Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Intestinal Fibrosis

        Wu Xiaomin,Lin Xiaoxuan,Tan Jinyu,Liu Zishan,He Jinshen,Hu Fan,Wang Yu,Chen Minhu,Liu Fen,Mao Ren 거트앤리버 소화기연관학회협의회 2023 Gut and Liver Vol.17 No.3

Intestinal fibrosis associated stricture is a common complication of inflammatory bowel disease usually requiring endoscopic or surgical intervention. Effective anti-fibrotic agents aiming to control or reverse intestinal fibrosis are still unavailable. Thus, clarifying the mechanism underpinning intestinal fibrosis is imperative. Fibrosis is characterized by an excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins at the injured sites. Multiple cellular types are implicated in fibrosis development. Among these cells, mesenchymal cells are major compartments that are activated and then enhance the production of ECM. Additionally, immune cells contribute to the persistent activation of mesenchymal cells and perpetuation of inflammation. Molecules are messengers of crosstalk between these cellular compartments. Although inflammation is necessary for fibrosis development, purely controlling intestinal inflammation cannot halt the development of fibrosis, suggesting that chronic inflammation is not the unique contributor to fibrogenesis. Several inflammation-independent mechanisms including gut microbiota, creeping fat, ECM interaction, and metabolic reprogramming are involved in the pathogenesis of fibrosis. In the past decades, substantial progress has been made in elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of intestinal fibrosis. Here, we summarized new discoveries and advances of cellular components and major molecular mediators that are associated with intestinal fibrosis, aiming to provide a basis for exploring effective anti-fibrotic therapies in this field.

Simple and Sensitive Electrochemical Sandwich-type Immunosensing of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin based on b-cyclodextrin Functionalized Graphene

        Linfen Xu,Ling liu,Xiaoyan Zhao,Jinyu Lin,Shaohan Xu,Jinlian He,Debin Jiang,Yong Xia The Korean Electrochemical Society 2023 Journal of electrochemical science and technology Vol.14 No.1

The effective detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is considerably important for the clinical diagnosis of both of early pregnancy and nonpregnancy-related diseases. In this work, a simple and sensitive electrochemical sandwich-type immunosensing platform was designed by synthesizing b-cyclodextrin (CD) functionalized graphene (CD/GN) hybrid as simultaneously sensing platform and signal transducer coupled with rhodamine b (RhB) as probe. In brief, GN offers large surface area and high conductivity, while CD exhibits superior host-guest recognition capability, thus the primary antibody (Ab1) of HCG can be bound into the cavities of CD/GN to form stable Ab1/CD/GN inclusion complex; meanwhile, the secondary antibody (Ab2) and RhB can also enter into the cavities, producing RhB/Ab2/CD/GN complex. Then, by using Ab1/CD/GN as sensing platform and RhB/Ab2/CD/GN as signal transducer (in which RhB was signal probe), a simple sandwich-type immunosensor was constructed. Under the optimum parameters, the designed immunosensor exhibited a considerable low analytical detection of 1.0 pg mL-1 and a wide linearity of 0.002 to 10.0 ng mL-1 for HCG, revealing the developed sandwich-type electrochemical immunosensing platform offered potential real applications for the determination of HCG.

      • Active current-limiting control to handle DC line fault of overhead DC grid

        MENG Zhou,WANG Xiang,WENPING Zuo,WEIXING Lin,JINYU Wen,RUIZHANG Yang,BINYE Ni,XIAOJUN Lu 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5

To handle with the DC line faults in a DC grid, this paper proposed an active current-limiting controller for hybrid MMC. With this active current-limiting control strategy, the requirement of interruption current of DCCB will be significantly decreased, and the investment of DC grid will be reduced obviously. Firstly, the control architecture of active current-limiting controller is disclosed. To avoid the overvoltage of submodule capacitors during DC fault, a dynamic limiter for the reference value of the DC current controller is proposed. To decrease the peak of fault current, the feedforward controller of DC voltage is put forward. The decoupling controllability of the AC/DC voltage of hybrid MMC is disclosed. The currentlimiting mechanism of the active current-limiting controller is analysis. Then, the validity of the active current-limiting control strategy is verified by RTDS.
