This paper presents an interface configuration between AP(Access Point) and ROF(Radio Over Fiber Transceiver) for the wireless internet system. The wireless internet could provides 60km/h mobility and 50Mbps IP based data services for each mobile terminal. Thus, cost effective cell infrastructure is inevitably required. This paper suggests the interface between AP and ROF transceivers. In addition, ROF link characteristics are described and measured for wireless internet applications.

In our country, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs adopted the WHO standard from December 1993. However, the standards have not been monitored carefully throughout the province and there is little research on the effects of aluminum on people's health and management of cleaning bed. In this research, we measured Al in raw and treated water of major cleaning beds of chonbuk province and got the situation of contamination. The results are summarized as follows; 1. The range of the aluminum concentration in row water is from ND(non-detected) to 0.08㎎/ℓ, to average is 0.03㎎/ℓ, and it is the highest figure at 0.08㎎/ℓ in Wal-Iock bed of Nam-Won district. 2. The major concentration extent from ND to 0.009㎎/ℓ, ranks 35% and its average is 0.07㎎/ℓ. 3. When we analyzed the aluminum concentration over the passage of time, we found a lot of A1 in samples that were taken from P.M 10 to A.M.I. 4. There are no samples exceed 0.2㎎/ℓ which is the drinking water standard of WHO. 5. It is revealed that the average concentration is 0.15㎎/ℓ in big cities whose population supplied water is more than 500,000. 6. Investigating the effect on the coagulant, we knew the factors that the residual Al concentration. In the place where no coagulant was used Al concentration is 0.04㎎/ℓ on the average. The ones using the aluminum sulfate and activated carbon is 0.09㎎/ℓ on average. So the one using Al_2(SO_4)_3 is 0.11㎎/ℓ on average. 7. The concentration fluctuate with the seasons : Jenuary is 4 times as much as July. 8. It is also connected with the other water pollution the consumption of KmnO_4, NO_3-N, SO_4^2- ect.

To determine the recovery time from noise-induced temporary threshold shift(TTS), a prospective field study was conducted at three worksites where workers are known to be exposed high level of noise. Subjects were selected according to answers on a questionnaire which inquired about otological history and previous noise exposure, including avocational, military and occupational exposures. After excluding employee with past otologic problems, recent exposure to high level noise, and under medications, total 92 employees participated in the study. Among 92 participants, complete consecutive audiometric examinations were carried out at 0∼2 hours, 5∼7 hours, 14∼16 hours after worktime noise exposure on 26 participants wearing hearing protectors and 22 participants wearing no protective devices. The difference between the hearing level 0∼2 hours after noise exposure and 5∼7 hours is statistically significant by paired t-test(p<0.01). The median recovery times calculated from the data of 22 participants wearing no protective hearing devices are 15.6 hours at 4000Hz, and 7.7 hours, 10.3 hours, 8.4 hours at 1000Hz, 2000Hz and 8000Hz respectively. These data suggest that when measuring the pure tone audiometry for noise exposed workers, at least 16 hours noise-free interval is required.
Microwave Photonic MQW Asymmetric FP Modulators for The Next Generation Mobile Communications

본 논문은 차세대 광대T역 이동통신 응용을 위한 새로운 구조와 고성능을 갖는 InGaAsP MQW 비대칭 FP변조기를 소개하고저 하며 솔리톤 전송을 위한Microwave Photonic 소자는 3GHz의 동작대역을 갖으며 이동통신응용을 위한 air-bridged 소자는 10 GHz의 고속동작 대역을 갖으며 이들의 측정 결과와 시스템 시험결과를 보였다. 본 AFPM은 동작전력이 적으며 저손실, 고선형성 특성을 갖으며 광섬유와 쉽게 배열될 수 있는 장점을 갖는다. This paper presents the development of InGaAsP multiple quantum well asymmetric Fabry-Perot modulator (AFPM), which have a new structure and high performance and describes measurements of devices operating at 3 GHz for soliton applications and at 10GHz for the next generation mobile communications. Advantages of the AFPM include low drive voltage and loss, high linearity and simple fibre alignment.
QCSE Tuning Characteristics of Quaternary InGaAsP MQW

This paper describes quantum confined Stark effect(QCSE) tuning characteristics of InGaAsP multiple quantum well(MQW). The result of QCSE static tuning was 125%/V and the speed of wavelength conversion, which is one of dynamic tuning characteristics, due to QCSE was faster than 1 nS. The results show a possible 1550nm multiple channel source using quaternary/quaternary MQW InGaAsP/InP QCSE tuning for dense wavelength division multiplex(DWDM) systems and 140 GHz channel spacing and 32 nm channel selection bandwidth

In this paper, we report measurement of absorption coefficient for various InGaAs MQW QCSE device structures. The absorption spectra over a range of QCSE were obtained from measured photocurrent spectra. The refractive index changes with applied electric field were calculated from the absorption spectra.

This paper describes a 1550 nm multichannel source using Quatemary/quatemary multiple quantum well (MQW) InGaAsP/InGaAsP quantum confined Stark effect (QCSE) tuning for dense wavelength division multiplex (DWDM) systems with 140 ㎓ channel spacing and 32 nm channel selection bandwidth.
