Tinea incognito is a dermatophytic infection induced by immunosuppressive agents that lacks the classic features of a typical fungal infection. Although the treatment of tinea incognito is simple and relatively easy, its clinical manifestation varies and can masquerade as various skin disorders, causing misdiagnosis and thus preventing prompt and appropriate treatment. Here, we report an interesting case of tinea incognito occurring after topical steroid administration in an immunosuppressed patient with dermatitis artefacta. A 40- year-old female patient who had been taking systemic glucocorticoid for 4 years for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy presented with itching multiple erythematous erosive lesions on the face and upper chest for 2 months. Initial biopsy produced nonspecific findings. The skin lesion was aggravated and became polycyclic and erythematous; after azathioprine was added, her chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy became aggravated. A second biopsy confirmed hyphae in the cornified layer. Complete remission was achieved after admonishing oral terbinafine and topical amorolfine. (Ann Dermatol 27(3) 322∼325, 2015)
A Stigmergy-and-Neighborhood Based Ant Algorithm for Clustering Data
2009 Management Science and Financial Engineering Vol.15 No.1
Data mining, specially clustering is one of exciting research areas for ant based algorithms. Ant clustering algorithm, however, has many difficulties for resolving practical situations in clustering. We propose a new grid-based ant colony algorithm for clustering of data. The previous ant based clustering algorithms usually tried to find the clusters during picking up or dropping down process of the items of ants using some stigmergy information. In our ant clustering algorithm we try to make the ants reflect neighborhood information within the storage nests. We use two ant classes, search ants and labor ants. In the initial step of the proposed algorithm, the search ants try to guide the characteristics of the storage nests. Then the labor ants try to classify the items using the guide information that has set by the search ants and the stigmergy information that has set by other labor ants. In this procedure the clustering decision of ants is quickly guided and keeping out of from the stagnated process. We experimented and compared our algorithm with other known algorithms for the known and statistically-made data. From these experiments we prove that the suggested ant mining algorithm found the clusters quickly and effectively comparing with a known ant clustering algorithm.
Power Quality Control of Hybrid Wind Power Systems using Robust Tracking Controller
Heesang Ko,Su-Hyung Yang,Young Il Lee,Chang-Jin Boo,Kwang Y. Lee,Ho-Chan Kim 대한전기학회 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.2
This paper presents a modeling and a controller design for a hybrid wind turbine generator, especially with an operating mode of battery energy-storage system and a dumpload that contribute to the frequency control of the system while diesel-synchronous unit is not in operation. The proposed control scheme is based on a robust tracking controller, which takes an account of system uncertainties due to the wind flow and load variations. In order to provide robustness for system uncertainties, the range of operation is partitioned into three operating conditions as sub-models in the controller design. In the simulation study, the proposed robust tracking controller (RTC) is compared with the conventional proportional-integral (PI) controller. Simulation results show that the effectiveness of the RTC against disturbances caused by wind speed and load variation. Thus, better quality of the hybrid wind power system is achieved.
Hybrid Urbanscapes of PC Bangs and Their Socio-Spatial Effects on Human Bodies

This paper suggests an inquiry into the characteristics and implications of urbanscapes produced by Internet cafes, widely called PC Bangs in Korea, and their effects on the motions and boundaries of human bodies as cyborgs which exist in between actual and virtual spaces or between human and machine spaces in PC Bangs. The paper, which is organised into two main sections, first investigates the streetscapes of PC Bangs as electronic architectural spaces and suggests the urban electronic space of PC Bangs in terms of hypertext space. Then, it looks at the effects of PC Bangs on human bodies which exist as human-machine hybrids or cyborgs in PC Bangs. The paradoxical sociospatial characteristics of PC Bangs as third, liminal or hybrid spaces between actual and virtual spaces or between human and machine spaces can be explained as follows. Firstly, there appear both nomadic and sedentary landscapes in that people in PC Bangs move in virtual spaces on the one hand, and are static in actual spaces on the other hand. Secondly, both open and closed spaces are shaped in that although PC Bangs act as open or public electronic spaces, they involve invisible social boundaries, forming the gendered space of masculinism. Thirdly, the boundaries of the human body are extended and are shrunk at the same time in that while the sensory boundaries of the body in PC Bangs are extended through electronic networks, its social boundaries are shrunk through the imaginary space of solipsism. Thus and finally, PC Bangs can be characterised not only as social spaces entailing embodied and gendered landscapes, but also as non-places involving the cyborg landscapes of human-machine connections.
