A Novel Hybrid Intelligent Method for Fault Diagnosis of the Complex System
Jian Chu,Yadong Niu 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.3
In allusion to the low correctness and efficiency of fault diagnosis for the complex industrial system, rough set theory, particle swarm optimization and back propagation (BP) neural network are introduced to propose a hybrid intelligent fault diagnosis(RPBPNN) method in this paper. In the proposed RPBPNN method, rough set theory as a new mathematical tool is used to process inexact and uncertain knowledge in order to obtain the minimum fault characteristic set for simplifying the structure and improving learning efficiency of BPNN. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm with the global optimization ability is directly used to train the weights of BP neural network in order to establish the optimized BP neural network model. Then the minimum fault characteristic set is used to train the optimized BP neural network model in order to obtain the optimal BP neural network model for realizing the fault diagnosis. Finally, the proposed RPBPNN method is applied to an actual application case for verifying the effectiveness. The experimental results show that PSO algorithm can search for the optimal values of BPNN parameters and the proposed RPBPNN method can accurately eliminate false and improve the diagnostic accuracy. So the proposed RPBPNN method takes on better generalization performance and prediction accuracy in the real industrial application system.
No Effect of Energy Intake Overall on Risk of Endometrial Cancers: a Meta-analysis
Chu, Ke-Tan,Song, Yang,Zhou, Jian-Hong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.23
Background: Previous epidemiologic studies on the association between energy intake and endometrial cancer risk have only generated contradictory results. The role of energy intake in endometrial carcinogenesis thus remains unclear. To quantitatively assess the potential association between energy intake and endometrial cancer, a meta-analysis of case-control and cohort studies was here conducted. Materials and Methods: Eligible studies were retrieved via both computerized searches and review of references. Fixed-or random-effect models were used to summarize the estimates of OR with 95%CIs. Stratified analyses on study design, region and macronutrients' calorie were performed. Results: Sixteen studies met the inclusion criteria of the meta-analysis. No association between total energy intake and endometrial cancer was observed in either overall group (OR=1.11, 95%CI 0.92-1.30) or subgroups stratified by study design and region. In the specific macronutrients' calorie analysis, higher fat energy intake was found to be associated with increased endometrial risk (OR=1.72, 95%CI 1.12-2.32) while energy from carbohydrate and protein was not related to endometrial cancer risk. Conclusions: Our analysis did not support that total energy intake is related to endometrial cancer risk, in contrast to fat energy.

A novel sulfonate flame retardant, 1,3,5,7-tetrakis(phenyl-4-sodium sulfonate)adamantane (FR-A), was suc-cessfully synthesized from l-bromoadamantane in sequential four-step reactions involving Fiedel-Crafts phenylation, sul-phonation, hydrolysis, and neutralization. The success of synthesis was confirmed by FTIR spectra, ‘H NMR spectra, elemental analyses and mass spectra. The effect of FR-A on the flame retardacy of polycarbonate (PC) has been studied. Limiting oxygen index (LOI) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) showed that this novel sulfonate flame retardant had effective flame retardancy on polycarbonate (PC). With a small amount (0.08 Wt%) of FR-A. the flame retardancy of PC was improved obviously, which got to UL 94 V-0 rating. TGA and DTA curves demonstrated that the additive raised the degradation rate of PC by promoting the quick formation of an insulating carbon layer on the surface, and confirmed that the flame retardant mechanism of PC/FR-A system was similar to potassium diphenylsulfone sulfonate (KSS).
Investigation on reverse flow characteristics in U-tubes under two-phase natural circulation
Chu, Xi,Li, Mingrui,Chen, Wenzhen,Hao, Jianli Korean Nuclear Society 2020 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.52 No.5
The vertically inverted U-tube steam generator (UTSG) is widely used in the pressurized water reactor (PWR). The reverse flow behavior generally exists in some U-tubes of a steam generator (SG) under both single- and two-phase natural circulations (NCs). The behavior increases the flow resistance in the primary loop and reduces the heat transfer in the SG. As a consequence, the NC ability as well as the inherent safety of nuclear reactors is faced with severe challenges. The theoretical models for calculating single- and two-phase flow pressure drops in U-tubes are developed and validated in this paper. The two-phase reverse flow characteristics in two types of SGs are investigated base on the theoretical models, and the effects of the U-tube height, bending radius, inlet steam quality and primary side pressure on the behavior are analyzed. The conclusions may provide some promising references for SG optimization to reduce the disadvantageous behavior. It is also of significance to improve the NC ability and ensure the PWR safety during some accidents.

Veronica persica Poir. (Persian speedwell) is an invasive alien weed species in the upland soils throughout China. Its dominance in weed flora could be alleviated by Chorispora tenella (Pall.) (tender chorispora) in P-poor soils and in an intense light environment. Here, three experiments in growth chambers were carried out in order to explore the effect of P and light intensity on the growth and competition of V. persica and C. tenella, the pH value in their rhizospheres, and the kinetic parameters (Km and Vmax) of the H2PO4 - uptake by the two weed species. The ANOVA results showed that the light intensity and P level in the soil obviously influenced the growth of the two weed species. However, the effect of the P level in the soil was greater for V. persica and the effect of the light intensity was greater for C. tenella. The restriction of the growth of V. persica by a low P level in the soil was much more than that of C. tenella, but it was reversed in the two species in relation to a low light intensity. In addition, the pH was lower in the rhizosphere of C. tenella after the P-deficient treatment and there was a lower Km in the uptake of H2PO4 - than for V. persica, suggesting that C. tenella could adapt to a low-P environment more easily. In conclusion, C. tenella growing together with V. persica had a competitive advantage under high-light-intensity and low-P-level conditions, but it lost its advantage with an increase in P fertilization and a decrease in light intensity.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the expression of B7-H4 in human thyroid cancer and determine any association with patient clinicopathological parameters and survival. Methods: B7-H4 expression in 64 clinical thyroid cancer specimens was assessed with immunohistochemistry. Moreover, B7-H4 mRNA expression in 10 fresh resected specimens were evaluated by the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Immunohistochemical staining of CD3 was performed to assess the number of tumor infiltrating T lymphocytes (TILs) in thyroid cancers. Results: Positive B7-H4 immunohistochemical staining was observed in 61 out of 64 (95.3%) specimens of thyroid cancer tissues. Significantly more B7-H4 mRNA copies were found in thyroid cancer tissue than that adjacent normal tissue. Moreover, B7-H4 expression in human thyroid cancer tissues was significantly correlated with patient TNM stages and extrathyroidal extension (P<0.05), being inversely correlated with the number of TILs (P<0.05). The overall survival rate of the patients with higher B7-H4 expression was significantly worse than that of the patients with lower B7-H4 expression. Conclusions: This present study suggests that high B7-H4 expression is associated with cancer progression, reduced tumor immunosurveillance and worse patient outcomes in human thyroid cancer.
