<P>We investigated different source/drain (S/D) electrode materials in thin-film transistors (TFTs) based on amorphous zinc-tin oxide (ZTO) semiconductors. The transfer length, channel conductance, and effective contact resistance between the S/D electrodes and the a-ZTO channel layer were examined. Total ON resistance (R(T)), transfer length (L(T)) and effective contact resistance (R(c-eff)) were extracted by the well-known transmission-line method (TLM) using a series of TFTs with different channel lengths. When the width of ZTO channel layer was fixed as 50 μm, the lengths were varying from 10 to 50 μm. The channel layer and S/D electrode were defined by lift-off process and for the S/D electrodes, indium-tin oxide (ITO), Cu, and Mo were used. The resistivity and work function values of electrode materials were considered when selected as candidates for S/D electrodes of ZTO-TFTs. The results showed that the ZTO-TFTs with Mo S/D electrodes had the lowest effective contact resistance indicating that ZTO-TFTs with Mo electrodes have better electrical performance compared to others.</P>

현재 대부분의 스팸 필터링은 개인용 PC 또는 서버와 같은 데스크탑 환경에서 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 언제 어디서나 인터넷 환경에 접속하는 유비쿼터스 시대에는 스팸 필터링 기능이 PDA나 휴대폰 같은 개인 이동형 단말기에서도 서비스가 이루어져야 하므로, PC와 PDA를 연동한 텍스트 기반 스팸 메일 필터링 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 스팸 메일을 구분하기 위한 정보를 두 가지로 구분하여 사용하는데, 메일 송신자의 정보와 명확한 스팸 키워드 리스트를 확실한 정보군으로 구분하여 먼저 적용하고, 이보다 덜 명확한 정보들은 따로 구분하여 속성벡터를 만들어 SVM 알고리즘을 적용하는 2단계 스팸 필터링 방식을 적용하였다. 실험결과 PDA 연동 시스템은 데스크탑 시스템과 동일한 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

EGR technology is widely used to reduce NOx emission generated from small diesel engines owing to simple structure and low cost compared with its benefits. NOx is sufficiently decreased by EGR, but simultaneously gives rise to the increment in PM and high fuel consumption due to the trade-off relationship of NOx and PM. Recently, it is being reported that cooled-EGR system with a cooler has the better effects on the decrement in NOx without the aggravation of fuel consumption and PM. However, the cooling of EGR temperature shows the increasing concentration of other harmful exhaust gases except NOx according to the operation conditions of engine. To resolve this problem, it is necessary to control EGR temperature for the more active reduction of NOx after considering the exhaust characteristic of PM and CO as well as NOx. In this study, the control attribution of EGR temperature and the output and exhaust properties with the change of EGR temperature and operation conditions is investigation in a HSDI (High Speed Direct Injection) diesel engine applied bypass EGR cooler system.
Collaborative Spam Mail Filtering between Desktop Machine and PDA

Currently most spam filters work on desktop environment such as client PC and server station. However an anti-spam service is also needed in personal devices including PDA and cellular phone in the ubiquitous age. Thus we will present a text based spam filtering approach cooperates involving with a PC and a PDA. We have classified text information in a mail into two kinds of information that can identify spam mails among all messages including non-spam or legitimate mails. The definite information is the mail sender’s information, URL, a certain spam keyword list, and the less definite information is the word list extracted from the mail body. We first classified the spam mail by using the definite information, and then used the less definite information contained in the email body for SVM learning in the next phase. According to the experimental results in this work, a PC and PDA collaborating spam filter showed the same performance as the standard desktop filter.

EGR is applied to diesel engines as the main measure to reduce NOx emissions. However, the application of EGR is also having a problems which we have to solve. In particular, EGR system has relation the trade-off between NOx and Soot emissions, especially at high loads.<br/> Reducing NOx and Soot emissions from diesel engine, and improving fuel consumption simultaneously are important in meeting government regulations and society's needs.<br/> In this study, the effects of Cooled EGR on the characteristics of NOx and Soot have been investigated using HSDI(High Speed Direct Injection) diesel engine operating at various loads and speeds.<br/>
Experimental Evaluation of Low-Voltage Offline Testing for Induction Motor Rotor Fault Diagnostics

<P>The offline single-phase rotor rotation test is frequently used in the field for assessing the integrity of the rotor cage without motor disassembly. However, the inconvenience of the large variable voltage supply requirement has triggered the advent of a portable low-voltage version of the test also known as the rotor influence check. This test has recently become common in the pulp and paper industry as it is convenient to use in an industrial environment. However, concerns on the reliability of the test have been raised due to frequent false test indications. The objective of this work is to provide an analysis and experimental evaluation of low-voltage rotor tests under controlled rotor fault conditions on 380-V and 6.6-kV motors. The results of the low-voltage test reveal that it cannot provide reliable diagnosis due to the low excitation flux level, particularly for motors with the closed rotor slot design. The single-phase rotation test and online current spectrum analysis are also performed under identical fault conditions to show that the fault conditions can be detected with standard tests.</P>
Monitoring Continuous k-Nearest Neighbor Queries using c-MBR

This paper addresses the problem of monitoring continuous k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) queries. Given a set of moving (or static) objects and a set of moving (or static) query points, monitoring continuous k-NN query retrieves and updates the closest k objects to a query point continually. In order to support location based services (LBSs) in highly dynamic environments, where objects and/or queries are frequently moving, monitoring continuous queries require real-time updated results when objects and/or queries change their locations. Thus, it is important to minimize time delay for maintaining up to date the results. In this paper, we present monitoring method to shorten time delay for updating continuous k-NN queries based on the notion of result region and the minimum bounding rectangle enclosing all objects in each cell, referred to as c-MBR, in the grid index structure. Simulations are conducted to show the efficiency of the proposed method.
