      • 완전 결합형 ATM 스위치의 멀티캐스트 성능특성에 관한 연구

        In this paper, we studied on the multicast performance characteristics of fully-interconnected switch proposed by ETRI. It is the proper architecture for a small-sized switch element. The switch uses bit addressing method for addressing scheme and thus it is easy to implement multicast function without adding a function block. In B-ISDN(Broadband Integrated Services Digital Networks), the efficient implementation of multicase function is very important since the demand for distributed type of service is expected to grow. To incorporate the bursty nature of traffic in ATM networks, we used IBP(Interrupted Bernoulli Process) model as an input traffic model. We presented and analyzed the simulation results in terms of the multicast operation of the switch.

        우리는 우리 지방에 자생하면서 기후풍토에 적응된 아름답고 진귀한 많은 야생 화목류와 교목류 등을 부존하고 있으면서도 이들을 연구 개발하지 않고 주로 도입 종과 재배종에만 의존하고 있는 것이 오늘의 현실이다. 그러므로, 국내외의 관광객 이 요구하는 즉, 강원도는 물론 우리나라 고유의 정취와 이미지를 줄 수 있는 많은 야생종들을 연구, 개발하여 조경식물화시켜 대량으로 번식시키는 동시에 일반 재배 화 함으러써 향토색 짙은 관광한국을 만들어 관장사업의 근본목표인 경제적 효용을 다하기 위해 매우 개발가치가 있는 교목류 37종과 관목류 73종의 특성을 전년도에 조사하였고, 이번에는 이들 중 만병초, 개느삼, 다래, 딱총나무, 꼬리진달래, 가침박 달, 흰진달래, 으름 등 8종의 특성, 자생지 환경, 번식실험, 재배 및 이용실험 등을 실시하였다. In order to efficiently provide multimedia services in Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network(B-ISDN), the control of several complicated types of call and service is inevitable. These control may be accomplished efficiently using Intelligent Network(IN). The integration of IN and B-ISDN is an important technology field for the emerging multimedia services in the future. To incorporate diverse multimedia services over the high-speed communication network based on the B-ISDN, the IN-based service control architecture is being considered as the most realistic choice. In the IN, all services and service features are described based on basic call process(BCP). The BCP may be classified into several models depending on the degrees of detailed descriptions but it can be categorized broadly into two classes; distributed and centralized types. In this paper, we studied the both call modeling techniques for IN over B-ISDN which is one of the issues to be solved to make up IN Capability Set-3.

        치주인대 세포의 교원질 생성에 대한 Substance P의 효과

        Substance P는 교정력이 가해진 치아의 치주인대 중 인장력을 받는 부위에 많이 분포하는 neuropeptide 중의 하나이며, 또한 여러 조직에서 neurogenic inflammation을 야기하는 neuropeptide 중의 하나로도 알려져 있다. 그러나 중요한 세포의 단백기질인 교원질의 생성에 대한 Substance P의 효과는 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 따라서 이 연구의 목적은 배양 치주인대 세포에서 교원질 생성에 대한 Substance P의 효과를 평가하는 것이었다. collagenase-digestion method로 교원질 생성을 평가하였고 mRNA 수준에서 작용효과를 평가하기 위하여 Northern blot hybridization을 시행하였다. 이 연구는 또한 교원질 생성에 대한 prostaglandin과 gelatinase 생성도 포함하였으며 변성된 교원질의 분해를 평가하기 위하여 Zymography를 이용하였다. 비교원성 단백질, 교원성 단백질, 상대교원질에 대한 dose-dependent effect를 보면 Substance P는 비교원성 단백질 합성을 증가시켰으나 교원성 단백질 합성은 감소시켰다. 그리하여 총 단백합성에 대한 상대적인 교원질 생성을 나타내는 상대교원질은 7%에서 3.6%로 감소시켰다. 세포를 indomethacin과 동시에 처리할 때 substance P의 교원질 합성 억제효과는 나타나지 않았다. 이것은 Substance P의 교원질 합성 억제효과가 prostaglandin의 생성 때문이라는 것을 의미한다. Substance P의 교원질 합성 억제효과가 procollagen mRNA의 정상(steady-state)수준에 부합하는가를 평가하기 위하여 northern blot hybridization을 시행한 결과 Substance P는 α1(1) procollagen mRNA의 양적 변동을 일으키지 않았다. Substance P의 교원질 생성 억제효과는 전사이후의 어떤 단계에서 이루어지는 현상임을 나타낸다. 치주인대세포에서 gelatinase 생성에 대한 Substance P의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 zymography를 이용하였다. zymogram을 보면 Substance P는 치주인대세포에서 gelatinase 생성에는 아무 효과도 나타내지 않음을 알 수 있다. Substance P의 교원질 생성 억제효과가 치주인대세포에 대해 선택적인가 아닌가를 알아보기 위하여 MC3T3-E1세포를 이용하였는데 Substance P는 MC3T3-E1세포의 교원질 합성에는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이상에서 Substance P는 인간의 치주인대세포에서 교원질 합성을 억제하였다. 이 효과는 procollagen mRNA와 gelatinase 생성의 정상(steady-state) 수준의 변화 때문이 아니라 prostaglandin 생성과 연관이 있음을 알았다. Substance P is one of the neuropeptide which presents highly in tension site of periodontal ligament during the orthodontic tooth movement. It has been also known as one of the neuropeptides which cause neurogenic inflammation in various tissues and organs. However, there is no report about the effect of substance P on major extracellualar matrix protein, collagen production. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the collagen production by substance P in human periodontal ligament cell, The collagenase-digestion method was used to evaluate collagen production and also used Northern blot hybridization for the evaluation of collagen mRNA level. This study also included in terms of prostanglandins and gelatinase production with respect to collagen production. For the collagen degradation, zymography was used to estimate denatured collagen degradation. Dose-dependent effect of substance P on noncollagen protein, collagen, and percent collagen was that substance P increased noncollagen protein synthesis, but decreased collagen systnisis. So the percent collagen, which determined by relative collagen production against total protein production, was decreased from 7% to 3.6%. This inhibitory effect of substance P on collagen production was disappeared when cells were treated concomitantly with indomethacin. It means that substance P-induced inhibitory effect on collagen production was due at least in part to the production of prostaglandins. To evaluate whether substance P-induced inhibitory effect on collagen production is correspond to the steady-state levels of procollagen mRNA, Northern blot hybridizartion was performed and it showed that substance P has no effect on the steady-state level of α1(1) procollagen mRNA. It means that the inhibitory effect of substance P on collagen production was due to the change of a certain mechanism after posttranscription. In this context, gelatinase production by substance P in periodontal ligament cells was evaluated by zymography. Zymogram showed that substance P has no effect on gelatinase production in periodontal ligament cells. To explore wheter substance P-induced inhibitory effect on collagen production is selevtive in periodontal ligament cells or not, MC3T3-31 cells which originated from mouse calvaria was used. It showed that substance P has no effect on collagen production in MCDTD-E1 cells. Taken together, substance P inhibits collagen production in human periodontal ligament cells. This effect was not due to the change of the steady-state level of procollagen mRNA and gelatinase production, but due at least in part to the change of prostaglandins production.

      • 주문형 비디오 시스템에서의 데이타 저장 및 디스크 스케줄링 기법

        Generally speaking, I/O capability and storage requirements are more important than computing capability in a video system. The gap between processor performance and I/O system is expected to widen continuously. Therefore, the disk system typically becomes the bottleneck in a Video-On-Demand(VOD) system. Data storage in a VOD server is different from that of conventional file server in respect to the points that needs real-timeliness and requires large storage capacity. The conventional storage servers are not also geared to handle the demands of applications that deal with continuous media. In this paper, we made a survey of the placement methods for mutimedia data strage and presented a VOD data structure which can minimize the seek overheads in retrieval and maximize the throughput, thus may result in a substantial increase in the access efficiency for storage and retrieval. Using the data structure, we simulated the disk system in a VOD server and compared the performance of some disk scheduling schemes.

        國民學校 家政科 敎科敎育을 爲한 基礎硏究

        This paper is aimed to improve the current curriculum in the Korean elementary school's practical course, which covers both industrial fields and Home Economics. Specially inveotigated here are teacher's attitude toward the practical course and the degree of difficulty in teaching each content of the practical course in the 4th and 5th grade in the elementary school in term's of teacher's sex and localing. Since two heterogeneous subjects, industrial fields and Home Economics, are integrated into one subject named the practical course, the teaching of the practical course is not specialized. Besides, the teaching is implemented inefficiently, owing to the teacher's misunderstanding of the practical course. In this respect, as a way of maximizing the effectiveness of practical course in elementary school, the authors suggest some proposals. (1) The curriculum of practical course should be divided into two course, industrial fields and Home Economics. (2) All students should be completed Home Economics as a required course (3) A system of full-time teacher for Home Economics subject should be introduced. Concurrently, the curiculum of the practical course in Teacher's College be modified.

      • 방송과 통신의 통합서비스를 위한 통신망 구조에 관한 연구

        According to the development of information communications technology, the boundaries among broadcasting, communications and video industries are being blurred. Especially, the convergence of broadcasting and communications is expected to be accelerated in the near future because of their similarity in terms of technology. Therefore, it is in urgent request to devise the proper network architecture in order to provide efficiently the integrated services of broadcasting and communications. In this paper, we made an extensive study on the network architecture for the integration of broadcasting and communications services. The reference models for the access network architecture from the several worldwide standard bodies are analyzed. The progressive strategy for the migration from existing services to future services is also described.

      • VOD 서비스를 위한 액세스 정책의 성능 비교

        In a VOD(Video-On-Demand) system, video data are generally stored on magnetic disk array system. In order to provide the real-time requirements for the data retrieval, video streams must be delivered continuously to the clients such that the delivery of continuous media can be guaranteed in a timely fashion. Video information is generally encoded as a VBR(Variable Bit Rae) stream based on the relevant MPEG standards. To access the VBR data in a VOD system, we may have two approaches: CTL(Constant Time Length) and CDL(Constant Data Length) access policies. In this paper, we examined and compared the performance of CDL and CTL data access policy is a little better than CDL policy in term of the maximum allowable video streams. However, it is believed that further studies ae required to design an efficient data access policy to be used under a real VOD environment.

      • 광대역 지능망 구조에서 원격교육 서비스를 위한 총괄 서비스 로직 설계

        To implement a system which can efficiently support a multimedia service such as distance learning, we need network capability by which a call with multiple connections including point-to-multipoint or multipoint-to-multipoint connections can be supported. We also need a complex signalling in order to control network resources for the connections among the terminal equipments which have different characteristics(i.e., terminals with different encoding or presentation schemes). These resource control functions may easily be accomplished by using a flexible control capability of In(intelligent Network). In order to design distance learning services which is one of representative multimedia services, we utilized SIBs(Service Independent Building blocks) defined in IN. In this paper, we modelled the distance learning service in terms of GSL(Global Service Logic)on the IN GFP(Global Functional Plane) in accordance with the service usage procedures.

      • 非同期 傳達모드 通信網을 위한 影像 트래픽의 特性化에 대한 硏究

        Asynchronous Transfer Mode(ATM) has been proposed as the target switching and multi-plexing schemes for broadband ISDN(B-ISDN). A variety of traffic types such as voice, data and video can be integrated into the network. Among the traffic types, video requires a significantly higher bandwidth than voice and data. Since video will be a major traffic component in the future multimedia communiation, transporting video traffic in a very efficient manner will be the key point for the successful implementation of B-ISDN. Therefore, the characterization of video traffic sources are essential for the design of traffic control algorithms in ATM networks. The knowledge of bit rate statistics are necessary for the proper bandwidth allocation algorithms in the ATM networks. Since VBR(Variable Bit Rate) video transmission can be achieved taking advantages of the inherent burstiness of video sources, VBR encoding algorithms are well suited for the ATM networks. VBR video transmission also provides uniform quality video by transmitting at a higher rate during high-activity scenes and at a low rate when there is less motion. As the bit rate is not a constant, it is necessary to develop some statistical models in order to represent cell arrivals from video sources. The bit rate generated by a VBR coder depends on the type of video scenes, video coding algorithms, and video quality requirements. A video source model should have simple and effective parameters for performance evaluation and traffic control of ATM networks. In this paper, some video models are surveyed and reviewed. A video model was chosen and simulated. The simulation results are shown in order to illustrate some generated bit pattern of video sequence. Some of the results found may also be used for the design of efficient traffic control algorithm in ATM networks.

      • 수도권 지역 대학병원과 재활병원의 인턴물리치료사간 인턴 만족도 비교

        The purpose of this study was to compare internship satisfaction of intern physical therapists working in the university hospitals with that of them working in the rehabilitation hospitals in Seoul metropolitan area. The questionnaire for internship satisfaction survey that amended from vocational interest test [Strong Interest Inventory(SII)] was used to examine satisfaction of intern physical therapists and the questionnaire was used to ask general characteristics, educational and work environment. Thirty nine intern physical therapists working in university hospital and fifty nine intern physical therapists rehabilitation hospital in Seoul metropolitan area responded. Frequency analysis, χ² test and independent t-test were conducted to evaluate differences between groups about variables of internship satisfaction survey, general characteristics, work and educational environments with using the PASW 18.0 statistical program. The results of the study were as follows. There were significant differences of intern physical therapists between university hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals in overall scores of internship satisfaction and scores of all sub-items such as duty, supervision, working condition, work mates and wages. Intern physical therapists working in the university hospitals showed higher satisfaction than that of Intern physical therapists working in the rehabilitation hospitals.
