(E)-β-Farnesene, the alarm pheromone of aphids was synthesized from nerolidol by reacting in a sealed tube at 150℃ for 24h with DMSO. Base(KOtBu/DMSO) catalized elimination of HCl from farnesyl chloride at 50℃ for 4h afforded (E)-β-farnesene as the major product. Farnesyl chloride was prepared from nerolidol or farnesol with SOCl_2 or HCl. Biological activity test of (E)-β-farnesene thus synthesized was conducted.

(Z)-13-Eicosen-10-one, an active component of the sex pheromone of the peach fruit moth was synthesized from 4-oxo-tridecan-1-al and heptylidenetriphenylphosphonium ylide by Wittig reaction. The key intermediate, 4-oxo-tridecan-1-al, was synthesized by three different methods. The biological activity test of the synthetic pheromone as attractant for the male peach fruit moth was tested at several districts in Korea.

(Z)-13-Octadecen-1-yl acetate, the pheromone mimic of the Rice Leaf Folder Moth, Cnaphalocrosis medinalis, was synthesized from 1,13-tridecanediol in three steps. Monoacetylation of 1,13-tridecanediol followed by PCC oxidation gave 13-acetoxytridecan-1-al. Wittig olefination of the 13-acetoxytridecan-1-al with pentylidenetriphenylphosphonium ylide afforded (Z)-13-octadecen-1-yl acetate, the pheromone mimic of the Rice Leaf Folder.

Vegetation sampling and sticky trapping were conducted to investigate overwintering thrips species and their vernal activities, respectively, in winter-spring seasons on Jeju island, Korea, from 1994 to 1996. In addition to Thrips palmi Karny, which was reported overwintering on Jeju island by Lee et al. (2001), twelve thrips species belonging to the family Thripidae were found on vegetation during the winter season. Among them, eight species including economically important thrips, Frankliniella intonsa(Trybom), F. occidentalis (Pergande), and T. tabaci Lindeman were found to overwinter on vegetation in the island. Scitothrips dorsalis Hood, however, is uncertatin whether or not it can overwinter on vegetation. Vernal activities of thrips observed by sticky trapping were different among species. All thrips, except for T. palmi, were caught after mid April, and F. intonsa and S. dorsalis were earlier than F. occidentalis and T. tabaci.
홈네트워크를 위한 전력선 통신을 이용한 장치 제어 및 UPnP 미들웨어 구현

본 논문은 홈 네트워크 구축에 있어서 저속의 PLC(Power Line Communication) 통신기술을 활용하여 지능형 홈 네트워크 시스템을 구축하였으며, UPnP 브릿지를 통하여 TCP/IP 기반의 원격 제어 및 모니터링 시스템을 설계하였다. 또한, 지능형 홈 네트워크 내부의 제어 모듈에 대한 통신은 저속 저력선 기반의 SCP( Simple Control Protocol)을 설계하여 각 장치들 사이를 연결하여 제어 할 수 있도록 구현 하였다. PLC 기반의 지능형 홈 네트워크 내부에 새로운 UPnP 장치가 연결 되었을 때는 등록된 UPnP 장치의 정보에 따라 UPnP 브릿지를 통하여 장치를 모니터링 하도록 기능을 구현하였다. 전력선 통신 기반의 장치 제어 및 각 장치에 대한 UPnP 장치로의 구현은 TCP/IP 기반의 원격 제어 및 장치 관리가 효율적이며, 홈 네트워크상의 다양한 장치에 대한 장치 정보를 쉽게 모니터링 하고 관리할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. This paper proposes the construction of intelligent home network system using Power Line Communication(PLC) technique, which allows for UPnP bridge remote control and monitoring based on TCP/IP. Also, the communication for control module inside intelligent home network systems is designed with Simple Control Protocol (SCP) in which each device is connected to be controlled independently. When new UPnP device is additionally installed in intelligent home network systems, it is monitored through UPnP bridges based on its registered UPnP device information. The device control based on PLC and implementation of each UPnP device are effectively managed by using TCP/IP remote control and it's provided fundamental functions to monitor various device information in the home network.
