The Application of Discrete Time Optimal Control Theory to Natural Resource Problems

본 연구는 이산시간 적정제어이론을 사용하여 동태적 경제 문제의 최적해를 구하기 위해 사용되는 두 가지 형태의 극대원리를 분석하고 있다. 이산시간 적정제어이론에 관한 선행연구들은 상태방정식이 차분방정식의 형태를 띠는 경우에 적용할 수 있는 극대원리를 제안하고 있다. 그러나 본 연구는 상태방정식이 차분방정식이 아닌 일반방정식의 형태를 띠는 경우에 적용할 수 있는 극대원리를 개발하였다. 그리고 본 연구를 통해 개발된 극대원리와 선행연구들이 제안한 극대원리와의 차이는 공동상태변수의 운동법칙에 있음을 보여주고 있다. 특히 본 연구는 Bellman의 최적원리를 이용하여 본 연구에서 개발된 극대원리는 선행연구들이 제안한 극대원리를 포함하는 일반적인 극대원리임을 설명하고 있다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 목재공급모형인 TSM 2000에 포함된 경제변수의 동태적 최적화를 구하는 과정을 통해 본 연구에서 개발된 극대원리가 경제 문제에 적용되는 사례를 보여 주고 있다.
A Harmonic Serialism analysis of Korean reciprocal manner adjustments

The main purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that syllable contact is responsible for the consistent explanation of intermorphemic reciprocal manner adjustments in Korean and to provide a step-by-step analysis within Harmonic Serialism, observing two inviolable well-formedness conditions on constraint chains of the gradualism requirement and the harmonic improvement requirement. Through the analysis of manner adjustments, this paper has proved the necessity of splitting SyllCon into a set of *Dist constraints in order to evaluate the relative sonority distance between adjacent heterosyllabic segments.
Frame rate up-conversion method based on texture adaptive bilateral motion estimation

<P>In this paper, a new frame rate up-conversion scheme is proposed in order to overcome motion blur problems of liquid crystal displays caused by slow responses. Conventional bilateral motion estimation methods used in the frame rate upconversion scheme present a major drawback of missing true motion vectors if there are blocks with simple textures in search range. To solve this problem, a texture adaptive bilateral motion estimation method increasing the cost value of a block with simple texture is proposed. Also a motion estimation scheme that utilizes neighboring motion vector effectively is proposed to reduce computation time required to estimate motion. Since the proposed scheme does not apply all available motion vectors within search range, the execution time of frame rate up conversion can be reduced dramatically. Experimental results show that the interpolated frame image quality is improved as well as the processing time of the proposed method is greatly reduced compared with those of conventional methods.</P>
Cyclicity Revisited: A Correspondence-Theoreic Approach

This paper develops the hypothesis that morphologically-related words are required to be phonologically identical by ranked and violable constraints. In English affixation, pairs of morphologically-related surface forms are linked by output-to-output multiple correspondence relations, and affix-controlled distinct OO₁- and OO₂-identity constraints may force a derived word to deviate from the canonical segmental and stress patterns of English in order to be more like its output base. This approach obviates the traditional derivational analysis that misapplication of phonology in complex words is nothing more than by-product of cyclic rule application. Given multiple correspondence relations, total and partial cyclicity effects are captured in a more direct and unified way within nonprocedural Correspondence Theory. The investigation of the catalytic activity of supported rhodium(I) complex [Rh(P-S)(CO)2] (P-S; polymer anchored salicylic acid) toward the reductive carbonylation of nitrobenzene in DMF medium has been reported. Use of basic cocatalysts in the reaction medium enhanced the percentage of more useful phenyl carbamates. Spectroscopic studies indicate that the reaction proceeds through a dimer species [Rh(HS)(CO)(C(O)OCH3)(μ-OCH3)]2 and phenyl isocyanate is formed as an intermediate. A plausible reaction mechanism based on the identification of reactive intermediates from the soluble rhodium variety has been proposed for the carbonylation process.
The Effect of Capsular Tension Ring on Posterior Capsular Opacity in Cataract Surgery

This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the capsular tension ring on posterior capsular opacity in comparison with cases undergoing intraocular lens (IOL) implantation alone. We analyzed 127 eyes which had undergone cataract surgery, including capsular tension ring insertion, along with 127 eyes which had undergone IOL implantation alone by the same surgeon from September 1998 to March 2003. In the insertion group, 41 eyes (group A) had been followed up for more than one year after silicone IOL implantation, as had 40 eyes (group B) in the control group. We compared the incidence, type, and degree of capsular opacity between A and B groups and also endothelial cell loss after surgery between the two groups. For insertion group A, the frequency of posterior capsular opacity was lower(7.3%), the duration to development was longer, and the energy required for Nd-Yag capsulotomy of PCO was less than for control group B (25%) (p=0.037). The endothelial cell count loss rate was not significantly different between the two groups (p=0.522). The capsular tension ring is associated with a significantly reduced incidence of posterior capsular opacity and is a safe procedure.
