The purpose of this study is to understand current situation ofacupuncture and moxibustion for male infertility. Methods: We searched all relevant studies of male infertility patients treatedwith acupuncture and moxibustion. Electronic searches were conducted in Pubmed, the Cochrane Library, EMBASE and 4 Korean databases until October 2013. Results: A total of 10 reports were included in the review. Two case reports, one case series, three before and after studies, one cohort study, one non-randomizedcontrolled study and two randomized controlled studies were reviewed. Although themajority of studies suggested a positive effect of acupuncture on male infertility, the quality of studies was low. Data on adverse effects were lacking. Conclusions: We found a benefit from acupuncture for poor semen quality inmale infertility. These findings should be treated with caution as the evidence waslow or very low quality. To further evaluate the effects of acupuncture and moxibustionin male infertility, well-designed randomized controlled studies are needed.
적외선 체열 촬영을 이용한 안면홍조 진단의 절단값 산정

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find diagnostic points and define the cut off values of hot flashes by using digital infrared thermographic imaging. Methods: Thermographic images of 75 patients with hot flashes (HF, n=35) and non-hot flashes (NHF, n=40) were retrospectively reviewed. We used the temperature difference between Ex-HN3 and CV17, LU4, CV12, CV4 for diagnosing hot flashes. The temperature differences of between two groups were analysed using independent samples t-tests. The cut off values were calculated by received operating characteristic curve analysis. Analyses were undertaken using SPSS version 17.0. and p-value of <0.05 was considered significant. Results: The temperature difference Ex-HN3 and LU4 were the most significantly different between groups (p<0.001). Using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, the sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve were 65.7%, 72.5%, 0.729, respectively. The optimum cut off value was defined as 1.00℃. Conclusions: These results suggest that the digital infrared thermographic imaging is a reliable instrument for estimating hot flashes.
기상청 기후변화 시나리오에 따른 충주댐 유역 미래 PMP 산정

수퍼태풍급의 거대강우사상의 발생가능성이 높아지고 있으며, 이는 대규모 수공구조물의 설계 및 평가에 적용되는 가능최대 강수량(Probable Maximum Precipitation, PMP)의 산정에 기후변화의 영향이 고려되어야 한다는 것을 뜻한다. 본 연구에서는 충주댐 유역을 대상으로 기상청 기후변화 시나리오에 따른 미래 PMP를 산정하였다. 기상청에서 제공하는 미래 일 상대습도와 평균기온 자료를 이용하여 일 이슬점을 계산한 후, scale-invariance 기법을 이용하여 12시간 지속 100년 빈도 이슬점을 산출하여 미래 PMP 추정에 이용하였다. 충주댐 유역에 대한 미래 PMP를 분석한 결과, 2070년 기준으로 RCP 2.6에서도 미래 PMP는 15% 이상 증가할 가능성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. The possibility of mega rainfall events such as super typhoons in Korea is increasing and this means that the impact of climate change should be considered in the estimation procedure for the probable maximum precipitation (PMP) which should be applied to the design and evaluation of large hydraulic structures. In this study, future PMP in Chungjudam watershed under KMA climate change scenarios is analyzed. After computing future daily dew-point temperatures from daily relative humidities and average air temperatures provided by KMA, 12-hour duration 100-year dew-point temperatures which are used to estimate future PMP are calculated by using the Scale-Invariance technique. Results shows that future PMPs are very likely to increase more than 10% in 2070 even under RCP 2.6.
