shape recovery rate of over 95% within 15 s. PCPUs exhibit excellent mechanical properties compared to common shape memory polymers, such as a tensile strength of up to 38.10 MPa and elongation at break of 616%. Additionally, after being damaged, polyurethane can self-heal within 60 s at 80 °C without any external force, which makes it applicable in many fields.

        Preparation, Characterization and Photocatalytic Activity of Sodium Humate/Nano-TiO2 Coating on Glass Spheres for Flue Gas Denitrification

        A new photocatalyst of sodium humate (HA–Na)/Nano-TiO2 coating on the glass spheres for flue gas denitrification (DeNOx) was prepared using the impregnation method. The HA–Na/TiO2 is characterized by Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The photocatalytic activity of HA–Na/TiO2 on removing NOx was investigated in a self-designed photocatalytic reactor. The synergistic mechanism of HA–Na and TiO2 on DeNOx is also proposed and demonstrated. The experimental results indicate that specific surface area and average pore size of HA–Na are improved owing to the mixed TiO2 nanoparticles. The crystal structure of TiO2 has little change after mixing with HA–Na. Due to high photocatalytic performance of TiO2, NO was oxidized to NO2 and HNO3 eventually. On the other hand, HA–Na support can absorb and react with HNO3, which accelerates 10% of the catalytic reaction of TiO2 and the utilization of light source. The chemical and physiological activity of oxidized HA–Na are improved than the original humate. The HA–Na/TiO2 photocatalysts show great property on eliminating NOx because of the promoting effect between HA–Na and TiO2, and the NO removal efficiency can reach to 80% at the optimum condition.
