        A Study on the Trend of the Prevalence of Patients with Rotary cuff Syndrome, Adhesive Capsulitis, and Multiple Shoulder Diseases

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of rotator cuff syndrome and adhesive capsulitis, which are common shoulder diseases, and use them as basic data for the development of prevention and exercise treatment programs. The subjects of the study used data provided by the Health Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) for five years from 2018 to 2022 to investigate major shoulder diseases (adhesive capsulitis, rotator cuff syndrome, bicipital tendinitis, calcific tendinitis, impingement syndrome, bursitis of shoulder, other shoulder lesions, shoulder lesions unspecified) in men and women aged 0 to 80 years or older and analyze the prevalence of frequent shoulder diseases. As a result of the study, it was found that rotator cuff syndrome and adhesive capsulitis are multiple shoulder diseases, and the prevalence of both musculoskeletal diseases was higher in people aged 40 to 79 compared to other age groups, and the prevalence was higher in people in their 80s or older compared to the small population. Additionally, the prevalence rate was found to be higher in women compared to men. Finally, the prevalence of multiple shoulder diseases will be analyzed and used as data for exercise methods and program development for prevention and treatment.

      • A Study on Ground Acceleration Amplification Characteristics of Sea Dike according to the Seismic Wave Characteristics

        Earthquakes have become more frequent in South Korea of late, and the earthquake damage is clearly different depending on how to prepare for it, so there is a strong need to construct seismic infrastructures. As the seismic behavior of sea dike is very complicated, there is a dearth of actual cases of seismic behavior analysis and ground liquefaction evaluation. Damages like seismic ground displacement and liquefaction differ according to the seismic acceleration amplification characteristics. Thus, the ground acceleration amplification characteristics in the sea dike were analyzed according to the seismic waver characteristics (short cycle, long cycle, artificial seismic wave). To define the ground acceleration amplification characteristics according to the seismic wave characteristics, ground response analysis of the areas surrounding the sea dike was conducted, and 3D numerical analysis of the sea dike was conducted. Based on the ground investigation data, the representative ground cross-section and the ground parameters were set. Ground response analysis was conducted according to the input seismic waves, so as to analyze the ground acceleration amplification characteristics. 3D modeling was performed to analyze the earth-behaving sea dike. Dynamic analysis was conducted using the linear time history analysis method, and the displacement and ground acceleration were analyzed at the top of the sea dike. The findings of this study are expected to be used to evaluate the ground acceleration amplification characteristics and the possible liquefaction during earthquakes above the design earthquake level in sea dike, and to reduce the subsequent danger.

      • A Lightweight Authentication Mechanism for Acknowledgment in LR-WPAN Environment

        In IEEE 802.15.4 (Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network) specification, a successful reception and validation of a data or MAC command frame can be confirmed with an acknowledgment. However, the specification does not support security for acknowledgment frame; the lack of a MAC covering acknowledgments allows an adversary to forge an acknowledgment for any frame. This paper proposes an identity authentication mechanism at the link layer for acknowledgment frame in IEEE 802.15.4 network. With the proposed mechanism there is only three bits for authentication, which can greatly reduce overhead. The encrypted bit stream for identity authentication will be transmitted to device by coordinator within association process. Statistical method indicates that our mechanism is successful in handling MAC layer attack.

      • A Study on the Characteristics of Agricultural Reservoir Behavior during Earthquakes

        Most of the South Korean agricultural facilities are dilapidated due to old age. They are highly likely to be damaged in the event of natural disasters like extreme weather and earthquakes. If agricultural infrastructures lose their functions due to earthquakes, it may cause unexpected economic and industrial damage to the surrounding and downstream areas. Thus, to define the vulnerability of agricultural infrastructures for ensuring seismic reinforcement, there is a need to evaluate the seismic performance of reservoir embankments according to the seismic wave characteristics. The seismic performance evaluation of agricultural infrastructures was conducted using the time history analysis method of the three-dimensional dynamic analysis methods in analyzing the embankment displacement and its acceleration amplification characteristics in agricultural infrastructures according to the seismic wave characteristics. Ground acceleration amplification occurred as the ground above the reservoir embankments, and the maximum displacement was caused at the top of the embankment. To define the behavioral characteristics of reservoir embankments, dynamic centrifuge model tests were conducted to measure and analyze the earthquake response speed, displacement, and pore water pressure. In this study, the seismic performance of agricultural reservoir embankments was evaluated and the seismic behavioral characteristics of agricultural reservoir embankments were analyzed by seismic wave to analyze the vulnerable areas of the facilities and to secure data for seismic design and reinforcement. The findings of this study can be used to conduct a safety diagnosis of agricultural infrastructures, and to perform an emergency investigation of the first-priority target area following the occurrence of earthquakes.
