      • 부신 결핵에 의한 Addison씨병 1예

        Addison's disease is a rare primary adrenal insufficient disorder resulting from chronic deficiency of adrenal cortical hormones. Clinical manefestations are generalized weakenss, weight loss, hyperpigmentation (especially sun exposed area and mucous membrane), hypotension, hyponatremia, hyperkalemia, gastrointestinal symptoms (involving anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain). A 34-year-old woman has experienced slowly progressive generalized weakenss and skin pigmentation, anorexia, nausea, vomiting with ascites and diffuse abdominal pain. On the time of admission, her main clinical manifestations were anorexia, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, generalized weakness, amenorrhea, hair loss, diffuse abdominal pain revealed as Addison's disease due to bilateral adrenal tuberculosis. Her adrenal insufficient symptoms were recovered with the replacement of adrenocortical hormones and antituberculous medications. After treatment, Her skin pigmentation was decreased and menstruation was reappeared. Here we experienced one cases of Addison's disease with tuberculous peritonitis.

      • 당뇨병 신경합병증 환자에서의 Vibratory Perception Threshold에 대한 임상적 고찰

        To assess the relation between vibratory perception threshold(VPT) and diabetic neuropathy, we measured by means of a biothesiometer in 50 diabetics and 41 control subjects, and the following results were obtained. 1. In the control subjects, the VPT value was 4.5 at the left 2nd finger tip and 20.3 at the left calf, and there were no differences between the left and right. 2. Among the asymptomatic diabetic subjects, the VII' value was 9.1 at the left 2nd finger tip and 26.3 at the right calf. Among the symptomatic diabetic subjects, the VPT value was 10.8 at the left 2nd finger tip and 31.6 at the right calf, and there were no differences between the left and right. Symptomatic subjects had higher VPT values at all sites than those of asymptomatic subjects, especially in the left medial malleolus and the left calf(p<0.05). Control subjects had significantly lower VPT values at all sites than those of diabetic subjects(p<0.01). 3. In the difference in VPT between the sexes, control subjects had significantly higher VPT values at the left lateral malleolus, the right and left medial malleolus in males than those of females(p<0.05), diabetic subjects had significantly higher VPT values at the left 2nd finger tip, the left and right ulnar styloid, the right and left Ist toe base in males than those of females. 4. There were positively correlated at the VPT values with age in the diabetic and control subjects. 5. There were not correlated at the VPT values with the metabolic controlin the diabetic and control subjects. 6. There were relatively positively correlated at the VPT values with duration in the asymptomatic diabetic subjects than those of symptomatic diabetic subjects. These results suggest that measurement of VPT provides a quick and reliable assessment of diabetic neuropathy, gives an objective measure of the progress of diabetic neuropathy.

      • Radiation Pattern of Multibeam Array Antenna with Digital Beamforming for Stratospheric Communication System: Statistical Simulation

        This paper presents the results of the numerical simulation of a multibeam active phased array antenna for a High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS). The simulation takes into account the random errors caused by the nonidentity of the array elements and the inaccuracy of the antenna calibration. The results of our statistical simulation show that the strict requirements on the sidelobe envelope for HAPSs can be met when the amplitude and phase distribution errors are minor, a condition which may be achieved by using digital beamforming.

      • Multibeam and Multi-Faced DBF Antenna for HAPS (High Altitude Platform Station)

        Multibeam antennas with digital beamforming (DBF) and analog beamforming (ABF) for the Stratospheric Communication System or HAPS are compared each other. The method of optimal cell forming on the earth surface by a group of the active phased array antennas is presented and the required accuracy of amplitude and phase distribution for channels of Active Phased Array Antenna (APAA) is obtained. Some examples of beam arrangement are given. For covering the service area from nadir to a circle of radius of 55 km by 199 beams, the antenna implemented as a system of seven flat panels is proposed.

      • Antenna Beam Pattern Characteristics of HAPS User Terminal

        <P>High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) are recently considered as a green infrastructure to provide high speed multimedia services. The critical issue of HAPS is frequency sharing with satellite systems. Regulating antenna beam pattern using adaptive antenna schemes is one of means to facilitate the sharing with a space receiver for fixed satellite services on the uplink of a HAPS system operating in U bands. In this letter, we investigate antenna beam pattern characteristics of HAPS user terminals with various values of scan angles of main beam, null position angles, and null width.</P>

        Degradation Analysis of User Terminal EIRP and G/T due to Station-Keeping Variation of Stratospheric Platform

        Wireless communication systems using airship have been proposed in worldwide. The airship will be located at the stratosphere about $20{\sim}23\;km$ above the sea level. The position of airship will vary within the station keeping range with time due to the drag of the wind in the stratosphere. When the earth station antenna has a high gain without the tracking function, the antenna performance may be degraded by a small variation of the airship. This means that variation of airship location could result in serious degradation of the system performance. In this paper, degradation in earth station's Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) and Gain to noise Temperature ratio (G/T) due to the stratospheric platform movements has been derived by calculating the deviation angle of the main beam directions between the earth station and the platform antenna. In this case, the antenna of the earth station has been assumed circular and/or patch array antennas.

      • Analyzing the sharing conditions between HAPS ground stations and FSS receiver

        ITU-R 은 긴급사안으로 결의 122를 통하여 47.2-47.5 GHz 및 47.9-48.2 GHz 대역에서 HAPS 지구국이 우주국 수신기와의 공유를 원활하게 하기 위해서 적용 가능한 전력 제한치를 연구할 것을 요청하였다. 하지만 현재까지 이것과 관련된 연구는 진행되지 않은 상태이다. 이미 개발된 권고서 ITU-R SF.1481-1를 통하여 HAPS 를 이용한 FS 시스템과 FSS 시스템간의 공유 가능성을 분석하기 위한 방법과 시스템특성 파라미터가 제시되었으며, 위 주파수 대역에서 일반적인 HAPS 에 대한 시스템 특성에 관하여 권고서 ITU-RF.1500에 또한 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 결의 122 에 따라서 HAPS 지상국에 적용 가능한 전력 제한치에 대한 결과를 제시한다. 이미 권고서 ITU-R SF.1481-1 에 언급되었듯이 HAPS 지상국과 FSS 위성시스템간의 공유를 위해서는 충분한 이격거리가 필요하다. FSS 위성수신기로의 이러한 간섭레벨을 줄이기 위해서 HAPS 지상국의 전력 감소와 낮은 부엽레벨을 갖는 안테나 빔패턴의 적용을 고려하여 분석된 공유조건 결과들의 예들을 제시한다. Under Resolution 122 (Rev. WRC-03), ITU-R is invited to study, as a matter of urgency, power limitations applicable for HAPS ground stations to facilitate sharing with space station receivers in the bands 47.2-47.5 GHz and 47.9-48.2 GHz. However, there have been no studies on this issue. Recommendation ITU-R SF. 1481-1, which was developed during past study period, provides methodology and system characteristics for analyzing the sharing feasibility between systems in the FS using HAPS and systems in the FSS. System characteristics for a typical HAPS in the bands above are also given in Recommendation ITU-R F. 1500. This paper provides the results on power limitations applicable for HAPS ground stations in accordance with Resolution 122 (Rev. WRC-03). As already shown in Recommendation ITU-R SF.1481-1, the results show that a sufficient separation distance is required for sharing between HAPS ground stations and FSS satellite systems. We obtain some examples of the sharing conditions considering reducing the power level of HAPS ground stations and using the antenna beam pattern with the low sidelobe to decrease the interference level affecting FSS satellite receiver.

        셀룰로오스와 금/은 나노입자 기반의 광 흡수체를 이용한 태양광 수증기 발생

        물의 국소 및 계면 가열을 특징으로 하는 새로운 유형의 고효율 태양광-수증기 발생 장치는 기존의 태양에너지 이용 해수담수화기술의 저효율 한계를 극복하는 효과적인 방법으로 주목받고 있다. 본 연구에서 우리는 세 가지 주요 구성 요소들을 포함한 효과적인 태양광-수증기 발생 광흡수체(CMNF-NP)를 고안하였다. 광열 변환 재료인 Au/Ag 나노입자와 나노입자 고정 및 친수성 특성을 가진 셀룰로오스 나노 섬유(CNF) 및 기계적 강도를 향상시키기 위한 보강제로서 셀룰로오스 마이크로 섬유(CMF)를 사용하였다. CNF에 5.17 wt%의 CMF가 첨가된 CMNF는 CNF에 비하여 인장강도가 2.9배 향상된 반면 광학 투명도는 2% 저하되었다. CMNF 지지체를 기반으로 합성한 광 흡수체인 CMNF-NP의 경우 CMF 첨가에 따라 증기발생 효율은 2.3% 저하되었지만 향상된 기계적 강도로 인해 태양광-수증기 발생장치에 활용하는데 있어서 실용성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 본다. A new type of solar-driven steam generation (SDSG) for desalination and water purification, characterized by local and interfacial heating of water using nanostructured light absorbers, has recently drawn great attention, which overcomes the limitation of low efficiency of conventional SDSG, a bulk water heating system. Here we devise the cellulose micro/nanofiber and Au/Ag nanoparticle light absorber (CMNF-NP) for SDSG, which is composed of Au/Ag nanoparticles as the photothermal material, cellulose nanofiber (CNF) as the main substrate for immobilization of nanoparticles, and cellulose microfiber (CMF) as the fillers for enhancing mechanical property. For the substrate, the addition of 5.17 wt% of CMF in CNF (CMNF) enhanced tensile strength by 2.9 times and reduced optical transparency by 2%. Although the steam generation efficiency of CMNF-NP was reduced by 2.3% by the addition of CMF, the trade-off is worth to make considering the application of this light absorber into practical SDSG system.
