Research on the Inter-harmonics Equivalent Impedance of Series Hybrid Active Power Filter

        Jian-gong, Zhang,Jian-ben, Liu,Shao-jun, Dai,Qiao-fu, Chen,Jun-jia, He The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.5

In the series hybrid active power filter (SHAPF) with magnetic flux compensation (MFC), the system current oscillate in the experimental results when adding the same phase harmonic current command in current control block. This condition endangers the security of the SHAPF. Taking the digit period average arithmetic as example, this paper explains the inter-harmonics current oscillation in the experiment. The conclusion is that the SHAPF is unstable to the inter-harmonics current in theory. Limited by the capacity of the inverter, the system current and the inverter output current do not increase to infinite. At last, some methods are proposed to solve this problem. From the practical viewpoint, the voltage feed-forward control is easy to achieve. It can suppress the current oscillation problems, and also improve the filtering effect. The feasibility of the methods is validated by both the emulation and experiment results.

        Shi-Ben Wang,Xian-Qing Deng,Yan Zheng,Hong-Jian Zhang,Zhe-Shan Quan 대한약학회 2013 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.36 No.1

Two series of 8-alkoxy-5-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)quinolines and 8-alkoxy-5-(2H-1,2,4-triazol-3-one-4-yl)quinolineswere synthesized. The anticonvulsant activity ofthese compounds was evaluated with maximal electroshockseizure test and rotarod test. Among the synthesized compounds,8-octoxy-5-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)quinoline (4g)was the most active compound with ED50 of 8.80 mg/kg,TD50 of 176.03 mg/kg and protective index of 20.0. Itsneurotoxicity was lower than all other synthesized compoundsand also markedly lower than that of the referencedrug carbamazepine. In addition, the potency of compound 4gagainst seizures induced by pentylenetetrazole, 3-mercaptopropionicacid, and bicuculline suggested its broad spectrumactivity, and the mechanisms of action including inhibition ofvoltage-gated ion channels and modulation of GABAergicactivity might involve in its anticonvulsant activity.

An Auto-inducible Expression System Based on the RhlI-RhlR Quorum-sensing Regulon for Recombinant Protein Production in E. coli

        Rao Ben,Fan Jiying,Sun Jian’an,Truong Ngoc Tu,Sun Jing,Zhou Jingsong,Qiuyi,Shen Yaling 한국생물공학회 2016 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.21 No.1

An artificial network which can accomplish recombinant protein synthesis guided by cell population in E. coli was constructed. The successful functioning of this network requires two plasmids, pWNB and pET. pWNB is responsible for production of T7 RNA polymerase, which controls pET; pET, in turn, regulates the production of target proteins. Several model proteins were tested and the results show that this E. coli system can be used to efficiently express various recombinant proteins. Since system contains T7 RNA polymerase production elements, it is transferable and applicable to well-characterized E. coli strains. Compared to the IPTG-induced system, an equal or greater amount of target protein can be obtained using this auto-inducible expression system in flasks and bioreactors. Our results suggest that it is a competitive alternative to other expression systems used in labs or for industrial applications.

      • Mobile sand barriers for windblown sand mitigation: Effects of plane layout and included angle

        Li Gao,Jian-jun Cheng,Bo-song Ding,Jia Lei,Yuan-feng An,Ben-teng Ma 한국풍공학회 2022 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.34 No.3

Mobile sand barriers are a new type sand-retaining structure that can be moved and arranged according to the engineering demands of sand control. When only used for sand trapping, mobile sand barriers could be arranged in single row. For the dual purposes of sand trapping and sand stabilization, four rows of mobile sand barriers can be arranged in a staggered form. To reveal the effect of plane layout, the included angle between sand barrier direction and wind direction on the characteristics of flow fields and the sand control laws of mobile sand barriers, numerical computations and wind tunnel tests were conducted. The results showed that inflows deflected after passing through staggered arrangement sand barriers due to changes in included angle, and the sand barrier combination exerted successive wind resistance and group blocking effects. An analysis of wind resistance efficiency revealed that the effective protection length of staggered arrangement sand barriers approximately ranged from the sand barrier to 10H on the leeward side (H is sand barrier height), and that the effective protection length of single row sand barriers roughly ranged from 1H on the windward side to 20H on the leeward side. The distribution of sand deposit indicated that the sand interception increased with increasing included angle in staggered arrangement. The wind-breaking and sand-trapping effects were optimal when included angle between sand barrier direction and wind direction is 60°-90°.

      • Behavior of hybrid CFST with FRP-confined UHPC core under axial compression

        Yi Tao,Jin-Ben Gu,Jian-Fei Chen,Peng Feng 국제구조공학회 2021 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.40 No.1

A fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP)-confined concrete core that provides high strength and ductility under axial compression can act as strength enhancement in a hybrid column. In the present study, ordinary concrete was replaced with ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) to form an FRP-confined UHPC core (FCUC). The FCUC was embedded in square concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns to form a high-performance hybrid column (SCF-UHPC column for short). The axial compressive behavior of the SCF-UHPC was experimentally investigated using 12 SCF-UHPC columns and two ordinary CFST columns for comparison. The advantages of the SCF-UHPC include excellent axial load-bearing capacity, good ductility, and stable residual load-bearing capacity. The results show that failure of an SCF-UHPC column was caused by FRP rupture of FCUC, which occurred after steel tube buckling that results in the degraded stiffness. It was also shown that the load-displacement behavior of the SCF-UHPC composite column was determined by the UHPC core diameter and the corresponding confinement provided by the outer steel tube and inner FRP jacket. A hardening effect could be achieved when the confinement demand of the UHPC core was satisfied, whereas a plateau effect appeared if the confinement was insufficient. Furthermore, the load-bearing capacity and ductility of the SCF-UHPC columns improved with increased thickness of the steel tube and the FRP.

      • Non-linear FEA of mechanical properties of modular prefabricated steel-concrete composite joints

Wu Cheng Long,Kan Jian Cheng,Liu Ji Ming,Mou Ben 국제구조공학회 2021 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.40 No.4

This paper study the seismic performance of modular prefabricated SRC column to steel beam composite joint (MPCJ) under static loading. Numerical modeling of MPCJs with three different beam-end connections was carried out in ABAQUS. Results of the numerical calculation were compared with existing quasi-static test results to verify the feasibility of the numerical model. The model was then used to analyze changes in the moment-rotation relation, failure mode, ductility, stiffness, and bolt stress in the joint between the column and joint module. Besides, stress distributions in the joints were analyzed along different stress paths. Under monotonic loading, the mechanical performance of the MPCJ is significantly affected by the beam end connection mode. Failure of the MPCJ mainly occurs at the beam end connection, thus, the aim of keeping the plastic hinge away from the joint core and preventing shear failure is achieved. Furthermore, the maximum story drift ratio is 3.9–5 times greater than the recommended limit, which indicates good ductility and deformation performance. The MPCJ of the three-beam end connection methods is all semi-rigid connections. The beam end structure will have a large influence on the bolt tension and stress distribution. According to the test research results, a nonlinear model with three parameters including joint cover plate cantilever section length, flange connecting plate thickness and flange connecting plate weld length was established. The theoretical calculation results was consistent with the results of the numerical simulation. MPCJs can be designed based on the proposed theoretical calculation formula.

      • Talin-1 Correlates with Reduced Invasion and Migration in Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells

Fang, Kun-Peng,Zhang, Jian-Lin,Ren, Yan-Hong,Qian, Ye-Ben Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.6

Background: Talin-1 is a cytoskeleton protein that participates in cell migration and plays a role in tumor formation, migration, and metastasis in different types of cancer. Chinese investigators have observed that the levels of Talin-1 protein and mRNA expression in HCC tissues are significantly lower than in the adjacent non-cancerous tissue. However, Japanese investigators have reported that Talin-1 is upregulated in HCC. Tln2 as homologous gene of Tln-1, which encodes a very similar protein, but the role of Talin-2 is very little known in primary liver cancer (PLC). We investigated whether the expression of Talin-1 in PLC may be associated with the histological subtype as well as the role of Talin-1 in tumor cell invasion and migration using human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines. Materials and Methods: We measured the mRNA expression levels of Talin-1 and Talin-2 in five human liver cancer cell lines and normal human liver cell ($LO_2$ cell line) by real-time PCR and the protein expression levels of Talin-1 by Western blot. Migration and invasion of the cells were assessed using transwell assays and cell scratch experiments, respectively, and proliferation was assessed by soft AGAR colony formation. Results: Talin-1 and Talin-2 expression differed significantly between the five human liver cancer cell lines and $LO_2$ cell line (p<0.05). Compared with the $LO_2$ cell line, the invasion and migration capabilities of the five cancer cell lines differed significantly (p<0.05). Similarly, the colony-forming ability differed (p<0.05). Conclusions: High levels of Talin-1 expression are correlated with reduced invasion and migration as well as decreased malignancy in human liver cancer cell lines; the suppression of Talin-1 promotes invasion and migration. In addition, Talin-2 may be correlated with invasion and migration in human hepatocellular carcinoma.

MicroRNA-576-3p Inhibits Proliferation in Bladder Cancer Cells by Targeting Cyclin D1

        Liang, Zhen,Li, Shiqi,Xu, Xin,Xu, Xianglai,Wang, Xiao,Wu, Jian,Zhu, Yi,Hu, Zhenghui,Lin, Yiwei,Mao, Yeqing,Chen, Hong,Luo, Jindan,Liu, Ben,Zheng, Xiangyi,Xie, Liping Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2015 Molecules and cells Vol.38 No.2

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, endogenous RNAs that play important gene-regulatory roles by binding to the imperfectly complementary sequences at the 3'-UTR of mRNAs and directing their gene expression. Here, we first discovered that miR-576-3p was down-regulated in human bladder cancer cell lines compared with the non-malignant cell line. To better characterize the role of miR-576-3p in bladder cancer cells, we over-expressed or down-regulated miR-576-3p in bladder cancer cells by transfecting with chemically synthesized mimic or inhibitor. The overexpression of miR-576-3p remarkably inhibited cell proliferation via G1-phase arrest, and decreased both mRNA and protein levels of cyclin D1 which played a key role in G1/S phase transition. The knock-down of miR-576-3p significantly promoted the proliferation of bladder cancer cells by accelerating the progression of cell cycle and increased the expression of cyclin D1. Moreover, the dual-luciferase reporter assays indicated that miR-576-3p could directly target cyclin D1 through binding its 3'-UTR. All the results demonstrated that miR-576-3p might be a novel suppressor of bladder cancer cell proliferation through targeting cyclin D1.
