      • A Fuzzy TOPSIS Based Evaluation Method for Supply Chain Collaborative Technological Innovation

        The collaboration between the company and its partners is becoming a competitive advantage to achieve long-term business success. Especially from the perspective of the supply chain, corporate profitability depends increasingly on their overall competitiveness in the supply chain rather than a single company. This paper is an attempt to the current issues and development of the supply chain collaborative technological innovation, and fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) is employed to assess the performance of the collaborative technological innovation from the supply chain perspective. An empirical study is illustrated to testify the effectiveness of this method. The managerial implications and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

      • Research on Technological Innovation Talents of the Six Provinces of Mid-China based on BP Artificial Neural Networks of the Golden Section Theory

        Technological innovation talent is the core element of economic and social development. It is a symbol of a country's soft power reflected from the perspective of knowledge. Therefore it is theoretically valuable and practically significant for a country to evaluate the comprehensive level technological innovation. Based on the construction of evaluation index system of the technological innovation talents’ competitiveness, we will use BP neural network to evaluate in this paper. We determine the actual situation of the evaluation system according to the input layer, hidden layer and output layer of the model as well as the number of neurons in each layer. The number of neurons in the input layer is the number of indices of technological innovation talents evaluation. The output layer represents the comprehensive ability level and has only one neuron. However, it is difficult to figure out the number of hidden layers of BP neural networks. We use the golden section method to accurately select their layers. This can effectively avoid the problem of excessive training error due to the random selection of hidden layer. Then we illustrate the accuracy and usefulness of this algorithm with the case of the technological innovation talents of the six central provinces. Tests show that the comprehensive ability of technological innovation talents of Hubei is the most powerful in the six central provinces and is followed by Anhui. The remaining four provinces have similar levels. The actual development of technological innovation talents agree well with the experimental results.

      • The Research of the Lead Time and the Profit in Centralized Dual-Channel Supply Chain

        Internet has changed customers’ consumption patterns a lot. And it also has changed the manufactures’ sale model. These phenomena bring us reformation and challenge. In direct channel, price is always cheaper than that in traditional channel and we can get much profit. Empirical studier shows that lead time is one of the major factors influencing consumer acceptance. A short lead time can increase the logistics, but the long lead time will reduce customers’ acceptance and the loyalty. Therefore, researching the lead time and the profit is important for dual-channel. In this paper, we study the lead time in centralized dual-channel supply chain and its impact on profit. We build the dual-channel supply chain model including quoted lead time and examine the relationship about the lead time, profit and  . This work is very helpful to manufacturers and retailers.

        Melittin induces autophagy to alleviate chronic renal failure in 5/6-nephrectomized rats and angiotensin II-induced damage in podocytes

        "BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES Chronic renal failure (CRF) is a complex pathological condition that lacks a cure. Certain Chinese medicines, such as melittin, a major component in bee venom, have shown efficacy in treating CRF patients. On the other hand, the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of melittin are unclear. MATERIALS/METHODS A 5/6 nephrectomy model (5/6 Nx) of renal failure was established on rats for in vivo assays, and mouse podocyte clone 5 (MPC5) mouse podocyte cells were treated with angiotensin II (AngII) to establish an in vitro podocyte damage model. The 24-h urine protein, serum creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen levels were evaluated after one, 2, and 4 weeks. Hematoxylin and eosin staining, Masson staining, and periodic acid-Schiff staining were used to examine the pathological changes in kidney tissues. A cell counting kit 8 assay was used to assess the cell viability. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were used to assess the mRNA and protein levels in the cells, respectively. RESULTS In the rat 5/6 Nx, melittin reduced the 24-h urinary protein excretion and the serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels. Furthermore, the renal pathology was improved in the melittin-treated 5/6 Nx rats. Melittin promoted podocin, nephrin, Beclin 1, and the LC3II/LC3I ratio and inhibited phosphorylated mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR)/mTOR in 5/6 Nx-induced rats and AngII-induced MPC5 mouse podocyte cells. Moreover, inhibiting autophagy with 3-MA weakened the effects of melittin on podocin, nephrin, and the LC3II/LC3I ratio in podocytes. CONCLUSION Melittin may offer protection against kidney injury, probably by regulating podocyte autophagy. These results provide the theoretical basis for applying melittin in CRF therapy."         Secondary flow control using endwall jet fence in a high-speed compressor cascade

        This paper proposes a secondary flow control concept using Endwall jet fence (EJF). A parametric investigation concerning the variations of the jet location along the axial and pitch-wise direction as well as the skew angle is conducted numerically to validate the potential of EJF in a high-speed compressor cascade with an inlet Mach number of 0.67. And then the interaction mechanisms between the EJF and the endwall secondary flow are discussed in detail. The results show that the EJF could reduce the corner separation and losses significantly by inputting transverse momentum component, inducing a concentrated jet vortex to block the pitch-wise migration of the passage vortex as well as enhancing the energy exchange between the endwall boundary layer and the mainstream. The jet location and the skew angle are important for the influence of EJF on the cascade performance. In this work, a maximum total pressure loss reduction of 11.6 % is obtained by the EJF located at 30 % of the axial chord and 10 % of the pitch with a skew angle of β = 40°, whereas the jetto-inflow mass flow ratio is only about 0.4 %, validating the high efficiency of this flow control concept. For the off-design points, the EJF also shows appreciable potential on the endwall secondary flow control and loss reduction.

        Robustness of RED in Mitigating LDoS Attack

        The Random Early Detection algorithm is widely used in the queue management mechanism of the router. We find that the parameters of the RED algorithm have a significant influence on the defense performance of the random early detection algorithm and discuss the robust of the algorithm in mitigating Low-rate Denial-of-Service attack in details. Simulation results show that the defense performance can be effectively improved by adjusting the parameters of Q<sub>min</sub> and Q <sub>max</sub>. Some suggestions are given for mitigating the LDoS attack at the end of this paper.

        Autonomous evaluation of ambient vibration of underground spaces induced by adjacent subway trains using high-sensitivity wireless smart sensors

        The operation of subway trains induces secondary structure-borne vibrations in the nearby underground spaces. The vibration, along with the associated noise, can cause annoyance and adverse physical, physiological, and psychological effects on humans in dense urban environments. Traditional tethered instruments restrict the rapid measurement and assessment on such vibration effect. This paper presents a novel approach for Wireless Smart Sensor (WSS)-based autonomous evaluation system for the subway train-induced vibrations. The system was implemented on a MEMSIC\'s Imote2 platform, using a SHM-H high-sensitivity accelerometer board stacked on top. A new embedded application VibrationLevelCalculation, which determines the International Organization for Standardization defined weighted acceleration level, was added into the Illinois Structural Health Monitoring Project Service Toolsuite. The system was verified in a large underground space, where a nearby subway station is a good source of ground excitation caused by the running subway trains. Using an on-board processor, each sensor calculated the distribution of vibration levels within the testing zone, and sent the distribution of vibration level by radio to display it on the central server. Also, the raw time-histories and frequency spectrum were retrieved from the WSS leaf nodes. Subsequently, spectral vibration levels in the one-third octave band, characterizing the vibrating influence of different frequency components on human bodies, was also calculated from each sensor node. Experimental validation demonstrates that the proposed system is efficient for autonomously evaluating the subway train-induced ambient vibration of underground spaces, and the system holds the potential of greatly reducing the laboring of dynamic field testing.

        Hospitalization Due to Asthma Exacerbation: A China Asthma Research Network (CARN) Retrospective Study in 29 Provinces Across Mainland China

        Purpose: Details of patients hospitalized for asthma exacerbation in mainland China are lacking. To improve disease control and reduce economic burden, a large sample survey among this patient population is indispensable. This study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics and outcomes of such patients. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on patients hospitalized for asthma exacerbation in 29 hospitals of 29 regions in mainland China during the period 2013 to 2014. Demographic features, pre-admission conditions, exacerbation details, and outcomes were summarized. Risk factors for exacerbation severity were analyzed. Results: There were 3,240 asthmatic patients included in this study (57.7% females, 42.3% males). Only 28.0% used daily controller medications; 1,287 (39.7%) patients were not currently on inhaled corticosteroids. Acute upper airway infection was the most common trigger of exacerbation (42.3%). Patients with severe to life-threatening exacerbation tended to have a longer disease course, a smoking history, and had comorbidities such as hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and food allergy. The multivariate analysis showed that smoking history, comorbidities of hypertension, COPD, and food allergy were independent risk factors for more severe exacerbation. The number of patients hospitalized for asthma exacerbation varied with seasons, peaking in March and September. Eight patients died during the study period (mortality 0.25%). Conclusions: Despite enhanced education on asthma self-management in China during recent years, few patients were using daily controller medications before the onset of their exacerbation, indicating that more educational efforts and considerations are needed. The findings of this study may improve our understanding of hospital admission for asthma exacerbation in mainland China and provide evidence for decision-making.
