Investor Perceptions of Earnings Processes and Post-announcement Drifts
LEEBONGSOO,Oliver M. Rui 한국증권학회 2011 Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies Vol.40 No.1
In this paper, we generalize Bernard and Thomas’s [Journal of Accounting and Economics 13 (1990), 305] ‘‘delayed response’’ hypothesis as an explanation of post-earnings-announcement drifts. By applying a modified version of Beveridge and Nelson’s technique of decomposing a time-series process of earnings into permanent and temporary components, we estimate the relative weight to proxy for investor perception on the temporary component of earnings. We then provide evidence that our measure of investor misperception explains postannouncement drifts after controlling for firm size and investor sophistication. These findings reinforce Bernard and Thomas’s [Journal of Accounting and Economics 13 (1990), 305] conjecture that less weight is placed on temporary components of earnings than would be appropriate if earnings processes were well understood, although not zero as Bernard and Thomas implicitly assumed in their portfolio formation rule. Our results also complement Ball and Bartov’s [Journal of Accounting and Economics 21 (1996), 319] result that investors partially, but not fully, adjust for serial correlation in seasonal differences.

The aim of this study is to develop a new method to measure one-dimensional dose distribution of high-energy electron using a miniature fiber-optic radiation sensor. The measurements are made by a thin plastic optical fiber with an organic scintillating sensor tip. The scintillating light in the visible wavelength range is guided to a silicon photodiode by plastic optical fiber in order to convert light output to electrical signal. The one-dimensional spatial dependence of elctron beam is measured by moving the sensor tip with uniform speed. It is shown that this fiber-optic radiation sensor has better spatial resolution than conventional ion chamber and it needs much less time to measure one-dimensional dose distribution in the high radiation fields.

Measurement of Spatial Resolution in Fiber-optic Image Guides
Lee, Bong-Soo Optical Society of Korea 2001 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.5 No.2
Common methods of determining the spatial resolution of fiber-optic image guides are by measuring the diameter of individual microfibers or by the use of a resolution test target. However these methods cannot provide enough information of spatial resolution in ultrathin fiber-optic image guides. In this study, a simple method to measure the modulation transfer function (MTF) of an mage guide was developed. The MTFs of ultrathin image guides with 3 and 4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ Um diameter were measured by examining transmitted sharp edge image. This method should be especially useful for measuring spatial resolution of ultrahigh resolution image guides with less than 5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ diameter microfibers because their spatial resolution cannot be determined by individual microfiber diameter due to crosstalk and leaky ray phenomena.

Oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (OEGMA) was polymerized from a polymerization initiator-presenting gold substrate by Activator ReGenerated by Electron Transfer Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ARGET ATRP) in water. Compared with the normal surface-initiated ATRP (SI-ATRP), SI-ARGET ATRP of OEGMA proceeded smoothly in the presence of air with l-ascorbic acid as a reducing agent and a CuBr2/2,2'-bipyridyl complex at the ppm level. In addition, SI-ARGET ATRP did not require the additional steps for removing a polymerization inhibitor from the OEGMA monomer and for deoxygenating the solvent. The ellipsometric measurements showed that the polymerized OEGMA (pOEGMA) films prepared by SI-ARGET ATRP were on average 10 times thicker than those prepared by normal SI-ATRP with the same monomer concentration and polymerization time.

The purpose of this thesis is to develop a relational model which can explain consumer selection for exporting goods and analyze the effect of corporate image on the relations between country image and consumer selection under global trade environment. The specific objectives are as follows: 1) to suggest a concept of consumer selection and measurement criteria, 2) to analyze correlations among country image, corporate image and consumer selection and 3) to find out the effect of corporate image on the relations between country image and consumer selection. The SPSS program for window and LISREL program were used to analyze the data for this study. The statistical method used in this study was the covariance structure analysis estimating parameters by maximum likelihood method. Path coefficients were tested for t-tests with a statistical significance level of .05. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, significant correlations were observed among all sub-variables proposed in this study. In addition, significant correlations were detected among country image, consumer selection and corporate image. Second, a hypothetical model proposed in this study was mostly appropriate. Country image had a positive direct effect on consumer selection and corporate image with statistical significance. In addition, it has an indirect impact on consumer selection with statistical significance with corporate image as an intervening variable. Third, corporate image had a significant moderation effect in country image-consumer selection relations. As corporate image levels increased, the effect of country image on consumer selection increased as well. In other words, it has been confirmed that if corporate image levels are high, country image could end up with consumer selection.
The Genealogical Study on Electronic Bill of Lading
LEE, Bong-Soo The Korean Research Institute of International Com 2016 貿易商務硏究 Vol.69 No.-
This thesis examines the problems faced in the electronic bill of lading for which improvements are necessary, and suggests various ways of overcoming those problems. First, to build a negotiation system for electronic B/Ls, active participation from related parties in addition to the government support is essential. Second, electronic B/Ls cannot be utilized within a short period of time in current commercial practices. Third, there should be infrastructure which connects all parties of international commerce through an electronic system. Fourth, instead of promoting mutual recognition through international treaty, there should be a plan which legally specifying mutual recognition between certification authorities. Fifth, it is needed to ease the strictness of electronic signature to promote the global negotiation of electronic B/Ls. Lastly, in prima facie weight of evidence, there was a significant difference with the Rotterdam Rules even in comparison with the Commercial Act which was amended with the significantly advanced rules on electronic B/L. He believed there should be a discreet consideration on these matters at the revision of the Commercial Act. For this, the government has to provide support more aggressively with more interest and commitments.
The Role of Electronic Trade Platform in the Information Technology Era
Lee.Bong Soo 한국무역상무학회 2011 貿易商務硏究 Vol.52 No.-
This thesis examines the problems faced in the electronic trade platform for which improvements are necessary, and suggests various ways of overcoming those problems. Practical implications regarding the advancement of Korea’s u-TradeHub system are as follows. First, from the technical and legal aspects, to make up for a lack of support systems for spread of users, it is required to promote customized advertising strategies through Ministry of Knowledge Economy and establish a global certification system. Second, document standardization and digitalization should be achieved in advance to make the documents istributed through the e-Trade platform in a seamless manner. Furthermore, an ongoing global network development project should be promoted through the e-Trade platform to achieve standardization. Third, from the operational aspect, it is important to maintain an integrated and systematic relationship with related organizations. Because vertical integration among logistics service providers and GSCM are enabled through the e-Trade platform, it is necessary to standardize global network-based linkage and operating systems.
