        The purpose of this study is to suggest the non-destructive equation for the estimation of concrete strength by ultrasonic pulse velocity about the 28day compressive strength of 600∼1000㎏/㎠. The correlation equations between the ultrasonic pulse velocity and the compressive strength of concrete are follows. ① F_c = 1198.4V_p - 5020 (R^2 = 0.83, plain concrete) ② F_c = 1010.0V_p - 4001 (R^2 = 0.92, concrete with 10% silica fume content) ③ F_c = 896.3V_p - 3514 (R^2 = 0.81, ①+②) where, F_c : compressive strength(㎏/㎠), V_p : ultrasonic velocity(㎞/sec)

        Gullian Barre Syndrome is an acute symmetric polyradiculoneuropathy that typically presents as a progressive flaccid paralysis. The pathology is believed to be caused by both cellular and humoral immune processes The possibility of death is 3-5% and About 20% of patients require mechanical ventilaton. Recently We have experienced a patient who had suspected Gullian Barre Syndrome for 60days, his condition weakness and pain was impoved through the herb and acupucture Therefore I reported it for the treatment.

      • 실리카흄을 사용한 충전강관용 초고강도 콘크리트에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to investigate properties of the ultra high strength concrete using silica fume for concrete filled tubular. For this purpose, the properties of concrete are examined with varing water/binder ratio, binder content, maximum size of coarse aggregate, sand/aggregate ratio. From these test results, it is possible to manufacture the maximum compressive strength of 1008㎏/㎠ with binder content 560㎏/㎥, 21% water/binder ratio, 10% silica fume content. And it is possible to predict the 28day compressive strength from the 7day strength. The equation for prediction is suggested.

      • 갑상선암 예측에 있어 초음파적 변수 분석

        Background: The introduction of high resolution sonography has made it possible to detect nodules in the thyroid gland. However, there has been no reliable sonographic sign for distinguishing between benign and malignant thyroid conditions. The aim of present study was to evaluate ultrasonographic (US) parameters in predicting thyroid cancer. Methods: One hundred fifty three patients who underwent thyroidectomy at Kosin Medical Center from January, 2000 to April, 2002 were included in the study. All patients were checked high resolutional US before surgery. Of the 153 patients 89 were malignant tumors and 64 benign. Malignant US parameters were defined as calcification, irregular margin, more taller than wide, and fat line obliteration. Calcification pattern was classified with single, punctated, and amorphous calcification. The US characteristics to predict malignancy were evaluated by means of multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: All of the malignant sonographic parameters such as calcification, 53 (89.8%) were thyroid carcinoma. The incidence rate of malignancy was 55.9% in solitary nodules and 65.7% in multiple nodules (p=0.303). Even though nodule size was less than 1.5㎝, the incidence of malignant tumor was 69.5% (p=0.04). Of 53 malignant nodules with calcification, the incidence of single, punctated, and amorphous calcification pattern was 6 (11.3%), 22 (41.5%), 25(47.2%), respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, and accuracy of sonographic parameters were 76.4%, 87.5%, 89.5%, 72.7% and 81.0%, respectively. Upon the correlation of US-guided FNA cytology with pathologic diagnosis, the sensitivity of ultrasound-guided FNA cytology in differentiating benign and malignant nodule was 85.9%, the specificity 100% and overall diagnostic accuracy was 91.2%. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of US parameters associated to follicular neoplasm, all were 75.0%. Conclusion : All the malignant US parameters including calcification, irregular margin, and more tall than wide showed high level of sensitivity, specificity and accuracy. Of these parameter, calcification and irregular margin were more significants. The more presence of calcifications with punctated and amorphous pattern could suggest the higher possibility of malignancy. However, further study is needed for clinical application of malignant US parameters in the thyroid tumors.

        The current methodology in analyzing the pedestrian environment is limited to the qualitative analysis using the checklist and the range of satisfaction surveyed after having experienced the street environment. Also, other means such as the observation of pedestrian service status and street furniture are insufficient in properly delineating the quantitative distinction that results from an evolution of structural development and in making assessments of alternate options. This research consists of the study of Space Syntax Theory that not only produces an objective and descriptive analysis of the spatial characters, but also resolves the relative interaction with other physical pedestrian Network System. This study suggest a pedestrian network model by analyzing the case study movement pattern within Insa-Dong. Hence, predicting the movement pattern of the imminent development in the study area by applying the methodology of analysis that was selected for studying the current status quo. From the research the outcome was helpful in providing the developers a greater perspective with the pedestrian Network System that is not confined to a certain parameter, but in a larger scale within the urban environment. Also, it aided in planning optimal scheme that concurs with the predictable pedestrian movement.

        무수프탈산을 취급하는 근로자들의 알레르기 질환 유병 실태

        Phthalic anhydride(PA) is widely used in the production of alkyd and unsaturated polyester resins. It has been reported that some workers exposed to PA have developed dermatitis, rhinitis and asthma. The authors intended to investigate the prevalence of PA induced allergic diseases and to develop preventive measures of occupational diseases. Forty-five male workers from PA production and handling were selected as an exposure group. Forty-four male workers not handling PA at tie same factory were chosen as a reference group. A symptom questionnaire, doctor's examination, eosinophil count, serum-total IgE and PA-specific IgE were done on the subjects. There were no significant differences in age, educational level. tenure or smoking habits between groups. Most clinical symptoms were significantly more frequent among the exposure group than the reference group: sneezing(62.2%), rhinorrhea(57.8%), nasal stuffiness(53.3%), coughing(44.4%) and nasal itching(35.6%) were the major symptoms among the exposure group(p<0.01, p<0.05). There were no significant differences in eosinophil count and serum-total IgE between groups but the mean level in PA-specific IgE, in the exposure group, was statistically significantly higher than the reference group(p<0.01). Abnormal rates of eosinophil count, serum-total IgE and PA-specific IgE were not significantly different from each other. The prevalence rate was 68.9%(31 cases) for allergic rhinitis in the exposure group, statistically significantly higher than the reference group(p<0.01). The prevalence rate was 6.7%(3 cases) for bronchial asthma and contact dermatitis in the exposure group, not more statistically significant than the reference group. In the exposure group, the prevalence rate for age, educational level, tenure, smoking habits and use of protective devices are not statistically significant. In PA specific IgE, sensitivity is 10.8%, specificity is 100.0%, positive predictability is 100.0% and negative predictability is 61.2% when criteria point is 3.5 KU/ιor above. As a result, it was recognized that the exposure group had a high prevalence of PA induced allergic rhinitis. Also, in diagnosis of PA induced allergic diseases, medical histories and specific symptoms were the most important where as eosinophil count, serum-total IgE are the only indirect informations. PA-specific IgE has been needed to evaluate the meanings more.

      • 충전강관용 폴리머 시멘트 콘크리트의 역학적 성상

        The purpose of this study is to investigate mechanical properties of the polynmer modified concrete for concrete filled tubular. Latex dispersion on the basis of "styrene-butadiene rubber" was used as a cement modifier. Investigation of the fresh and hardened modified concrete behavior was made on the basis of testing concretes modified with 10, 20 percent of polymer admixture on the cement mass. The setting time of the polymer modified concrete was very retarded with the increase of the dosage of superplasticizers. The tensile and flexural strength was very increased with the increase of polymer-cement ratio. At the water-cement ratios 0.34, 0.29 and the polymer-cement ratio 0.1, compressive strength was slightly increased.

      • 一般强度 圓形鋼管과 高强度 콘크리트가 合成된 短柱의 擧動特性

        A composite structural system using concrete and steels, which is called "steel reinforced concrete" system has been used for buildings taller than 6-story. In these days Concrete Filled steel Tubular(CFT) members has become very popular and constructions are increasing. The results of axilly loaded circular stub columns is introduced in this paper. Sixteen specimen were tested to investigate the effect on the ultimate strength of inner concrete and diameter to thickness ratio. As a result of this study, we found that the circular hollow section members filled with high strength concrete showed the increasing rate from 1.03 to 1.14. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the characteristics of CFCT stub columns filled with high strength concrete and. suggest the basic data for the design of Concrete Filled Tubular structures.

      • 계면활성제를 이용한 직접메탄올용 고분산 Pt/C 촉매의 개발

        Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) using a polymer electrolyte membrane is a kind of ideal energy source. DMFC has been in the spotlight of a probable application in the portable power source and in the hybrid electrical vehicles. However, the high cost of Pt and the low performance are difficult problems. In this study, the DMFC anode catalysts could be prepared from hydrosols with Pt particle size of 2-3 nm. Pt hydrosols were prepared by various kinds of surfactants. The Pt particles obtained were supported on Vulcan XC-72 as the hydrosols were destabilized by the addition of organic solvent, ethanol. The Pt particle size was not changed after deposition on the support. Pt/C catalyst using SB12 as a surfactant had higher catalytic activity than that using Brij 35. The catalytic activity of the developed Pt/C for methanol oxidation was 134 mA/㎤ of maximum current density, which was similar to that of a commercial one.
