This paper deal with a method of detecting localized defects on taper roller bearing in main spindle of machine tool system. The statistical parameters in time-domain signal processing techniques have been calculated to extract useful features from bearing vibration signals. Emloying these features, the statiscical parameters have been established to detect defects on the rollers of bearings, respectively, and used by the input feature of an artificial neural nerwork. As a result that the proposed bearing defects monitoring system could be successfully performed by using the statistical parameters of acceleration signals.

This paper describes the development of variable stability system (VSS) control laws for the KFA-i to simulate the dynamics of KFA-m aircraft. The KFA-i is a single engine, Class IV aircraft and was selected as an in-flight simulator (IFS) aircraft, whereas the KFA-m is a simulated aircraft that is based on the F-16 aircraft. A 6-DoF math model of KFA-i aircraft was developed, linearized, and separated into longitudinal and lateral motion for VSS control law synthesis. The KFA-i aircraft has five primary control surfaces: two flaperons, two all movable horizontal tails, and one rudder. Flaperons are used for load control, the horizontal tails are used for pitch and roll rate control, and the rudder is used for yaw rate control. The developed VSS control law can simulate four parameters of the KFA-m aircraft simultaneously, such as pitch, roll, yaw rates, and load. The simulation results show that KFA-i follows the responses of KFA-m with high accuracy.

Embryo reconstruction by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) has been used to demonstrate that mammalian somatic cells can dedifferentiate into a totipotent nucleus when introduced into an oocyte. This process of dedifferentiation of somatic cells after nuclear transplantation is defined as nuclear reprogramming, although this terminology gives little information on the molecular events that characterize this process. When planning on strategies for nuclear reprogramming by nuclear transfer (NT) one may suggest that converting the somatic nuclear configuration into an embryonic state is highly desirable, so this may promote a succession of events similar to those occurring during early embryo development. In the following part of this overview we will discuss the results of many studies that have investigated different aspects of nuclear remodelling after SCNT.

Diffuse esophageal spasm (DES) is a typical motility disorder of the esophagus thats manifested by episodic chest pain and dysphagia. Visceral hypersensitivity is considered to be an important pathophysiological mechanism in the development of noncardiac chest pain, the same as for functional gastrointestinal disorders. Recent studies have revealed that descending facilitation from the rostral ventromedial medulla maintains visceral pain in a model of experimental pancreatitis. We report here on a 24-year old male who suffered from retrosternal chest pain and dysphagia, and this was aggravated after acute pancreatitis. The initial endoscopic examination revealed reflux esophagitis. After 11 months, esophageal manometry showed the typical findings of diffuse esophageal spasm, while the endoscopic examination and 24 hr pH metry failed to reveal acid reflux. We performed endoscopic botulinum toxin injection that resulted in relieving his symptoms along with improved results on the balloon provocation test. We present here a case of aggravated reflux-associated DES after acute pancreatitis, along with a review of the literature. (Kor J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2007;13:76-80)
