Eigenvalue Analysis of Overhang Structures by Pseudospectral Method
Lee, Jinhee Research Institute of Science and Technology HONGI 2005 Hongik Journal of Science and Technology Vol.9 No.-
The pseudospectral method is applied to the free vibration analysis of overhang structures which consist of Timoshenko beams. The analysis is based on the Chebyshev polynomials. Each section of the overhang structure has its own basis functions, and the continuity conditions at the intermediate support as well as the boundary conditions are treated separately as the constraints of the basis functions. Natural frequencies of overhang structures with pinned-pinned-free support conditions are provided for different thickness-to-length ratios and for different span ratios. The computed natural frequencies agree with those of Euler-Bernoulli beams when the thickness-to-length ratio is small but deviate considerably as the thickness-to-length ratio grows larger.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different types of exercise training on neurodegeneration and cognitive function in mice with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Thirty-six male C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned to the control (CO, n = 9) and impaired glucose tolerance (IGT, n = 27) groups. The IGT group consumed 45% high fat diet for 4 weeks and received 40 mg/kg of streptozotocin twice in the lower abdomen to induce IGT. After the IGT induction period, the IGT group was subdivided into IGT + sedentary (IGT, n = 9), IGT + endurance exercise (IGTE, n = 9), and IGT + resistance exercise (IGTR, n = 9). The IGTE and IGTR groups performed treadmill and ladder climbing exercises 5 times per week for 8 weeks, respectively. Fasting glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels were significantly higher in IGT group than in CO, IGTE, and IGTR groups ( p < 0.05). HOMA-IR was significantly higher in IGT group than CO group ( p < 0.05). Hippocampal catalase (CAT) was significantly lower in IGT group than in CO group ( p < 0.05), while beta-amyloid (Aβ) was significantly higher in IGT group than in CO group ( p < 0.05). Hippocampal tau was significantly higher in IGT group than in CO, IGTE, and IGTR groups ( p < 0.05). The Y-maze test performance for cognitive function was significantly lower in IGT group than in CO, IGTE, and IGTR groups ( p <0.05). These results suggest that IGT induces neurodegeneration and negatively affects cognitive function, while regular exercise may be effective in alleviating neurodegeneration and cognitive decline regardless of exercise type.

Optimized Current of the Peaking Amplifier for Two-Stage Doherty Power Amplifier
Lee, Hwiseob,Kwon, Jinhee,Lim, Wonseob,Lee, Wooseok,Kang, Hyunuk,Hwang, Keum Cheol,Lee, Kang-Yoon,Park, Cheon-seok,Yang, Youngoo Professional Technical Group on Microwace Theory a 2017 IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniqu Vol. No.
<P>This paper presents a method of improving efficiency for the two-stage Doherty power amplifier (DPA) using the optimized current of the peaking amplifier. The DPA has a two-stage structure for both the carrier and peaking amplifiers. The first stage of the peaking amplifier has an adjusted bias condition for a near Class-B operation, while the first stage of the carrier amplifier has a higher Class-AB operation. The gain expansion of the first stage due to its lower gate bias helps the second stage of the peaking amplifier to be biased for light Class-C operation and to have steeper turn-ON characteristics, which leads higher peak output power and higher back-off efficiency. The two-stage DPA was designed for the 2.655-GHz band. Using a downlink long-term evolution signal with a signal bandwidth of 10 MHz and a peak-to-average power ratio of 6.5 dB, the overall power gain of 25 dB and a peak output power of 54.2 dBm are experimentally obtained. Using an optimized shape of the peaking amplifier's current, a drain efficiency (DE) of 53% and an adjacent channel leakage power ratio of -30 dBc were obtained at an average output power of 47.8 dBm. A DE of 56.8% and an adjacent channel leakage power ratio of -25 dBc were also obtained at an average output power of 49.5 dBm.</P>
Development and Biological Evaluation of Potent and Selective c-KITD816V Inhibitors
Lee, Soyoung,Lee, Hyunseung,Kim, Jinhee,Lee, Suhyun,Kim, Soo Jung,Choi, Byong-Seok,Hong, Soon-Sun,Hong, Sungwoo American Chemical Society 2014 Journal of medicinal chemistry Vol.57 No.15
<P>The c-KIT tyrosine kinase has emerged as a potential therapeutic target for an array of diseases. However, there exists a drug resistance that is caused by mutations in c-KIT; therefore, c-KIT remains as a clinical challenge due to limited effective treatment options for therapies. For example, the acquired activating point mutation D816V significantly impairs the efficacy of targeted cancer therapies. Understanding the mechanisms of drug resistance at the molecular level will aid in designing and developing particular inhibitors with the potential to overcome these resistance mutations. We undertake a structure-based de novo design of 7-azaindole as the molecular core using the modified scoring function. This approach led to an identification of new c-KIT inhibitors over 100-fold specific for the D816V mutant relative to the wild-type c-KIT with nanomolar inhibitory activity. More importantly, these compounds potently inhibit clinically relevant D816V mutations of c-KIT in biochemical and cellular studies.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jmcmar/2014/jmcmar.2014.57.issue-15/jm500413g/production/images/medium/jm-2014-00413g_0019.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/jm500413g'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
Research on Teacher-Learning Community Experience Used to Enhance Toddler-Teacher Interaction
( Jinhee Lee ),( Jonghwa Han ) 한국유아교육학회 2021 정기학술대회 논문집 Vol.2021 No.1
This study sought to determine the difficulties and solutions discussed in teacher-learning community related to toddler-teacher interactions in order to enhance these interactions and explore the meaning of the process of resolving difficulties. The head of a workplace daycare center located in W city and three class teachers in the 2-year-old class participated in this study, and the teacher-learning community was conducted for 10 weeks. The results of the study were as follows. First, teachers felt difficult in interaction in conflict situations and in of routine daily-life guidance during the toddler-teacher interaction. In order to improve interaction in conflict situations, teachers rearranged the classroom environment, applied the conflict mediation model, and wrote an empathy journal. To improve the interaction related to routine daily-life guidance, the ‘teaching strategy for interaction’ was applied as it considers individual characteristics. Second, the teachers experienced the following: revisited their understanding of toddler, looked into the toddler's mind, responded to the toddler's behavior, completed self-reflection as a teacher, became a true colleaque, and started moving toward the same goal.
Nanoporous poly(ether sulfone) from polylactide-b-poly(ether sulfone)-b-polylactide precursor

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We report a route to synthesize polylactide-b-poly(ether sulfone)-b-polylactide (PLA-b-PES-b-PLA) containing PES and PLA, which provide a mechanically robust framework and a sacrificial template for pore formation, respectively. High-molar mass PES terminated with fluorine groups was synthesized by the step-growth nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reaction, and the chain ends were transformed into benzylic hydroxyl groups by chain end modification. Growth of the PLA using the hydroxyl groups as initiating sites via chain-growth ring opening transesterification polymerization (ROTEP) produced the target triblock copolymer. Although the step-growth polymerization produced a PES middle block with high dispersity, small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses indicated the formation of an ordered lamellar morphology. We further demonstrated that a nanoporous PES with slit-like pores could be obtained by selective removal of the PLA.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A synthetic route to polylactide-b-poly(ether sulfone)-b-polylactide was developed. </LI> <LI> The chain ends of high-molar mass poly(ether sulfone) were modified to grow polylactide. </LI> <LI> The triblock copolymer exhibited an ordered lamellar phase. </LI> <LI> Removal of the PLA produced a nanoporous poly(ether sulfone) containing slit-like pores. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
