Opuntia humifusa Ameliorated Cerulein-Induced Acute Pancreatitis

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of Opuntia humifusa (OH) on cerulein-induced acute pancreatitis (AP). METHODS: Acute pancreatitis was induced via intraperitoneal injection of cholecystokinin analog cerulein (50 μg/kg). In the OH pretreatment group, OH was administered intraperitoneally (100, 250, or 500 mg/kg) 1 hour before first cerulein injection. In the posttreatment group, OH was administered intraperitoneally (500 mg/kg) 1 hour after the first cerulein injection. Furthermore, we isolated the pancreatic acinar cells using collagenase method, then investigated the acinar cell viability, cytokine productions, and the regulating mechanisms. RESULTS: The both pretreatment and posttreatment of OH treatment attenuated the severity of AP, as shown by the histology of the pancreas and lung, and inhibited neutrophil infiltration; serum amylase and lipase activities; proinflammatory cytokine expression such as interleukin 1, interleukin 6, and tumor necrosis factor α; and cell death including apoptosis and necrosis. Furthermore, OH inhibited the activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinases. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that OH reduces the severity of AP by inhibiting acinar cell death through c-Jun N-terminal kinases.

A spark discharge aerosol generator using air as a carrier gas has successfully been applied to silver nanoparticle production in connection with an evaluation of by-product gases such as ozone. The spark discharge between two silver electrodes, which was periodically obtained by discharging the capacitor, produced sufficient high temperatures to evaporate a small fraction of the silver electrodes. The silver vapor was subsequently condensed to silver nanoparticles of about 20 ㎚ size in diameter. The morphology and chemical composition of the generated particles were observed by TEM/EDS, and the particle size distribution was measured using a SMPS system. A stable operation of the spark discharge generator has been achieved, and the size and concentration of the particles can be easily controlled by altering the repetition frequency, capacitance, gap distance and flow rate of the spark discharge system.
SEA 해석을 통한 대시 흡차음재 중량 저감 성능 연구

In this paper Statistical Energy Analysis has been considered to predict high frequency air borne interior noise. Dash panel Insulation is major part to reduce engine excitation noise. Transmission loss and absorption coefficient are considered to predict dash insulation performance. Transmission loss is derived from coupling loss factor and absorption coefficient is derived from internal damping loss factor. Material Biot properties were used to calculate each loss factors. Insulation geometry thickness distribution was hard to measure, so FEM pre/post software was used to calculate thickness map from CAD drawing. Each predicted transmission loss between conventional insulation and light weight insulation were compared with SEA. Transmission loss measurement was performed to validate each prediction result, and it showed good correlation between prediction and measurement. Finally interior noise prediction was performed and result showed light weight insulation system can reduce 40% weight to keep similar performance with conventional insulation system, even though light weight insulation system has lower sound transmission loss and higher absorption coefficient than conventional system.
이메일 스팸트랩을 이용한 좀비 PC 및 봇넷 추적 방안 연구

봇넷(Botnet)은 이미 해킹당한 좀비 PC들로 구성된 거대한 네트워크이다. 본 논문에서는 대다수의 스팸이 봇넷에 의해 발송되고 있다는 점에 착안하여 스팸메일을 분석하여 봇넷과 좀비PC들을 탐지할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 이를 검증하였다. 특히, 본 논문에서는 국가차원에서 스팸 수집·분석·증거물 확보를 목적으로 KISA에서 운영하고 있는 이메일 스팸 트랩 시스템에서 수집된 방대한 스팸 메일을 분석에 활용하였다. 본 논문에서는 동일한 URL이나 첨부파일을 가진 스팸을 하나의 그룹으로 분류하고, 각 그룹의 전체 IP들이 어느 정도 봇넷의 특징을 가지고 있는지와 그룹 내의 각각의 IP들이 어느 정도 좀비 PC의 특징을 가지고 있는지를 측정하여 봇넷 그룹과 좀비 PC를 판별할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 제안된 시스템의 시뮬레이션 결과 1시간동안 16,030개의 좀비 의심 PC를 추출할 수 있었으며, 이메일 스팸이 좀비 PC를 추적하는데 상당히 유용한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. A botnet is a huge network of hacked zombie PCs. Recognizing the fact that the majority of email spam is sent out by botnets, a system that is capable of detecting botnets and zombie PCs will be designed in this study by analyzing email spam. In this study, spam data collected in "an email spam trap system", Korea’s national spam collection system, were used for analysis. In this study, we classified the spam groups by the URLs or attached files, and we measured how much the group has the characteristics of botnet and how much the IPs have the characteristics of zombie PC. Through the simulation result in this study, we could extract 16,030 zombie suspected PCs for one hours and it was verified that email spam can provide considerably useful information in tracing zombie PCs.
