        In this paper, we propose a new neural pattern recognition from wavelet transform. We first analysis in BFT(Binary Field Transform) in character image. The proposed neural network and wavelet transform is able to improve learning time and scaling. The ability and effectiveness of identifying image using the proposed wavelet transform will be demonstrated by computer simulation.

        The switched reluctance motor(SRM) has a simple rotor construction with no windings. It also has simple concentrated windings on the stator. Thus, it is expected to be a lower cost machine to manufacture than the squirrel cage induction motor. This paper presents an advanced rotor structure type, well-round rotor type in SRM. To design the improved SRM we have used FEM and studied and compared with each other. The static torque, instantaneous torque and average torque are more improved than that of typical rotor type which has been a lot of used for SRM.

        Subsurface stresses of workpiece indented by a rotating abrasive in lapping processes are analyzed using two dimensional finite element technique. The workpiece is assumed as an elastoplastic half-space, the abrasive as a rigid rectangular bar, and the lap as a rigid half-space. The stresses in the case of indentation is also analyzed to examine the effects of tangential traction. It is demonstrated that an approximately circular plastically-deformed region is evolved below the contact point and that a local maximum of tensile principal stress occurs at the intersection between the boundary of plastically-deformed region and the extension of diagonal line of abrasive. Moreover, the local maximum value occurring in a loading period is greater than that in the residual stresses, implying that subsurface cracks can be nucleated in the loading period.

        Stress around the edge of penny-shaped lateral crack in the residual stress fields in elastic perfectly-plastic half-spaces indented by a rigid cone are analyzed using finite element technique. The stresses are characterized and interpreted to investigate the crack growth behavior with the aid of linear elastic fracture mechanics. The influence of material properties on the crack growth behavior is also examined. Continuing growth of the crack after removal of indentation load is explained based on the variation of crack growth driving force with crack size. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the change in the crack propagation direction with the growth is due to the change in the crack growth mechanism.

      • 衣巖湖의 貝類에 關한 硏究 : A study on the gonadal tissues and demibranchs of Corbicula fluminea(Palaeoheterodonta: Corbiculidae)

        의암호에 서식하는 재철(Corbicula fluminea)을 실험재로로 하여 생식세포형성, hermaphrodite에 의한 성비의 계정성 그리고 이에 따른 반새의 변화와 정확한 산란시기를 밝히고자 조직학적 방법에 의한 견구 조사를 실시하였다. 총 118개의 개체중 female 32개체(27.1%), female-hermaphrodite 75개체(63.5%)hermaphrodite 32개체(2.5%), male-hermaphrodite 7개체(5.9%), male 1개체(0.4%)로 전체적으로 female의 경향이 높았다. 산란은 2월과 3월에 난을 방출하는 난생의 형태이고 7월이후 11월까지 glochidia를 방출하는 난태생의 형태를 나타내었다. 外半?(outer-demibranch)가 보육낭으로 이용될 수도 있으나 內半?(inner-demibranch)가 주로 보육나으로 작용하였다. 수관 분리는 주로 inner-demibranch에서 나타났고, 산란시기에는 많은 개체가 수관이 분리되어 있었다. Corbicula fluminaea, one of two species in the family Corbiculidae living in the Lake Uiam was used as an experimental material. This research was done in order to deon in order to identify and describe the visceral sex. the demibranch morthology, and the seasonal gonad activity. The sexuality of C. fluminea was male, male-hermaphrodite (with a preponderance of testicular tissue over ovarian tissue), hermaphrodite (with approximately equal amount of male and female ponadal tissue), female-hermaphrodite (with a preponderance of the ovarian tissue), and female. The non-marsupial demibranch (namely, outer 2 in females and female-hermaphrodite, two in males and males and male-hermaphrodites) was divided by the secondary sept that in males and male-hermaphrodites) was divided by the secondary septa that produced secondary watertubes, resulting in triparitite organization. But, the outerdemibranch of all kinds has exhibited feebly the triparitite organization. In this species larvae were produced over two extended time periods, one in spring(oviparity) and one in fall (dvoviviparity).

      • A case of primary cutaneous undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the right eyelid

        Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS) is a moderately aggressive rare sarcoma capable of invading soft tissue, skeletal, and retroperitoneal structures. UPS is one of the most common soft tissue sarcoma of adult in Korea, but primary cutaneous form is much less common. However, UPS is difficult to distinguish from atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) because of that share a nonspecific clinical appearance and exhibit similar pleomorphic spindle cell morphology. Herein, we report the case of a 91-year-old Korean woman patient who presented with 3.4cm sized reddish crusted protruding tumor on the right lateral upper eyelid. Histopathology showed storiformarranged cellular infiltrate of pleomorphic spindle and polygonal cells with frequent atypical mitoses. Immunohistochemically, the lesion were positive for vimentin, CD68, smooth muscle actin, p53 and Ki-67 (>50%). According to the previous finding, wide excision was undertaken. Consequently, a diagnosis of UPS wasmade on the basis of the clinical and pathologic findings, with demonstrating infiltration of muscles. The patient visits our clinic for periodic follow-up exams and imaging studies following radiation therapy.

        <P>Transforming growth factor-관-induced gene product-h3 (TGFBI/BIGH3) is an extracellular matrix protein expressed in a wide variety of tissues. TGFBI binds to type I, II, and IV collagens, as well as to biglycan and decorin and plays important roles in cell-to-cell, cell-to-collagen, and cell-to-matrix interactions. Furthermore, TGFBI is involved in cell growth and migration, tumorigenesis, wound healing, and apoptosis. To investigate whether TGFBI is involved in the maintenance of skeletal tissues, Tgfbi knockout mice were generated by crossing male and female Tgfbi heterozygous mice. Skeletal preparation showed that the skeletal size in Tgfbi knockout mice was smaller than in wild-type and heterozygous mice. However, chondrocytic cell alignment in the growth plates, bone mineral density, and bone forming rates were similar in Tgfbi knockout, wild-type, and heterozygous mice. Alterations in skeletal tissue arrangements in Tgfbi knockout mice were estimated from safranin O staining, trichrome staining, and immunohistochemistry for type II and X collagen, and matrix metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13). Cartilage matrix degradation was observed in the articular cartilage of Tgfbi knockout mice. Although the detection of type II collagen in the articular cartilage was lower in Tgfbi knockout mice than wild-type mice, the detection of MMP13 was markedly higher, indicating that Tgfbi deficiency is associated with the degradation of cartilage matrix. These results suggest that TGFBI plays an important role in maintaining skeletal tissues and the cartilage matrix in mice.</P>

        A novel method of ligand peptidomics to identify peptide ligands binding to AQP2-expressing plasma membranes and intracellular vesicles of rat kidney

        <P>Aquaporin-2 (AQP2), the vasopressin-regulated water channel in collecting duct principal cells, plays a key role in the regulation of body water balance. We aimed to isolate high-affinity peptide ligands that bind to immunoisolated AQP2-expressing plasma membrane (PM) or intracellular vesicle (ICV) preparations from rat kidney by the in vitro phage display technique. Immunoblotting revealed that AQP2 was exclusively expressed in the immunoisolated AQP2 membrane fractions (PM and ICV), compared with the nonimmunoisolated or preimmune IgG pulldown rat kidney samples. Moreover, AQP1 or H<SUP>+</SUP>-ATPase (B1 subunit) expression was minimal in the immunoisolated AQP2 membrane fractions, indicating the specificity of AQP2 membrane isolation. A phage peptide library based on T7 415-1b phage vector displaying CX7C was constructed. After three rounds of biopanning, seven phage clones of high frequency were selected, which showed high affinity to the AQP2-containing PM or ICV fractions compared with a nonrecombinant T7 insertless phage clone. In contrast, these phage clones showed lower affinity to H<SUP>+</SUP>-ATPase-containing fractions. Fluorescein-conjugated peptide labeling was associated with intracellular compartment and PM of primary cultured inner medullary collecting duct cells, relative to absent or very weak labeling with fluorescein-conjugated control peptide. Library analyses demonstrated proteins that had motifs homologous to the peptide ligands, albeit with a high probability of a random match due to short peptide sequences. In summary, we applied the in vitro phage display technique to identify high-affinity peptide ligands to AQP2-expressing membranes. Library analyses identified proteins having homologous motifs, which need to be examined for involvement in AQP2 trafficking and regulation.</P>

        Provable Secure Brand-new Multi-auction Mechanism with Dynamic Identity

        Different from traditional auctions, electronic auctions provide a platform to allow bidders and auctioneers merchandise to each other over network anytime and anywhere. Auctioneers can publish information of goods, and bidders can choose the interested targets through this bidding platform. To ensure the fairness and security of electronic auctions, Li et al. have proposed a practical electronic auction scheme which can confirm the requirement of strong anonymity, bidding privacy, and secret bidding price. However, we have found out that Li et al.'s scheme may lurk the risk of the denial-of-service attack during the bidding phase in a sealed-bid auction. Thus, we propose a brand-new sealed-bid auction mechanism, in which the essentials of e-auction can be firmly preserved. In particular, each bidder only needs to register at the center once and then can join to multiple plays launched by different auctioneers. Moreover, the correctness of mutual authentication is confirmed according to the BAN logic model.
