        NiCo Sensing Layer for Enhanced Signals in Planar Hall Effect Sensors

        NiCo alloy materials have been investigaged as a potential sensing layer for planar Hall effect (PHE) sensors in magnetic multilayer structures. In this study, the magnetoresistive performance of the NiCo alloy is compared with that of the NiFe alloy. With an optimum thickness of 10 nm, the increment of the PHE voltage (Vmax) for the NiCo-based sensor was approximately 1.5 times larger than that of the NiFe-based sensor. The field sensitivity of both sensor types appeared to be nearly equal. However, the dynamic field range for the NiCo sensor was increased by approximately 40% compared with that of the NiFe sensor. The measuring configuration was optimized in order to obtain higher field sensitivity in the sensor. The field sensitivity was measured to be at a maximum at a 20° angle between the easy axis of the sensor and the applied external field, which was approximately three times higher than that in the perpendicular direction.

      • Exponential Linear Unit 활성화 함수를 이용한 YOLOv3

        YOLOv3 is an attractive real-time object detection technology based on deep learning. In this paper, we propose to apply Exponential Linear Unit (ELU) instead of Leaky Rectified Linear Unit (Leaky ReLU), which is the activation function in the existing YOLOv3. In experimental results, performances are compared for YOLOv3 with Leaky ReLU and YOLOv3 with ELU. Experimental results show that YOLOv3 with ELU improves classification accuracy about 1% compared to YOLOv3 with the existing Leaky ReLU activation function.

      • Modeling Method of Mechanical Emotion on Home Appliance

        Objective: The aim of this study is to suggest the method of developing the model which survey the mechanical emotion factors on home appliance and evaluate the product quantitatively. Background: There are many studies that evaluate the emotional satisfaction of the home appliance to estimate the competitiveness or to fine the direction for improving emotion factors of them. However, there are not many studies on the mechanical emotion factors of the home appliance. Therefore this study treats them mainly. Method: The first step of the method is to grasp the general meaning of the target product and extract the important words on the product. The words are used by key expression in next step. The second is to survey the real voices of customers and find the mechanical emotion factors by various tools like Eye-tracker, FGI, Personal Diary, etc. The next is to analyze the interaction and calculate the relative weights among the factors quantitatively. Results: As the result, lastly, this study makes the emotion map of the factors and applies the method to the refrigerator which is the representative product of home appliances to identify the possibility of the method. Conclusion: We can improve the mechanical emotion quality of home appliances by using this method. Application: This method of our study will lay foundation for improving the competiveness of home appliances.

        Sliding Factor Development on Mechanical Emotion in Mobile Phone of Slide Type

        Objective: The aim of this study is to find the optimal values of sliding factors which influence the mechanical emotion of users when they use sliding type mobile phones. Background: There are various researches that study the emotion of using mobile phones. They focus the correlation between emotion words and design factors and use the commercial products by the subjects in the experiment. However, it has a limit in finding the optimal point of emotional factors because we can search the restricted values in the mass production of the products. Therefore, we will find the optimal points by realizing the full range of the user"s mechanical emotion. Method: First, we need to get the detailed factors which can describe the mechanical emotion in sliding up and down the mobile phone. Next, we find the control factors by considering the correlation between the factors of the sliding emotion and the possibility of quantitative design. To find the optimal points on the control factors, we make a sliding evaluation system which can help users feel the sliding mechanical emotion by realizing control factors. Finally, we find the optimal points by doing the experiment the system being used. Results: The critical values of the factors which are the main variables of this study are Open Max Force and Dead point Ratio. The optimal point of the Open Max Force is 200~250g/f, and the Dead point Ratio is 40~50%. Conclusion: In this study we develop the sliding evaluation system to realize the control factors of the sliding type phone and find the optimal values of the critical factors. Application: The results can be used as the criteria for designing sliding type phone.

        Objective: 본 연구의 목적은 공공을 위한 정책들을 추진하는 과정에서 다양한 이해관계자들을 설득하고 결국에는 적용해나가는 과정의 사례들을 분석하여 향후 유사한 과정에 활용할 수 있도록 하는데 있다. Background: 공공의 이익을 위한 다양한 정책들의 추진은 필요한데 그 과정에서 다양한 이해관계자가 존재하고 그들의 각자의 관점에서 이해관계는 복잡하게 얽힐 수 밖에 없다. 그런 복잡한 이해관계를 극복하면서 정책을 추진하는 것은 공공의 이익을 위하여 상당히 중요한 과정이 될 수 있다. Method: 공공의 정책을 적용하는데 필요한 어떤 시스템이나 프로세스, 정책 같은 것을 볼 수 있는 사례들을 선정한다. 이후 정책화 과정을 조사한다. 그 정책이나 시스템이 적용되기 위해 필요한 일을 수행하는 과정에서 어떤 일이 있었는지, 제도화 과정, 전략, 방법들에 대하여 조사한다. Result: 다양한 사례 조사를 거쳐 10개 사례의 과정을 정리하였다. Conclusion & Application: 분석한 사례들은 향후 공공 정책을 적용하는 과정에서 이슈를 해결하는데 다양한 참고 자료가 될 것이다.

        Highly Flexible Magnetoelectronic Device Integrated With Embedded Ag Nanoparticle Electrode

        <P>A flexible magnetoresistance (MR) device is fabricated through the hybrid process of embedding an Ag nanoparticle electrode by thermal imprinting and magnetic multilayer sensor element by sputtering on a polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) substrate. The MR signal profiles for a ring type sensor deposited on the PEN substrate show typical anti-symmetric curves centered for the field H=0, and the maximum signal and its field sensitivity are nearly the same as those of sensors deposited on Si and glass substrates. The root mean square (rms) roughnesses and magnetic properties of magnetic thin film deposited on the different substrates show that H<SUB>ex</SUB> was decreased with increasing roughness. Further, MR change with temperature had no significant effect on the sensor performance. The stability of Au electrode and Ag paste electrode were compared during the bending of MR sensor, revealing the cracking of Au electrode above 45°. However, Ag paste electrode was stable up to 90°. The field sensitivity of the MR signal for the full range of fields is inversely proportional to the effective anisotropy field, which is the sum of exchange-bias and stress-induced anisotropy fields. As a whole, the field sensitivity of MR signal depends on bending stress at the sensor position.</P>
