Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of TMJ Balancing Appliance (TBA) on healthy humans by using power spectral analysis of Electroencephalogram (EEG). Methods: 50 healthy volunteers participated in this study. A thirty-two channel EEG device was used for this study on 50 subjects (28 males, 22 females; mean age=25.3 years old). Results: 19 channel was measured and analysed. The relative power values in α, β, γ, Senorimotor rhythm (SMR), mid-β, high-β band and concentration index ((SMR wave+Mid-β wave)/θ) increased insignificantly. Relaxation index(α/High-β wave) increased significantly (p<0.05) comparing to the before the TBA application. After the TBA application, the relative power values in α, β, γ, SMR (Senorimotor rhythm), mid-β, high-β band and concentration index((SMR wave+Mid-β wave)/θ) increased insignificantly. Relaxation index (α/High-β wave) increased significantly (p <0.01) comparing to the before the TBA application. Conclusions: These results suggest that TBA application causes significant changes on relaxation index. Application of TBA shall regulate the function of the cerebral cortex increase parasympathetic nervous activity.
가습연소 폐열회수 보일러의 효율 평가를 위한 실험 및 수치해석 모델 연구

The heat exchanging method between inlet air and exhaust gas in waste-heat recovery exchanger of condensing boilers is expected as a solution to improve the overall efficiency of boiler more than conventional condensing boiler’s efficiency. Furthermore, to reduce the emission gas such as NOx, the concept of spraying the water into inlet air is introduced. The role of injected water is increasing the amount of condensed water in exhaust gas and lowering the flame temperature. To validate the effect of heat exchanging and water spray injection technique in boiler system, the numerical analyzing model of boiler is required. This study suggests the models which analyzes the overall efficiency of boiler and amount of moles and heat energy of working fluids for waste-heat recovery boiler system with water spray based on mass and heat energy balances. With the experimental results of waste-heat recovery boiler with water spray, the efficiency of boiler and mass and heat energy balances is analyzed thoroughly and the cause of undesired phenomena are discussed.
