심우도는 선종에서 방황하는 자신의 본성을 발견하고 깨달음에 이르기까지의 과정을 야생의 소를 길들이는 데 비유하여 10단계로 나누어 그린 그림을 말한다. 이 글은 두 가지 의도가 들어있다. 하나는 심우도에 나타난 10단계를 내용과 형식적인 측면에서 분석한 것이다. 두 번째는 근대화와 함께 잃어버린 우리 그림 속의 상징성을 역사적, 사회적 배경 속에서 찾아보고 포스트모더니즘 언어로서 둘 사이의 유사성을 찾아보려는 시도이다.

A new 5-MW floating offshore wind turbine moored by a spring-tensioned-leg was proposed for installation in about 50m water depth. Its substructure is a platform of the inverted conical cylinder type with massive ballast weight plate at the bottom. A 1:128 scale model was built for the preliminary engineering development. The model tests in waves and wind were carried out to estimate motion characteristics of this platform in the Ocean Engineering Wide Tank of the University of Ulsan. Its motions were measured and the RAOs were compared. The proposed floating offshore wind turbine showed a good stability and decent responses in waves, wind and operation of the wind turbine.

This paper presents the model test results of 3 new spar platforms which were developed based on the OC3-Hywind spar to support a 5-MW wind turbine. By changing the shape but keeping both volume and mass of OC3-Hywind spar platform, those platforms were expected to experience different hydrodynamic and hydrostatic loads. The scale models were built with a 1/128 scale ratio. The model tests were carried out in waves, including both rotating rotor effect and mean wind speed. The characteristic motions of the 3 new models were measured; Response Amplitude Operators (RAO) and significant motions were calculated and compared with those of OC3-Hywind.

Most offshore structures including offshore wind turbines, ships, etc. suffer from the impulsive pressure loads due to slamming phenomena in rough waves. The effects of elasticity & plasticity on such slamming loads are investigated through wet free drop test results of several steel unstiffened flat bottom bodies in the rectangular water tank. Also, their cumulative deformations by consecutively repetitive free drops from 1000 mm to 2000 mm in height are measured.

비주얼 리터러시로서의 미술: 자아를 찾아가는 미술여행 에서의 시각적 자기표현과 치유적 기능

본고는 “자아를 찾아가는 미술여행” 프로그램을 사회단체에서 20년 이상 진행하며 교사이자 연구자로서 보고 느낀 체험을 통하여 시각적 자기표현 중심의 미술에 대한 기능을 밝히고 있다. 이 프로그램의 목표는 비주얼 리터러시의 증진에 있다. 이는 우뇌로 보고 느끼는 시각적 자기표현의 작업 과정에서 가장 효과적으로 발달한다. 여기에서의 미술은 작업의 결과가 아니라 과정을 즐기는 마음놀이다. 프로그램의 내용은 세부분으로 구성되어 참여자들 각자의 외면으로부터 단계적으로 내면으로 들어가며 작업하다가 공유하며 마친다. 첫 단계는 미술과 친해지기로서 감상과 마음대로 놀기, 중간 단계는 자기치유, 그리고 셋째 단계는 소통으로서의 미술로서 협동작업과 그 때까지 작업한 전 과정을 ‘나의 그림일기’라는 책으로 만들어 전시를 한다. 참여자들은 전 과정을 통하여 드러나는 자신들 내면의 이미지를 보고 느끼면서 시각의 자기중심적 한계를 알아채고 ‘정말로 본다는 것’의 의미 체험하며, 서로 공감, 소통하였다. 이 프로그램에서 비주얼 리터러시로서의 미술은 자기표현이 풍부한 작업을 창조하여 창의적이고 좋은 결과를 만들어내었다. 이는 잘할 수 있다는 자신감과 함께 자존감도 향상되는 과정이 되었다. 이와 더불어 몸/물질과 마음/정신, 감성과 이성, 미와 영성의 합일 등을 체화하는 자기 치유적 기능을 하였다. 이러한 연구자의 체험은 미술이 특수한 재능이 아니라 누구나 쉽고 재미있게 배울 수 있으며 누구나 예술가가 될 수 있다는 사실이었다. 이러한 비주얼 리터러시로서의 미술의 기능은 미술교육에서 시사하는 바가 크며 기초교과로서 역할을 해야 할 필요성을 제기하였다. This study acknowledges the function of visual self-expression art through the program Art journey searching for self . The goal of this program is to promote visual literacy and its’ most effective way to develop is to focus on seeing and feeling with the right hemisphere of a brain. The art here is not the result but the working process. The program was configured to work step by step from the outside to the inside. It has three parts. The first stage is to appreciate the arts, and to play with arts materials freely. The middle stage is to heal the self through arts, and the third stage to work collaboratively, make a drawing diary with the images that participants made through the whole process and have an exhibition. They experienced self-healing, communicating with each other by seeing and expressing their own inner feelings that appeared in the process. In this program, the function of art as visual literacy embodies unity of body/substance, mind/spirit, and sensibility/reason, beauty/spirituality through seeing the self and communication. In addition, participants created good results that is rich in self-expression. This is a process in which self-esteem is improved as well as self-confidence. The experience that researchers have conducted for more than 20 years in social organizations is that art is not a special talent, but everyone can learn it easily and more fun, and everyone can become an artist. This point has great implications in art education, and the need for art as visual literacy to serve as a basic subject.
