Transcriptional Profiling and Dynamical Regulation Analysis Identify Potential Kernel Target Genes of SCYL1-BP1 in HEK293T Cells

Wang, Yang,Chen, Xiaomei,Chen, Xiaojing,Chen, Qilong,Huo, Keke Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2014 Molecules and cells Vol.37 No.9

SCYL1-BP1 is thought to function in the p53 pathway through Mdm2 and hPirh2, and mutations in SCYL1-BP1 are associated with premature aging syndromes such as Geroderma Osteodysplasticum; however, these mechanisms are unclear. Here, we report significant alterations in miRNA expression levels when SCYL1-BP1 expression was inhibited by RNA interference in HEK293T cells. We functionally characterized the effects of potential kernel miRNA-target genes by miRNA-target network and protein-protein interaction network analysis. Importantly, we showed the diminished SCYL1-BP1 dramatically reduced the expression levels of EEA1, BMPR2 and BRCA2 in HEK293T cells. Thus, we infer that SCYL1-BP1 plays a critical function in HEK293T cell development and directly regulates miRNA-target genes, including, but not limited to, EEA1, BMPR2, and BRCA2, suggesting a new strategy for investigating the molecular mechanism of SCYL1-BP1.

A Vegetable Dietary Pattern Is Associated with Lowered Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Chinese Women

        Qiong Chen,Weiwei Wu,Hailan Yang,Ping Zhang,Yongliang Feng,Keke Wang,Ying Wang,Suping Wang,Yawei Zhang 대한당뇨병학회 2020 Diabetes and Metabolism Journal Vol.44 No.6

Background Identification of modifiable dietary factors, which are involved in the development of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), could inform strategies to prevent GDM. Methods We examined the dietary patterns in a Chinese population and evaluated their relationship with GDM risk using a case-control study including 1,464 cases and 8,092 control subjects. Propensity score matching was used to reduce the imbalance of covariates between cases and controls. Dietary patterns were identified using factor analysis while their associations with GDM risk were evaluated using logistic regression models. Results A “vegetable” dietary pattern was characterized as the consumption of green leafy vegetables (Chinese little greens and bean seedling), other vegetables (cabbages, carrots, tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes, mushrooms, peppers, bamboo shoots, agarics, and garlic), and bean products (soybean milk, tofu, kidney beans, and cowpea). For every quartile increase in the vegetables factor score during 1 year prior to conception, the first trimester, and the second trimester of pregnancy, the GDM risk lowered by 6% (odds ratio [OR], 0.94; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.89 to 0.99), 7% (OR, 0.94; 95% CI, 0.88 to 0.99), and 9% (OR, 0.91; 95% CI, 0.86 to 0.96). Conclusion In conclusion, our study suggests that the vegetable dietary pattern is associated with lower GDM risk; however, the interpretation of the result should with caution due to the limitations in our study, and additional studies are necessary to explore the underlying mechanism of this relationship.

Synthesis of novel Brønsted–Lewis acidic ionic liquid catalysts and their catalytic activities in acetalization

        Yan Wei,Han Xiaoxiang,Chen Keke,Zhang Xiaofang,Kuang Yingying,Tang Xiujuan 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.29 No.-

Ionic liquid catalysts which combine the characters of the Brønsted–Lewis solid acids and the ionic liquidare prepared. The obtained composite materials were well characterized by FT-IR, TGA, 1H NMR, 13CNMR and investigated their performance for acetalization. The acid strength was determined by theHammett method combined with UV–vis spectroscopy. Response surface methodology (RSM) wasapplied to optimize the synthesis of benzaldehyde glycol acetal and the effects of various reactionconditions. A Box–Behnken experimental Design (BBD) was employed to search for the optimal yield. The kinetic study for the acetalization was performed under the optimum operating conditions

Visible light induced g-C3N4/TiO2/Ti3C2 ternary Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst for efficient degradation

        Menghao Luo,Hange Feng,Yuechuan Hu,Keke Chen,Zibo Dong,Shaolin Xue 대한금속·재료학회 2023 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.19 No.1

Photocatalytic degradation has received considerable emphasis since it shows signifi cant possibilities in environmentalpollution. In this work, ternary Z-scheme heterojunction g-C 3 N 4 /TiO 2 /Ti 3 C 2 photocatalysts are designed and fabricated. The Z-scheme heterojunctions formed on the surfaces of g-C 3 N 4 and TiO 2 dramatically modify the photocatalyticperformances of the compound under illumination. Meanwhile, in this process, multilayer Ti 3 C 2 , as the transport mediumof Z-scheme heterojunction, is tightly bonded to TiO 2 generated by hydrothermal oxidation and g-C 3 N 4 with large specifi csurface area, which eff ectively facilitates the space charge separation and depresses the charge recombination. When theaddition amount of TiO 2 /Ti 3 C 2 is 80 mg and calcined at 450 ℃ for 4 h, g-C 3 N 4 /TiO 2 /Ti 3 C 2 has the greatest photocatalyticperformance, and the kinetic constant for degradation methyl orange (MO) was about 3.62 times that of g-C 3 N 4 and 14.55times that of Ti 3 C 2 , respectively. This work illustrates that g-C 3 N 4 /TiO 2 /Ti 3 C 2 has outstanding potential and off ers novelinsights for designing and synthesizing new ternary heterojunction materials.

Energy-based damage-control design of steel frames with steel slit walls

Ke Ke,Yiyi Chen 국제구조공학회 2014 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.52 No.6

The objective of this research is to develop a practical design and assessment approach of steel frames with steel slit walls (SSWs) that focuses on the damage-control behavior to enhance the structural resilience. The yielding sequence of SSWs and frame components is found to be a critical issue for thedamage-control behavior and the design of systems. The design concept is validated by the full-scale experiments presented in this paper. Based on a modified energy-balance model, a procedure for designing and assessing the system motivated by the framework regarding the equilibrium of the energy demand and the energy capacity is proposed. The damage-control spectra constructed by strength reduction factors calculated from single-degree-of-freedom systems considering the post stiffness are addressed. A quantitative damage-control index to evaluate the system is also derived. The applicability of the proposedapproach is validated by the evaluation of example structures with nonlinear dynamic analyses. The observations regarding the structural response and the prediction during selected ground motions demonstrate that the proposed approach can be applied to damage-control design and assessment of systemswith satisfactory accuracy.
