We studied the methods that are used for analyzing and optimizing the dynamic performance of mechanical systems in the startup stage under different driving functions. Especially, we considered the effects of joint clearance and component flexibility. The dynamic model of mechanical system is the basis of our methods. A higher order polynomial was used for describing the driving form of mechanical system, and the initial jerk and accelerating time length were employed to determine the specific driving function. Besides, we presented three performance evaluation parameters for mechanical system and introduced surrogate models to improve performance evaluation efficiency. Then, the optimal driving function was determined by using the surrogate models and a multi-objective optimization algorithm. Finally, a planar slider-crank mechanism with a clearance joint was taken as an example to demonstrate our methods.

As the plasma facing material in the nuclear fusion reactor, tungsten has to bear the irradiation impact ofhigh energy particles. The surface quality of tungsten may affect its irradiation resistance, and even affectthe service life of fusion reactor. In this paper, tungsten samples with different surface quality werepolished by mechanical processing, subsequently conducted by D2þ implantation and thermal desorption. D2þ implantation was performed at room temperature (RT) with the irradiation dose of 1 1021D2þ/m2 by 5 keV D2þ ions, and thermal desorption spectroscopy measurements were done from RT to900 K. In addition, He irradiation was also performed by 50 eV Heþ ions energy with the fluxes of5.5 1021 m2s1 and 1.5 1022 m2s1, respectively. Results reveal that the hydrogen/helium irradiation behavior are both related to surface quality. Samples with high surface quality has superior D2þretention behavior with less D2 retained after implantation. However, such samples are more likely togenerate fuzzes on the surface after helium irradiation. Different morphologies (smooth, wavy, pyramids)after helium irradiati

Geographical knowledge cloud service is a typical online service that provides big spatial data analysis with the function of knowledge discovery or decision-making. The composition of geographical knowledge cloud service imposes stricter requirements for better overall QoS and execution efficiency of the service chain. In this paper, we present a data volume aware ant colony optimization approach called DVA-MOACO algorithm for geographical knowledge cloud service composition. Our algorithm utilizes a multi-index service quality evaluation model, and improves the transition probability while considering the data transfer cost and other QoS constraints simultaneously when ant finding path. Our algorithm could reach the Pareto near optimal solution rapidly with better QoS performance and lower data transfer cost from numerous candidate solutions.

Allomantispa Liu et al., 2015 is the only extant genus of the mantidfly subfamily Drepanicinae from Eurasia, being endemic to the Oriental region. It currently consists of only two species from southeastern Tibet and northern Myanmar, respectively. Here we describe a new species of this rarely observed mantidfly genus, namely Allomantispa coniprocessa sp. nov. from Yunnan, China. Interestingly, the new species displays distinctive sexual dimorphic characters on the pronotum. The molecular identification reveals obvious genetic divergence between the allopatric individuals of the new species. Their morphological variations are illustrated and compared. In addition, some characters with taxonomic or phylogenetic significance present on the pronotum, the abdomen and the genitalia in Allomantispa are also discussed. Our finding updates the morphological and distributional information on Allomantispa and implies a more diverse fauna of this genus in the Oriental region than pre viously assumed.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Polyelectrolyte-decorated graphene with positive and negative charges was prepared using graphene oxide as a precursor along with polyallylamine hydrochloride and poly (styrenesulfonate sodium) as surface modifiers, respectively. Driven by an electrostatic interaction, the as-obtained polyelectrolyte-decorated graphene sheets were self-assembled via a layer-by-layer method, producing graphene based composite multilayers. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) images showed that the surface of composite film exhibited a mass of characteristic wrinkles of graphene. Interestingly, the cross-sectional FE-SEM of the film exhibited an unstratified structure, indicating a good dispersion of graphene sheets in the composite film. The results of oxygen gas permeability testing demonstrated that the resulting composite films exhibited excellent oxygen gas barrier properties. The oxygen gas transmission rate (OTR) of the composite film with 24 bilayers was as low as 1.2 cm3 m-2 d-1∙atm−1, exhibiting potential for use in packaging applications.</P>

A series of new small molecules based on symmetric electron-acceptor of 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety or its asymmetric isomerof 1,2,4-oxadiazole unit were successfully synthesized and applied to solution-processable blue phosphorescent organic lightemittingdiodes for the first time, and their thermal, photophysical, electrochemical properties and density functional theorycalculations were studied thoroughly. Due to the high triplet energy levels (ET, 2.82–2.85 eV), the energy from phosphorescentemitter of iridium(III) bis[(4,6-difluorophenyl)-pyridinate-N,C2′]picolinate (FIrpic) transfer to the host molecules couldbe effectively suppressed and thus assuring the emission of devices was all from FIrpic. In comparison with the para-modeconjugation in substitution of five-membered 1,3,4-oxadiazole in 134OXD, the meta-linkages of 1,2,4-isomer appending withtwo phenyl rings cause the worse conjugation degree and the electron delocalization as well as the lower electron-withdrawingability for the other 1,2,4-oxadiazole-based materials. Noting that the solution-processed device based on 134OXD containing1,3,4-oxadiazole units without extra vacuum thermal-deposited hole/exciton-blocking layer and electron-transportinglayer showed the highest maximum current efficiency (CEmax) of 8.75 cd/A due to the excellent charge transporting ability of134OXD, which far surpassed the similar devices based on other host materials containing 1,2,4-oxadiazole units. Moreover, the device based on 134OXD presented small efficiency roll-off with current efficiency (CE) of 6.26 cd/A at high brightnessup to 100 cd/m2. This work demonstrates different nitrogen and oxygen atom orientations of the oxadiazole-based hostmaterials produce major impact on the optoelectronic characteristics of the solution-processable devices.

Poly(1,2-propylene glycol adipate) (PPA) was used as an environmentally friendly plasticizer in flexible poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). Thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties of the PVC/PPA blends were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical analysis, tensile test, scanning electron microscopy and small amplitude oscillatory shear rheometry. The results showed that PPA lowered the glass transition temperature of PVC. The introduction of PPA could decrease tensile strength and Young’s modulus of the PVC/PPA blends; however, elongationat-break was dramatically increased due to the plastic deformation. The plasticization effect of PPA was also manifested by the decrease of dynamic storage modulus and viscosity in the melt state of the blends. The results indicated that PPA had a good plasticizing effect on PVC.
Limit analysis of 3D rock slope stability with non-linear failure criterion
Gao, Yufeng,Wu, Di,Zhang, Fei,Lei, G.H.,Qin, Hongyu,Qiu, Yue Techno-Press 2016 Geomechanics & engineering Vol.10 No.1
The non-linear Hoek-Brown failure criterion has been widely accepted and applied to evaluate the stability of rock slopes under plane-strain conditions. This paper presents a kinematic approach of limit analysis to assessing the static and seismic stability of three-dimensional (3D) rock slopes using the generalized Hoek-Brown failure criterion. A tangential technique is employed to obtain the equivalent Mohr-Coulomb strength parameters of rock material from the generalized Hoek-Brown criterion. The least upper bounds to the stability number are obtained in an optimization procedure and presented in the form of graphs and tables for a wide range of parameters. The calculated results demonstrate the influences of 3D geometrical constraint, non-linear strength parameters and seismic acceleration on the stability number and equivalent strength parameters. The presented upper-bound solutions can be used for preliminary assessment on the 3D rock slope stability in design and assessing other solutions from the developing methods in the stability analysis of 3D rock slopes.
